This is a fantastic resort but having the pool room was the icing on the cake.
Our stay was for 10 nights which meant that we could have our breakfast at Christina’s rather than the buffet.
The buffet breakfast is fantastic but at Christina’s things are a bit more personal with table service.
The staff there are really a credit to the hotel.
The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained by the staff and the pools are fantastic with swimming allowed in the pools until late into the night.
Food and cocktails at the beach bar are a definite must whilst watching the sunset or you can choose to eat at the buffet inside or have your meal outside whilst listening to the evenings entertainment.
Location is very good too with local bars and restaurants close by.
We will definitely go back again.
We felt fortunate to have a room in the corner ( room 1047) away from the bar area as it was much quieter and private. We made use of the pools near the beach as well , but always enjoyed coming back to our room with our patio with direct pool access. BLISS!
Christina’s restaurant was our favourite for breakfast - this comes highly recommended and was included in our room rate ( added bonus).
For dinner we went to the buffet at the Sea Breeze Cafe and a la carte at Christina’s. Both were excellent dining options with fabulous food but again our preference was Christina’s as the service was excellent ( Thankyou Jensen and Ravina) and we preferred the quietness of their dining area.
Alona Beach itself I found underwhelming , it wasn’t clean , the sand was dirty and it was very noisy. So we didn’t make use of that at all.
We organized day trips snorkelling, island hopping, to the Tarsier Sanctuary and the Chocolate Mountains and they were all lots of fun.
The staff at the Henann are obviously very well trained as their service was impeccable.
I highly recommend this resort.
The staff was very accommodating and extended pleasantries every time.
Our room had this pool access that is simply amazing and which we highly recommend if you want to have the ultimate stay experience. Imagine dipping yourself in the pool while enjoying wine at you own private space, and waking up to have another dip prior to breakfast.
The food was excellent - their prime eye though a bit pricey but the flavor is superb and can rival that of some of Manila’s best steaks. They also have a good list of wine selection. For pasta — go for the truffled New Zealand mussels and sardines. They have a good dinner buffet selection for less than 1k every Friday and Saturday.
Their beach area is the most manicured along Alona beach and plenty of beach beds/chairs to enjoy the best view of the sunset— while enjoying happy hour 3-7pm with their buy 1, take 1 cocktails and beers. Cap the night off with a relaxing massage at Kai spa or in your room — guaranteed you'd wake up the next day feeling all refreshed
Transpo to/from airport of pier is easy breezy and better get their services instead of those vans outside. They basically have the same rates.
Hennan truly locks up everything luxurious you can think of. Stop planning on how to come up with a good stay because they have everything covered.
Just prepare your credit card and swipe it up and prepare to be swept away.
The resort is a 15min drive from the airport and offer a shuttle for PHP 200 per head. The room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the many pools. It was very comfortable with a queen size bed, couch, writing table and TV. The bathroom too was large with a bathtub and a shower area.
Breakfast spread was good too with many options: cereals, fruits, ham, cheeses, breads, pastries, local specialties like Adobo, Pancit Bohol, garlic rice, hash browns, yoghurts, jellies, juices, 3 flavours of pancakes and waffles, French toast, salads, Conjee....etc.
The best part of the resort for me was the swimming pools! They have 4 huge, beautiful pools, that allow everyone their bit of privacy and space.
The resort is in the main city and a short walk to a bit of local shopping and restaurants - both on the beach and on the Main Street.
We had 2 room service meals, a snack (potato wedges) which was terrible - they served better wedges for breakfast and a Pancit Bihon which was really good.
One thing I would suggest is a free shuttle pick-up and drop to the airport.
They provide a buffet breakfast and their food service is also very good and safe. there are al fresco seating. The food selection is the same with their restaurant, sea breeze.
They also offer dinner buffet at sea breeze for about P900.00 per head without drinks. The selection for dinner buffet was ample and there are very tasty offerings as well.
The location of Hennan is at the end of the stretch of Alona White Sand Beach and is very near other establishments and restaurants along the beach. There is a Mc Donalds and a 7Eleven store near by, especially of you walk along the beach.
overall, this is a really great property and families can feel safe to stay and eat here.
thank you Hennan for the incredible stay. will recommend this property to anyone, especially families with kids.
The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and we got an upgrade from our initial reservation.
We booked this resort because it's one of the biggest in Bohol. This was important for us because we wanted to make sure that it was safe for our kids to practice social distancing.
But, two swimming pools were closed. Even at 50% capacity, we still would have appreciated having a choice to go to other pools with less guests. That being said, the two pools that were open could have been cleaned better since so many guests were using them.
The resort could also improve their food choices as well. We felt safe staying in at the hotel, instead of eating at other establishments. But they really need to have more options for food.
On more than one occasion we ordered room service for dinner, the food trays that we ate from were left out and not collected by staff until the midday the next day. And we had to call to remind them to clear it.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
