Stayed at the SOGP for 3 nights From 18th Nov 2019 Family of 6 x adults and 1 x infant I cannot really fault this hotel at all well only very minor niggles We stayed on the only 3rd floor Apartment which I think is the biggest and best room/s Superior deluxe I think its called 2 very large bedrooms with a connecting door 1 with a king size bed and the other 2 x singles. For the first night we added an extra single mattress for an extra guest the receptionist actually brought the mattress up three flights of stairs and put the bedding on it And the charge was minimal. Large bathroom with large shower and actually had hot water ! Quality of beds pillows etc were to UK standard or maybe French standard as Hotel is French owned There are patio doors from each bedroom…

The Scent of Green Papaya is beautiful. We had an amazing stay at this resort. The staff is very nice and helpful, the room is very confortable and clean. The swimming pool is very pleasant. And the location is very quiet. The resort provides free shuttle buses to go the center, it is convenient. The breakfast is very good. I highly recommend this place!

This place is really amazing, immaculate & comfortable rooms, relaxing environment and fantastic food with much variety. Set off the the main road it offers peace and privacy, also is perfectly located to get to nearby attractions. Staff are incredibly helpful and would highly recommend. We wished we could stay longer!

All in all this quaint little 'resort' is good choice for a budget conscience traveller. The staff are really friendly and helpful. PROS: - overall good location - close to Alona Beach - tasty, quality breakfast - comfortable beds and pillows - clean, comfortable bathroom - decent wi-fi - good air conditioning in the room CONS: - the location, being back off the main roads, after rain the dirt road to the resort gets muddy and very slippery - the ground level rooms in building A don't afford much privacy if you want the curtains open. Room 1 in building A is the worst - I had to have my curtains closed otherwise people at the pool were staring right in the room - no hot water in the bathroom sink, only in the shower

An absolute gem of a place. We experienced excellent personal service by staff who really care. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Food is good especially the breakfast. We will return here for another break soon. Very good value. Great staff.

Wifi not working, staff are friendly could never lock the door to the room. Pool has too much chemical made our child sick. Cold shower every day, Would not recommend to anyone. Room full of mosquitos.

Made room request a day before our visit when we were informed that the pool was closed. Paid full price with no discount given. Arrived for 3 night stay greeted by very friendly staff. Great stay as we went to a different resort to use their pool, but no acknowledgement from owners who sat in the restaurant chatting. Staff apologised and said decided to close pool for maintenance as there was very few bookings that week. Small pool open where it takes 3 strokes to complete a full length. We were returning guests and a simple apology or gesture of a beer would have seen us return. Will return in December but will stay elsewhere as its clear the owners only care about profit.

Sir, good afternoon. First we wanna reply about the pool experience, which was close as you correctly said. On the property we have two pools, a small one with Jacuzzi (which stay opened, as the renovation was finished weeks ago) and then our big pool, was close during 5 days, unfortunately during your stay. The miscommunication or late information you had was our mistake, we certainly can admit it and apologize honestly for that as this is a fair complain. However, and it's important to clarify it, our month of September was under room price promotion to cover the different renovations we did in the property, during your stay only 8 rooms were proposed like that every one can enjoy the small pool without being over crowded. Still it's a smaller pool. Now for the free drinks, as per our manager Jo, as per the receptionist Aira and the other receptionist Cheska you had like every other guests the free cocktails or free happy hour drinks offered and you refused them all. So we cannot accept the part of your comment where we didn't offer you anything to complete our apologize for the pool closure upon your arrival. TripAdvisor is a two way system, which provide our future guests real feedback and also a right of reply from the property. So it's important to provide real and true information and not just anger or targeted reply against "greedy owners" as you title it or repeated it in other website. Our mistake was once again our late or non information about our main pool closure for renovation and we do apologize for that. For our future guests reading this review, we wanna confirm that the 2 pools are fully opened since last week of September and ready for more years of fun. The SOGPR team.

A truly wonderful stay, in such a beautiful part of the world. My room was large and kept in an extremely clean manner. The staff is truly this hotels key asset. Always smiling, friendly and helpful. During my stay I sustained a leg injury and if it was not for the amazing staff at the hotel it would have been a misery. They went out of their way to assist me in all ways possible. I felt as they were more ‘family’ than staff! I had the privilege of meeting some of the owners who were very nice people and along with their capable hotel manager seem to go the extra mile to make the residents feel comfortable in their stay. The hotel itself is quite modern with an authentic native look to the outside. The pool was well maintained and I took advantage of it at every opportunity…

Stayed 3 days and 2 nights in this beautiful and serene resort. Everything is perfect, the rooms are well-appointed, swimming pool options both for kids and adults, food is great too. Staff are nice and accomodating. Not beach front, but if you want to just relax, away from the hustling crowd of Alona, then this is the best choice.

Booked 2 family rooms here last week. Family rooms are excellent and well laid out for family with 2 separate rooms, and a very relaxing and spacious open terrace. Family rooms are complimented with full drinks in the ref including 2 canned of beers. Nice pool and resort is surrounded with trees. But access to the hotel is quite poor, very narrow and bumpy roads. Also no fixed phones in the rooms and if you need something you’ve got to go to reception e.g. getting hot water for coffee. This is not convenient for us staying on the 3rd floor. Tap water for bathing is also a bit salty.
