It was a very nice experience, the staff are all helpful, funny and accommodating.. The location is very nice not too far from Alona beach, but not too close from the noise of the bars beside the beach so you will have a nice rest!! I surely recommend it!!

It's about a ten-fifteen minute walk to the beach but it's quiet down the little road so worth the walk. Small, personal, clean and lovely design. If you understand they don't provide all the things a big resort does like individual shampoo and coffee etc then you will find nothing to complain about. They advertise as being serviced apartments so a quick shop to set up your room is all you need for longer stays.

Great aircon, wifi and TV. Lovely staff on the desk. Comfy bed. Own sink and plates and cutlery is a bonus. This was my fave place on Bohol and we stayed at three different places and I also inspected another four or five across price ranges before deciding. It doesn't have a pool but you can get day passes at Hennan if you want to be fancy during the day and cozy and quiet at night!

Room are small, not much light, zircon extremely noisy, service provided is minimal, staffs are not at all service oriented or educated for serving customers, hardly smiling and even more hardly greetings.
All those would be ok for a cheap back packer hostel not for the supposed 2 star place they pretend to be.
As in Philippines the "eco" concept is just an idea, again staffs are all but concern by environment like letting tourist driving cars for long time waiting customers in front of the entrance with running engine (noise + pollution)... Selective trash is only a concept as well as the garbage are not collected neither selected by Panglao municipality.
And oh please know that if you break a glass (value 10 pesos) you will be asked to pay not 100 but 250 pesos for it (to be fair after a small arguement with the manager we did not paid that)...

after a tiring city tour from bohol we were able to get to our hotel from dormitels.ph specifically at ECO HOTEL, we were surprised because we thought we only booked the double fan room cause we really had a tight budget. so what eco hotel did was they able to upgrade our room to a hotel-like ambiance and really was awed by the room they have given us. so thanks for the upgrade ECO HOTEL, if you guys wanted to visit panglao, i highly recommend ECO HOTEL! we really loved the room from their comfortable bed and clean bathroom! even if we need to walk going to the beach it doesnt matter because its really worth the stay!

Dear Dexter, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the upgrade from Dormitels to Eco Hotel. It is the least our staff can do to address the overbooked situation. We do hope you come and stay in Eco Hotel again even without complimentary upgrade. Rates may not be as low as Dormitels but are still priced fairly given the amenities and facilities offered. Regards, Eco Hotel Management

I fell in love with the place the moment I stepped into the property of Eco Hotel Alona! The place was so inviting and it set the mood for me. The concept of Eco Hotel really lived up to its name...from the architecture to the decor. The room did not disappoint. It was huge (with a king bed that could fit 3 adults) and with all the necessities like aircon, ceiling fan, flat screen tv, comfortable bed with a cool throw pillow that turns into a plush blanket...and a spacious kitchenette inside the room! Wifi, was available with compliments and the 100 year old tree that was carefully preserved and provided the relaxing shade on a hot afternoon was a welcome reprieve. I would highly recommend staying at Eco Hotel Alona to anyone. It is far enough away from the noise of the streets lined with bars and busy restaurants but close enough to walk and find everything you need. The 5-7 minute walk to the white sand beach is not a bother when you are staying in a cozy place that will welcome you and provide you with comfortable and relaxing sleep after a full day of fun in the sun! Staying in Eco Hotel Alona was the best part of my stay in Bohol! Looking forward to my next visit...soon!

Loved the upcycled furnishings. The unit had a kitchen you can cook in. A bit of a walk or tricycle distance from Alona beach where all good restaurants are, but it's in a quiet area of Alona. The good ventilation of the rooms lulled me to sleep. Each hallway had a huge tree. Their deck is underneath a century old tree which was kept by the hotel. Staff were great and friendly. I will surely come back to this hotel. They seem to combine business with a mission as their name implies. Complimentary coffee was great by the way.

It was a pleasant, comfortable quick stay in Bohol. i love the room, the beddings and their efforts as a green hotel. Strong internet connection with location near the sights of the famous Alona beach. Easy to locate, transportation is abundant as well as restaurants that you can choose from around the area. Thanks Dave and your team, I hope to come back in the future for longer stay and for being generous with the late check-out request☺️.

No safety box -
No gym -
No beach access ( about 7 min walk ) -
Hot water : yes after 3 min wait

No waiters , No food available .
( after 8:30 pm , first shop to buy water is about 4 min walk . )

No real Lobby ( if u want to use internet u have to sit on the floor )

Cancellation Costs :
Attention this hotel has a very strict cancellation policy very uncommon on this island , 30 days prior arrival on total amount of your stay !
This means that if any emergency or u need to leave the island you will lose the whole amount of your stay .
All other hotels in Panglao island so far allowed us to modify , extend or reduce our stay according to our needs and our preference .

Overall Review :
I would definately not suggest this hotel to family or friends no matter the price.

Dear Guest, We have positioned ourselves as a limited service hotel which means our facilities and amenities are basic and do not have banquet services. This allows us a price point that is comparatively lower than full-service hotels. Our hotel espouses ecological practices which is why our shower facilities are solar powered and take some time for heat energy to produce the right water temperature. Our internet connection is limited to certain public areas which we are working on improving. Please be advised that the pictures you took are not part of the hotel premises but rather government property. This includes the pathway to the hotel and the back area that contains some rubbish. We are working with local government to clean and improve all surrounding areas to keep the location more pleasant. Thank you for your feedback and we hope that you give our hotel another chance to serve you. Abi Galano VP Operations
