We stayed here because most other hotels/rooms were either fully booked or cost too much. Alona Beach/Panglao Island is a real beautiful area and it was no surprise there was a high demand for hotels/rooms in the area. Roberto’s is quite a way from Alona Beach, about 20 mins walk or 5 mins by bike/trike. The hotel is also in a dark area, with little in surrounding areas. We were able to rent a moped from the hotel, and the moped we had proved to have minor faults. The hotel has a nice courtyard with a large tub, and the staff were quite friendly. As for the room, you get what you pay for. The room perhaps lacked decor/furniture and there were a few safety concerns (wiring next to fridge), but everything worked ok. Air con was perhaps poorly positioned, so the room was quite hot at times. We weren’t sure whether to give this hotel 2 or 3 stars, but gave it 3 stars as we didn’t experience any real big problems. Chocolate Hills took about 2 hours each way, and we’ve had a lovely day out on the moped with friends.

Robertos Place is 2km approx from Alona Beach (where all the action is) so a but to far to walk in the heat. Robertos will hire you a moped for 400P (if you shop around in the town you can also get 400P), the moped will get you there quicker. Tricycles also pass by who will take 2 people for 40P (they will ask 100P). The rooms are a good size clean with AC (they have local fan room no bathroom for 800P). There is a jacuzzi which is a nice relief after a day travel. There is no food yet (they are building restaurant), there is a bar. There's is security 24hrs. The staff and Robertos (who hangs around sometimes) are friendly and very helpful. The downside is building work is ongoing but it starts 8am (not before).

Roberto's place is a clean and comfortable budget accommodation in a quiet spot but not too far away from the action of Panglao. The location is good (2km walk to Alona beach) but I do think a scooter is necessary to get around which can be arranged for 400-500 peso per day. This place got all the basics 100% right which is why I give a high rating, I had the best sleep here that I could remember, a really nice big and comfortable bed with just the right amount of bedding and with an older AC unit that seemed to keep the room at just the right temperature (for me). The room was cleaned daily, good hot water, and good wifi (not inside the room). I stayed in a double but they also have a dorm room which I didn't see inside, overall this place is a great budget option.

The bathroom was flooding with water for the whole stay and the toilet didn't flush. Otherwise everything worked out really well in our room and it was nice to have dinner on our own terrace. The food was good. There was loud music in the lobby until 10pm so if you want to go to bed early.. It's easy and really cheap to get to the beach. Extra towels provided when asked!

The resort is very reasonably prices, nice AC room for approx 1000 Peso and 10 minutes from Alona beach is really a good deal in Bohol. Just rent a scooter and you have everything within few minutes from you. The rooms are basic but clean and you will get all the required support from the staff. The service is also very nice. Make sure you negotiate for scooter and pay max 400 Peso also shoo away the vendors you find everywhere trying to see you trips. Overall a very value for money resort for couples or back packers.

As a backpacking couple we paid 1000pesos a night for a comfy queen bed, with good air con, a hot shower and even a TV (not that we watched it). It's approx 2km from the beach but a scooter can be rented here for 300pesos a day. The best bit is it's peaceful and quiet so a good night's sleep can be guaranteed. The owner (Caribbean/Canadian fella) is a great friendly bloke, if you manage to catch him. The staff are Filipino and also friendly and easy to deal with.

We booked to stay here for 1 night in a 6 bed dorm with a fan and air con! We planned on finding somewhere cheaper and closer to Alona Beach but we ended up staying here for 7 nights! It's a 5 minute moped ride to Alona Beach and the male manager will give free lifts if he's around. Otherwise it will cost between 20 and 40 pesos! You just hop on any moped that passes by. The room was fairly clean although my bed sloped away from the wall which was a bit uncomfortable but not unbearable. The toilets are ok and the shower is not bad although it would be nice not to have to shower next to the toilet in the same cubicle. The sink is also unplumbed so this needs to be fixed. We didn't see the owner at all when we stayed! The hotel did our laundry for us and at night there is a guard who opens the little gate for you. I would recommend staying here, it's nice and quiet, out of the way but close enough to Alona Beach! The wifi is good, The staff are really great and always happy to help! They also organised a trike to the port for 300 pesos which is what we paid when we arrived.

Stayed three nights in a private room. Clean and simple. We really appreciated daily cleaning. Good wifi connection. Staff is really sweet and helpful. Not really walking distance to Alona Beach and for other activities you'll need a scooter. We rented one from the reception and were chocked about the price. 450 pesos is the highest amount we have payed for a scooter throughout six months of travelling in South East Asia. It didn't seem fair at all. The reception also helped us get a taxi to the ferry terminal in Tagbilaran, for 600 pesos. We payed 200 pesos to get to the hotel three days earlier.

The staff was friendly, they let me park my motorbike inside the walls for the night, which I appreciated. The location is good, not in the center of the town, but near enough for being able to eat there, after a few minute drive. Wifi was working. Overall a good place to stay.
