Cheap accommodation that will give you a 5 star experience! Didn’t expect too much before my stay but they were able to deliver more than what was expected! The rooms are really spacious, has hot & cold shower, a fridge, and a safe box. Everyone was very accommodating from the staffs to the owner! They’ll gladly give you tips on where to go around the area and the best activities to do. Really enjoyed my stay here! Can’t wait to be back!

Captains Lodge and Bar is a really awesome and friendly place. We really loved it here. Location is great, within walking distance to all the places you need. The room is spacious and it was always clean and maintained daily, with decent wi-fi. The bathroom was also clean and with hot water. Staff is one of the friendliest I have ever met. I would definitely recommend this place!

Located on the main road yet still quiet because it is behind a commercial building which you enter first before being inside the property I like to stay in hotels that are clean, safe, budget friendly and in the center of it all. Pros: quiet, cheap, fairly large - we had a double bed plus a single bed added. Mid sized ref, bath and beach towels provided. Umbrella in the room too for when it suddenly rains or for midday strolls. They serve breakfast pretty decent for 150 pesos average. I like that it was an all female staff specially that I travel with my daughter. Rooms are clean though you have to let them clean it before noon or else they clean it the next day. All the restaurants are nearby also the spas, banks, etc. Cons: mirror in the bathroom is for tall people only because it's fixed above the sink and when I stand I only see half of my face. Door gets jammed have to slide it in such a way to lock Overall, a good place to rest after a whole day of touring or swimming. …

By far our favorite accommodation in the Philippines! Very reasonable room rates considering that Alona Beach area is overpriced. We stayed here for 3 nights and we really enjoyed it! Great amenities in the room (A/C, fan, TV, minibar, etc). The place boasts an awesome bar with a pleasant ambience and a pool table. It is located just a few minutes away from noisy Alona Beach but at the same time it's very quiet. They rented us a brand new motorbike at 500 PHP per day. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

Clean. Presentable. Quirky. We are currently still here and wanted to make sure I wrote a review as this place deserves it. We were greeted with a warm welcome to our private room which has a terraced area and en suite. They gave little extras like booklets with tips on where to go and little soaps pens and other nick nacks etc. Menus for breakfast lunch n dinner if you wanted - you order and they bring it to your room. We had a pizza last night which was great, English breakfast this morning which was lovely and the ham n egg sandwich for lunch which was amazing! The lady at reception is very helpful and I would 100% recommend staying here if you want an up market hostel / hotel for a good price! Also it’s a few minutes walk into the main town!

Very new accomodation not far from Alona beach. Clean and well equipped rooms, mini bar, terrace and nice garden make it a good value for your money, which is mostly hard to find in this region. They also serve breakfast (good, but be patient) and pizza in the evening, and there's a bar on site as well. We also rented a scooter from them. Good stay, would come back if I had to stay in the area again.

Me and my family went to Bohol and decided to stay in this hotel. The hotel has a nautical theme that carries out up to the room. They have a nice bar shaped like a boat and you can also play billiards for free. The service we got is top notch. The room we got has a kitchen where you can cook your own food! They also sell pizza which is great. The hotel itself is 10 minutes away from Alona Beach which for me is better than Boracay in terms of the sand.

Nice clean rooms, polite staff, pool table. Great place for happy hour after a day on the beach. Once you walk in, all street noises disappear, which is rare in Tawala (Alona). The owners are super cool and friendly, and the service is above average for the area. Good location, close to Alona Beach, with restaurants, bars and massage parlour nearby.

Lovely lodge, super clean, comfy bed, AC, good wifi(which in the Philippines is often hard to find), cable TV. Good cooked breakfast for P250. Pretty much everything you need at a really good price! There's a long communal balcony at the front, where it's nice to have breakfast. The bar looked nice, very much a captain's lair. Just hope I saw more women travellers, in fact just fellow travellers as I was travelling solo and the bar seemed like a popular spot only with mature 'expat' gentlemen.
