From the moment you walk through the entrance you're greeted will amazingly friendly staff and a gorgeous pool. I honestly can't express how lovely it was to meet Gia and Aira! So funny and kind, they provided exceptional service. The rooms were comfy, spacious, clean, quiet and peaceful. The food is delicious and cheap drinks for the evenings was very welcoming. Thank you Green Papaya and espically to our new friend Gia, we will be returning!
Green Papaya is great! Especially Gia and Aira, the girls that work at the front the desk! My partner and I had an amazing time! Gia set us up with an amazing tour guide who took us all over the island and was so much fun to get lunch with. Absolutely beautiful people!!! I’m sure the entire staff at green papaya are amazing, but we connected with Gia and Aira right away! They were so welcoming, friendly, and accomodating! We loved our stay not only because of the clean room, refreshing pool, location, and food but because of the staff! Will definitely be coming back!!! Thank you so much Gia and Aira for making our stay care-free, relaxing, and amazing! We’ll see you again soon definitely!
We were there for the wedding of our son in Philippines. We did our booking online at Green papaya resort. On arrival we were greeted by very charming staff. They were well versed and knew their job. They made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The food and the drinks were just right. The rooms were clean and the bedding was great. The shuttle bus was amazing. Green in colour. Oh we also loved the Happy Hour where drinks were in plenty. We would like to thank and recommend all the staff especially..GIA, CLUDINE, CELYN and AIRA. The kitchen staff were excellent. The maintenance Boy was also very good and helpful too. We will definitely be staying there again in the future. Kuldip hunjan UK
Stayed for two nights - downside comments first. 1) Beds have quite sharp wooden corners - quite painful if you bump into them - these need to be rounded off. 2) Quite clearly they have a problem with the sewage system - toilet wouldn't flush properly & I overheard another guest complaint of the same issue. 3) Sliding UPVC doors are just so heavy & hard work to close properly. 4) Prices - expensive compared to similar priced resorts near Alona. 5) Bathroom Shower head needs servicing or replacing - a strong jet of water comes from the middle with weak water flow from other nozzles. 6) WiFi poor in room 7) No tea or coffee making facilities Upside: 1) Very peaceful & relaxing - nice plants inside and surrounding the property, many birds visiting for the fruit. 2) Pool is…
We stayed in this fabulous little place for two nights. The staff are very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The prices for food and drinks were similar to what you can find locally (e.g., cheap by US standards). The rooms were clean. The pool was clean and warm. The hotel provides a free shuttle to/from Alona beach (just a few minutes' drive). The only negative was that there is a crazy rooster at a neighboring property who thinks dawn is arriving...well...most of the night. If you're a light sleeper, bring your earplugs. (This is true throughout the Philippines. Roosters and howling cats are everywhere.)
This hotel is out of the way, but close to all the action of Panglao Island. It was never a problem to get transportation to other places on the island from the resort, although it's all done by tricycles. The room was nice, the restaurant was good, with a limited selection, and the service was excellent. The girl in charge of checking me in (Gia) knew her job well, and was extremely helpful. The WIFI in the room is not strong, but was good in the common areas. I would stay here again.
Well... Let's start with the pre-arranged airport pickup..... The driver did not show until 30 minutes late.. We found out that the original driver cancelled and they used another car service in a panic to pick us up... The cost for the 10 minute service was 400 PHP. What a rip off! Needless to say, we took a trike back to airport leaving for 150 PHP. The free shuttle to Alona Beach... Yesterday we waited an hour only to find out that the shuttle was broken... We paid for a trike back to the resort. The room... Very dated and sharp corners on the bed trim... The sliding door to enter the room wasn't on the best working order and there was no hot water our first night and the second day of our stay. The food wad seriously overpriced at the bar/restoraunt... 800 PHP for a Ham &…
We stayed at this hotel for 5 days. Everything was perfect, the staff, the rooms... The hotel is very relaxing, good mood. Special mention for Gia. She was very careful with us. Very good stay Salama, Thanks, Merci
Late Review. If you're looking for a place away from the very busy Alona but still not that far, this is your place. Walking back to the hotel was not really advisable at night after you spend sometime in Alona beach, however they make up for the free shuttle which was a nice gesture. Breakfast was ok. Nothing too fancy. We never got to try the pool as we were out on tours for most days.It looks nice and clean though. The lights from the pool are pleasant too at night. A suggestion, the stairs are quite slippery so the staff should be very attentive to avoid accidents. A family friendly resort. ;)
We absolutely loved the Green Papaya; location, service and staff were all 5 star! A special mention to Krissy who was very friendly with us and our baby and always smiling. As other reviews mentioned, location is perfect and there is a free shuttle every 30 minutes to/from Alona Beach (or you can walk 10/15mins). Breakfast is nice; I personally suggest to try the pancakes and the oatmeal banana porridge (huge portion). We also booked transfer to the airport and a tour of Bohol island through the hotel and everything worked out perfectly! We absolutely recommend this accommodation as it’s very nice but still simple and you can really interact with local people.
