Hello All Members,
Today, my Filipina Wife, and Myself, returned to Cebu, after having spent the past week, in Lovely Bohol, and for the benefit of any of you members whom may be planning a visit there, in the future , MAY I suggest to you of a VERY NICE resort, to stay. It is namely the ''FLOWER GARDEN RESORT'' , which is situated just behind the Expensive Alona Beach Resort. It is a real nice place to relax, amongst beautiful landscaped gardens ( hence it's name ), and only about 4 / 5 minutes to the gorgeous beach. The tariff is really cheap, in comparison to some of it's rivals' and I have NO hesitation in fully recommending it to one, and all. I am very grateful to the members whom initially introduced it to me, THANK YOU ALL,
Jim, and Rebecca,
Mabolo, Cebu City.

After several months of starting a new business in Manila going 24/7 I was dreaming of seeing Florence and Werner at Flower Beach. Arrived after midnight and were greeted with smiles. The morning is SO beautiful there, great breakfast and chat with our hosts. Several hours of snorkeling, sunbathing, and enjoying the sights and sounds of Flower Beach. The stress of city life passes away and you feel refreshed. I can't tell you how nice it is to sit with the staff and hosts at the resort. Their smiles are contagious! After a well-deserved nap my Boholana and I had dinner on the beach; great wine and food under the stars! It takes some time to get there from Tagbulurin but I guarantee you will not want to leave and you will count the days until you can return! Hope to see you soon Florence, Warner and staff; thanks for a great stay.

Spending ONLY approximately 50 USD on a house per night - I mean, this is at Bohol. Almost every resort there exceeds 70-80USD when you try to search for some places to stay online. These days you cannot set your expectations very high on a low cost rate for accomodation. But when we got here, I was really surprised. The house has its own receiving/living room area, a porch, a balcony, and 2 bedrooms. Very very neat. And the kitchenette? It has the set of plates of course, spoons, forks and knives, a rice cooker, a water heater, fry pans. The owners, Sigi and Mae, very accomodating and very nice (Sigi did the quick tour for directions and recommendations for eating), mentioned that they are 200m away from the calm white almost Boracay like beach. Unlike Boracay, Bohol is more calm and relaxing. Going back, I really recommend this place. However, you need to book in super advance because a lot of people prefer to stay here since it is cost efficient and everything is neat and sufficient. I really really recommend this place. :)

It was our first resort in Philippines and it left good impression on us.
We got Bungalow near the pool which was clean , had small kitchenette, aircon, TV and Fan.
Of course in-room bathroom with cold and hot water.
Resort is really nice decorated, had a lot of vegetation and plants, really well maintained.
Electricity was available all the time (comparing to Palawan island)
Owners, Swiss-Filipino couple, were very nice and helpful, arranged us all trips (and I think even w/o fee for them), answered all questions we had.
Currently the access to the Alona beach is thru town, 10-15 min walk or 30 pesos for tricycle
We had no problem to walk, as we felt safe all the time.
Another nice thing is in rooms you will find beer and water in the fridge, but comparing to Hotels, they were really good priced. If I recall 30 -35 pessos for a bottle. 60 pesos for 6L of water, so after long day on the beach you don't need to run to mini-market to buy few.
Tips and additional info:
1. Taxi tariff from Airport is fixed, 450-500pesos and it takes ~30min.
2. I suggest you will take a whole day trip to Chocolate hills, go to Taishere sanctuary to see those small cute creatures - go only to sanctuary as other places keep them in captivity, while in the sanctuary you walk thru their natural habitat and see them. Eat lunch in Bee farm restaurant. For all of that We had driver on minivan and payed 2000 for all of it.
3. Dolphin watch and snorkeling was nice, whole day trip cost us 1600 plus 300 fee.
The boat we had "came" unfortunately with really lazy boat men,who was not willing to look for dolphins in the water (and it was supposed to be a dolphin watching tour...) so it might be good idea make sure while booking a tour that they will make an effort in order for you see the dolphins (which actually not that difficult,it just takes time and a bit of patience). If you suffering from sea sickness it is a very good idea to take some medicine before you go on that tour, otherwise it can be a ruined day. The snorkeling was really fun (bring with you some bread to feed the fish, then you can see lots of them close to you) and the lunch of fresh grilled fish and seafood was terrific.

We are so lucky to have found this place. It has everything you need, cable TV, Wi-Fi, safe, comfort, kitchenette and privacy. Our cottage is in meticulous condition. Totally functional with very high A-frame ceiling, large bathroom, private porch all this surrounded by a.... flower garden. Family run with Innkeeper available at all times. Pool Water is crystal clear and the grounds meticulously maintained. The entire property is gated and set back quite away from the hustle and bustle of Alona Beach. A stroll to the beach and to the main drag. HIGHLY recommend this peaceful and charming getaway...

Stayed here for three nights in Feb 13. Rented House 3. Newly refurbished with good, low noise aircon. Clean and fully equiped, good beds and excellent bathroom. Asked for more towels and they were readily given by the hardworking young girls who do the cleaning. It's very laid back and the pool was quiet (no bar - hurray) so no thumpy music. The water was clean and cool on a hot day. The owner, Sigi, was a charming man, not intrusive, but there when you need him. Very much recommended.

We had a great stay here. We rented a small 2 storey house, clean, well kept, very good service. The location may be approx. 8min. walk from the beach, but is was ok. Actually, when leaving the beach, you can go through the Alona Tropical resort, and you'll reach the Flower gardin in 3 minutes from the beach. However, when going to the beach in the morning, you will be stopped by the guard of Alona Tropical resort.
