We stayed in this fabulous little place for two nights. The staff are very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The prices for food and drinks were similar to what you can find locally (e.g., cheap by US standards). The rooms were clean. The pool was clean and warm. The hotel provides a free shuttle to/from Alona beach (just a few minutes' drive). The only negative was that there is a crazy rooster at a neighboring property who thinks dawn is arriving...well...most of the night. If you're a light sleeper, bring your earplugs. (This is true throughout the Philippines. Roosters and howling cats are everywhere.)

This hotel is out of the way, but close to all the action of Panglao Island. It was never a problem to get transportation to other places on the island from the resort, although it's all done by tricycles. The room was nice, the restaurant was good, with a limited selection, and the service was excellent. The girl in charge of checking me in (Gia) knew her job well, and was extremely helpful. The WIFI in the room is not strong, but was good in the common areas. I would stay here again.

Well... Let's start with the pre-arranged airport pickup..... The driver did not show until 30 minutes late.. We found out that the original driver cancelled and they used another car service in a panic to pick us up... The cost for the 10 minute service was 400 PHP. What a rip off! Needless to say, we took a trike back to airport leaving for 150 PHP. The free shuttle to Alona Beach... Yesterday we waited an hour only to find out that the shuttle was broken... We paid for a trike back to the resort. The room... Very dated and sharp corners on the bed trim... The sliding door to enter the room wasn't on the best working order and there was no hot water our first night and the second day of our stay. The food wad seriously overpriced at the bar/restoraunt... 800 PHP for a Ham &

Late Review. If you're looking for a place away from the very busy Alona but still not that far, this is your place. Walking back to the hotel was not really advisable at night after you spend sometime in Alona beach, however they make up for the free shuttle which was a nice gesture. Breakfast was ok. Nothing too fancy. We never got to try the pool as we were out on tours for most days.It looks nice and clean though. The lights from the pool are pleasant too at night. A suggestion, the stairs are quite slippery so the staff should be very attentive to avoid accidents. A family friendly resort. ;)

We absolutely loved the Green Papaya; location, service and staff were all 5 star! A special mention to Krissy who was very friendly with us and our baby and always smiling. As other reviews mentioned, location is perfect and there is a free shuttle every 30 minutes to/from Alona Beach (or you can walk 10/15mins). Breakfast is nice; I personally suggest to try the pancakes and the oatmeal banana porridge (huge portion). We also booked transfer to the airport and a tour of Bohol island through the hotel and everything worked out perfectly! We absolutely recommend this accommodation as it’s very nice but still simple and you can really interact with local people.

Nice place with clean room, swemming pool and friendly staff. Loved their breakfast, landscaped environment and free transfer to the Alona beach every half hour. But also it's not far to walk to the beach. Neighborhood is also nice so that you do not feel threatened for a moment. they also offer views of the island and other various tours. Good price for what you get.

The rooms are a very nice value and quite comfortable. The pool is nice and there is nice greenery all around the property. It is in a very quiet section of the village about a kilometre to the main road. There are a couple of restaurants nearby and a bar or two. It's quiet, peaceful, and pleasant. The staff have a nice attitude and are generally helpful.

Quite nice hotel with a great atmosphere. We had a room above and it was quite big with a balcony. It's not that close to the beach. By walk 15 to 20 min. But they have a shuttle each half hour. Or you can rent a motorbike in the town for 500P. We like the pool. A nice refreshment in a lovely green place. The restaurant offers very good food. We went there twice for lunch. It was very fresh cooked and tasty. The service and staff is very helpful and kind.
