Detailed Reviews
A truly wonderful stay, in such a beautiful part of the world.
My room was large and kept in an extremely clean manner.
The staff is truly this hotels key asset. Always smiling, friendly and helpful.
During my stay I sustained a leg injury and if it was not for the amazing staff at the hotel it would have been a misery.
They went out of their way to assist me in all ways possible. I felt as they were more ‘family’ than staff!
I had the privilege of meeting some of the owners who were very nice people and along with their capable hotel manager seem to go the extra mile to make the residents feel comfortable in their stay.
The hotel itself is quite modern with an authentic native look to the outside.
The pool was well maintained and I took advantage of it at every opportunity to cool down and relax with a drink
Room facilities were great, air conditioning was efficient, nice mini bar, beds were comfortable, WIFI reception was strong and the bathroom was quite spacious.
The food at their restaurant was delicious as well, the complimentary breakfast was sumptuous.
The hotel itself is located in a quiet location just a 10 minute walk into the main beach area, however I opted to use their shuttle bus that ran every 30 mins.
This hotel was truly the best that I stayed at during my recent trip to the UK and Philippines.
It deserves the high review ratings that it attracts!
Thank you and I hope to return and stay again very soon!

Consigliatissimo.

Booked 2 family rooms here last week. Family rooms are excellent and well
laid out for family with 2 separate rooms, and a very relaxing and spacious open terrace. Family rooms are complimented with full drinks in the ref including 2 canned of beers. Nice pool and resort is surrounded with trees. But access to the hotel is quite poor, very narrow and bumpy roads. Also no fixed phones in the rooms and if you need something you’ve got to go to reception e.g. getting hot water for coffee. This is not convenient for us staying on the 3rd floor. Tap water for bathing is also a bit salty.

We had a lovely stay here. It’s down a quiet road with Ken’s bar very close for a night cap or drink on the way into town. Green papaya is lovely, rooms are nice size. Bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade. You have to order breakfast the day before but a good ish selection and lovely coffee. The biggest downsize is that there are. I longer 8 rooms as per website but 24/26. We were fortunate that people seemed to go out during the day .... but had there been more people in, the pool area would have been very crowded. Also noticed that they say a ‘rooftop’ bar coming soon.... may well ruin this tranquil spot.

Stayed for two nights - downside comments first.
1) Beds have quite sharp wooden corners - quite painful if you bump into them - these need to be rounded off.
2) Quite clearly they have a problem with the sewage system - toilet wouldn't flush properly & I overheard another guest complaint of the same issue.
3) Sliding UPVC doors are just so heavy & hard work to close properly.
4) Prices - expensive compared to similar priced resorts near Alona.
5) Bathroom Shower head needs servicing or replacing - a strong jet of water comes from the middle with weak water flow from other nozzles.
6) WiFi poor in room
7) No tea or coffee making facilities
Upside:
1) Very peaceful & relaxing - nice plants inside and surrounding the property, many birds visiting for the fruit.
2) Pool is immaculate - cleaned every morning.
3) Nice large rooms - very clean.
4) Staff very nice & polite.
5) Shuttle to & from Alona beach works fine.Polite driver.
6) No real hassle getting to and from the place but only if you like walking & exercise.
7) Good breakfast
8) Nice to see signage at the breakfast table to mute phones.
9) Bamboo straws used instead of plastic
Overall we had a nice stay.Normally I avoid small resorts with a pool in the middle as quite often way too much noise - but despite the heavy doors they too a good job re sound proofing. Had a good nights sleep each night.

+1
Our stay in SOGPR was superb! Their staff are all very attentive, friendly and nice. The rooms are so clean, smelled nice, and toiletries are complete. The pools are amazing. My son had fun in the kiddie pool and me and my husband in the jacuzzi. Good food and price is reasonable!
I love the fact that we can just charge our food orders in the room so that I didn’t have to bring my wallet everytime.
Wifi is great too, they have several wifi routers in the area, so there is no area that has a weak signal.
The free shuttle to and from Alona Beach is a big plus!!!!
Because of the standards that they have set, I was disappointed to the next resort (Dumaluan Beach Resort 2) we checked in to afterwards

The problem is the service and hazards that you may encounter. This is what I've encountered so far:
1. there are dengue carrying mosquitoes;
2. my room got flooded from the drainage backing up;
3. employees don't exactly give you the right information like tourist attraction pricing or that you have to pay extra for every underwear you put in when using their laundry services;
4. they replaced the damaged equipment/device from the flood with their Boss' second hand equipment/device. (Not sure if they actually have any damaged properties policy);
5. The wifi signal is unreachable in some rooms you stay in;
6. Somehow you can't open their toothpaste without biting the top off;
7. Constructions are ongoing (during my stay at least);
Other than those listed above:
1. The stay is fine for backpacking folks with lots of cash to spend and have very good immune system or healthcare coverage.
2. The employees are nice and will take care of your needs however mediocre it is or not.
3. The room's electricity doesn't require you to insert the key card into the electric switch except for the air conditioning.
4 They have a cute, fluffy dog.

The hotel was nice and clean. They had hot water and the A/C worked with little noise.
The hotel is located close to Alona Beach and they do have a shuttle to the beach. Breakfast was limited and included with room. There restaurant was not bad but they are so many other options to eat out.
Enjoyed their pool and having drinks there. I found the hotel very pleasant and comfortable. And the staff warm and friendly.
I do plan to go back here again

Good morning. The 2 pools of the resort are open and fully operational. The 5 days renovation ended last week.
The property is not a front beach resort. we are 900 m away from the shore in a quiet area. We do have a free shuttle every 30 min going to the beach for a 3 min ride.
Hello, good afternoon. Our room are since 3 months for rent and already fully furnished. If your question is about kitchen, our rooms are resort type, and dedicated to guests who want to completely relax and use our restaurant and bar. Hope we can answer to more of your questions. Best regards.
