If you're on a tight budget and you do not mind walking to the beach for at least 7 minutes, then Chillout is for you.

I loved the ambience of this guesthouse cos it was really relaxing. Their rooms are clean and generally okay -- don't expect much given the price of the rooms. The fan rooms also have verandas. We had good night sleep because it's very quiet in the area!

They have a lounge area with free wi-fi, where you can chill out with your friends. They'll pay for your tricycle rides to and from the beach area at night (from 6:00pm).

They have really nice service staff especially Ms. Theresa, their receptionist.

A great, basic accommodation near Alona beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. WiFi was fast and worked well. There is a free tricycle service to the main strip between 6pm and 10pm each evening, but to be honest we just walked most of the time (about 15 mins). The pathways are well lit and not dangerous. There is a small convenience store across the street from the hotel. For what you pay for the rooms, this place is fantastic.

We stayed at the Chill-Out Guesthouse for only one night. The rooms were clean, cool, and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and very green. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a good happy hour there and will arrange for free tricycles for guests during specific times. It was a short tricycle ride to Naty and Henry's Restaurant (which I recommend eating at) as well as to the beach and several other places to eat.

For the price, the Chill Out Guest House's amenities are remarkably nice. The rooms are clean, with lovely wooden floors, but no decoration. Our room had a nice firm queen bed. The bathroom needs brighter, warmer lighting. The wi-fi signal was exceptionally strong and constant. We requested and were provided a folding table and an extra chair so we could manage our e-mail correspondence (yes, we still use laptops, and work a bit as we travel).

The Chill Out is near the end of a winding alley, a short motor tricycle ride from the buzz and glamour of Alona Beach. The grounds of this eight room facility are pleasantly landscaped. A small restaurant by the check-in area serves a nice, reasonably priced breakfast.

The pleasant ladies who work at the Chill Out will get you oriented and can solve lots of small problems. Tragically, they say they're unable to solve a serious shortcoming: the fan room that we booked is unventilated!

Our 'fan room' had no windows that open and, therefore, no screens! Sleuthing detected the carcass of an air conditioner. Evidently management has chosen not to repair or replace it. We decided to keep the door shut to exclude the mozzies, so all our fan could do was push warm, humid air around our room all night. The Chill Out was full up (it was the eve of the Lunar New Year) so there were no other rooms to which we could be moved. We fled after two days. For this fiasco, subtract three blips, reducing our rating from 5 to 2.

I was looking for a quite place to relax and this place was perfect. If you rather stay close to the beach, better find somewhere else, the beach is about 15 minutes walk, but they pay for the tricycle after 6pm if you want to go for dinner and back, so this was nice. I stayed in the private bungalow with aircon, the bed was quite comfortable, and the room was spacious. There is a small balcony with garden views you can sit and relax. There's a common area you can have some drinks and meet other travellers. The staff is really nice, thanks to Teresa for being so nice and helpful during all stay. There is not many option in the menu, but since they will pay for the tricycle at night it was night to go to the beach for dinner. Breakfast was ok, nothing really special. Only complaint is that the tap water tastes a bit strange, you'll feel when you brush your teeth, the shower water pressure could be stronger, but it was hot. There was a leakage in the toilet which made the floor wet all day, I asked for some cloth to clean it and they came and cleaned it, so hopefully it will be fixed soon. The towels were not changed, instead they were hung out to dry, but they gave me clean towels when I asked for one. Wifi worked ok in the room, a bit slow but it worked, but it was better to use in the lounge. There is no TV in the room, but It didn't bother me as I don't watch much TV. There's is free filteres water you can refill your bottles, but it's not cold, and there is no minifridge in the room, so I missed having a cold water, but not a big deal. For the price I think it's worth it and would stay there again.

We were welcomed by the lovely staff of this relaxed resort at Alona. Only a 5-10 minutes walk to the beach and the center with the possibility to have yourself dropped off and picked up twice a day by a tricycle (service of the resort). Beautiful resort, quiet, good bed, warm shower, clean room, nice French owner. It's a pity we didn't have time to visit his restaurant......

The guesthouse is located a bit away from the beach and town (10 min walking), but offers free transfer into the town at night. The stuff is wonderful! Room is ok and clean, but the bathroom would need a bit of an update. They have a wonderful garden.

Simply the best guest-house in Panglao. For a reasonable price, you can get a fan/AC room in a native place. But the added value of the place is the fiendlyness of the staff there. Not only Fred but all the staff will make you feel home in Chill-out! Each time i stay in Bohol, I dont hesitate, i stay there! You won't regret.

I stayed at 1st floor Air-conditioned room for 4 days. Since the reputation was good on Trip adviser, but the result was miserable. It was like a jail.

Room 2/5...Musty and Dank.
Bath/toilet 1/5...Low pressure hot shower. No fan toilet. Dark.
Internet Access 1/5...No room internet was available. Accessibility from reception area is also quite bad.
Environment 1/5....Smoky air since the hotel is located among houses that use bonfire for cooking.
Restaurant 1/5...The hotel restaurant exists but quite expensive. For example Sprite (around 250ml) was 40 peso but you can order it for 15 peso in other restaurant along beach. Also, There is nothing around hotel but houses.
Access to beach 1/5..It takes around 15mins. You can short cut it to 5-7mins if you cross the other hotels area. Anyway, it tkaes time to reach the center of beach where many shop locate. it's dangerous at night since there is light along road.
Employee 4/5...Employees are well trained. Kind.
Tips...This hotel has an own generator so you can use electricity when black out.

Because of above reasons, I changed hotel that is closer to beach. The price was same level but the quality became much better than this chill out guesthouse. I regret I booked for 4 days in advance via net since the reputation was good... I recommend you simply come to alona beach and ask local guys about hotels.

My boyfriend and I arrived at Bohol last Nov 22, 2014 and stayed at this place. The manager was so accommodating and very friendly. Upon arrival, she will sit down with you and orient you with all the tips you need to know in Bohol. The staff were so friendly as well they will greet you everytime they will see you. Our room was so cozy and very clean. The restroom has hot & cold shower and quite big. They have a safe box for important documents, jewelries and money. They also have a veranda outside the room with a native sofa wherein you can just sit, drink beer, listen to the crickets and relax. The theme of their rooms was native so one can really enjoy the Filipino living. Their food was yummy and the price was cheap. The area was just a 3 minute walk to the beachfront. They have wifi access in the room and in the lounging area. Overall, our stay in this place was fabulous. Highly recommendable place for every tourist. Enjoy guys!!! 😊
