We stayed here for two nights recently and did actually really enjoy our stay. The pros - very helpful and friendly staff always available (can book a number of tours from here), basic but comfortable rooms that appeared clean, lovely communal and garden area giving a quaint and cosy feel, and good breakfast. Cons - mainly I feel the price was more than the room was worth, specifically as it stated that we had an air conditioned room but when we arrived we were taken to a fan room. Later in our stay I noticed behind reception that the numbered rooms were divided into air con and non air con rooms, so I realised we had been purposely taken to the wrong one. That being said, we had awful weather while we were in Bohol so we're lucky that we didn't get too hot; if this was not

Stayed here for two nights and felt very relaxed and comfortable. The rooms are very basic, but have a cosy little charm to them. (The shower and tap especially, felt like they could be broken off if mishandled.) The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They provide a free tricycle to Alona Beach (which is a fifteen minute walk away) every evening after 6pm- a nice gesture, and they cook a lovely breakfast in the morning. There's two friendly dogs that like to sit next to you in the lounge area. As a previous review mentioned, it's down a dark alley, but you won't feel anything other than perfectly safe. The alley was particularly waterlogged and muddy the day we were there, so be careful what shoes you wear. Although I liked my stay, I couldn't help but

This place is quiet but has no real atmosphere Rooms are clean but rooms have fixed windows that don’t open! Ok if the aircon worked so you need to leave your door open with a mozzie cool. Felt like a prison if you closed the door.

Dear guests We are very sorry that you felt that way. You indeed booked a fan room and not an aircon room. So yeah it can get hot some time during the day. We are still offering those fan rooms (who can be less confortable that aircon rooms of course) so we can still propose a lower rates to our budget guests. After that was your choice to take it or not. Regards

This place is a short walk to the busy Alona beach, and set off the main road. It's pretty good value for money- basic and small. We booked an upstairs balcony room which was good to sit and watch the rain in the afternoon. The bed was a basic foam mattress, nothing overly fancy, and the bathroom was very minimal, bit run down but functional with hot water. The one thing that prevented us from sleeping was the in-wall evaporative air conditioner. It was really noise and the thermostat clunked on and off all night. I'd recommend asking for a room with a newer inverter air con if you want air con! We would've made do with a fan but there are no screens on the windows so you can't open up and air the place out at night. Staff were accomodating, and there are cute dogs and cats

We stayed at the Chill-Out Guesthouse for only one night. The rooms were clean, cool, and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and very green. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a good happy hour there and will arrange for free tricycles for guests during specific times. It was a short tricycle ride to Naty and Henry's Restaurant (which I recommend eating at) as well as to the beach and several other places to eat.
