June 2023 - Dined here several times during a stay at a nearby Alona Beach Hotel. Wish we would have found this earlier. Good food - good prices. Originally stopped in the attached deli - great selection of wine, beer, and food - in climate controlled room. Price for bottle of decent white wine was 450 PHP (one glass at our hotel costs 440 PHP for comparison). During one deli stop decided to get some draft beer at bar, menu looked interesting (mix of Swiss/Euro cuisine and Asian dishes. Calamari was tasty and tender, sausage (curry wurst) was good, schnitzel was perfection and a dish called Alplermagronen was comfort food heaven. Very homey bar atmosphere with friendly servers, decent pool table, cold beer. BTW the hotel grounds looked well kept.

I did book this hotel as many reviews are looks good but as my opinion there many (cons)minus matters. First of all restaurant open and inside even many fans should not be allowed smoking cause warm enough and smokes make it irresistable . The cleaners stingy to put enough towels even we kindly remind them second day they left only one shower towel but no face towel . Pool area is clean and enough sun chair but pool not enough filteration always many died flies on surface. Hotel location far from activities (beach restaurants and main road shops) especially day time you should really walk more than 10 minutes so cap or umberala protect from sun is vital (plus dusty and smelly road to walk) Pros restaurant waitress are friendly . Rooms are cleaned regularly . Their food selection good and well priced compare beach side tastless and expensive foods

Yesterday, I visited Tiptop hotel restaurant with my wife. We ordered beef tanderloin steak and spicy shrimp pasta with fruit shake. The steak was very delicious and the pasta was good! And they served Peter Luger’s steak source!! :) However, I couldn’t see the red meat although I ordered medium rare steak. Plz remember this when you order steak!

Been here 3 times with my wife and the food is great no matter what you order. It looks as made with love and care and the ladies taking your orders and nice, helpful and quite efficient. Location might not be the best since its not in the town center but its worth to walk those extra meters

I found this place after having intended to eat at the hotel tropical just down the road found they charged a ridiculous entrance fee I refused as was paying for a party of 8 people so in search of another restaurant came across Tiptop. The menu choice was vast and all of my party really enjoyed there food so much so that we came back to eat there another 3 times. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and did there best for you. On my next visit to Bohol will definitely be back to Tiptop for dinner and they coped well with my party of 8 and 1 night 9 people with good food and service. I have not stayed or seen any of the rooms but it seems a nice place.

We’ve stayed in Tip-top hotel for 3 nights. As a short stay accommodation Tip-top hotel is really good but room really needs an updated, especially bathroom plus better internet connection!! However It was very clean and bed was comfortable. Location is good as well, about 10 min walk from Alona beach. Restaurant is really great! Food is fresh and very tasty. Great value for money!

Werner runs a good operation. Family run business, married Swiss/Filippino couple with their son as head chef. Good sized rooms with comfortable beds. Hospitable staff, and nice Bistro downstairs with beer on tap. Swiss, German, and Filippino cuisine. Great value. A short walk to the beach. Bistro has lots of specials and live music occasionally.

We had a nice spacious room with a good air conditioner (a must in the heat!). There is a clean pool outlook from the balcony and friendly staff who can organise transfers and tours if needed. There is no direct access to the beach, but you can get an access pass which makes the beach a 2 minute walk away through a nice resort.

Really nice, quiet place to stay. Barely a 5 minute walk to Alona Beach, it's not as big and fancy as some others around, but offers fantastic value. Our room was clean and tidy, with a decent shower and good aircon. The breakfasts are also killer, with great coffee.
