We stayed here for 10 nights and had a great time. One of the few places with two bedrooms, includes kitchen facilities, nice balcony. Beautiful frangipani, coconut and fan palm trees Pool was great - the bedrooms were serviced daily and comfortable, with good aircon. Reliable wifi. Having to pay upfront in cash was not ideal on our arrival. Had to fix the shower. The large 50 pesos water cooler refills were great - tapwater tasted very nasty. The resort is quiet at night as it is away from all the noisy bars/restaurants. Swiss manager very helpful and staff even found us a toaster and hairdryer for our stay and a wheelchair for a relative in another apartment.

We visited as a family and had 2 Cottages. The rooms were very spacious, clean and quiet. There is a kitchen but we did not use. The Staff and the Owners are very Helpful and even helped us book our New Year Dinner on the Beach. They also helped book all the tours we needed and it was very well managed. The staff took care of all our needs and provided everything we asked for immediately. The resort is at a 7-8 minutes walk from the beach but is very close to all the good restaurants in Panglao. This would be a 5 Star except that there is no on-site restaurant. But there was a restaurant for breakfast just next door.

We stayed for three nights in Alona Swiss resort. The complex itself is set in a very pleasant complex away from the noisy road, however we struggled to sleep as light sleepers due to the roosters next door. Unfortunately I can’t award more than three stars as we really did struggle to get any sleep during our stay here.

Pros
The host (Swiss guy) was absolutely lovely and a true gent.
Location is away from the main road so very peaceful during the day
Nice areas to lounge around by the pool with beautiful trees and plants to gaze at
Extremely good value for money
Room was a decent size considering money paid
Shower was great, one of the most powerful we’ve had in Asia so far :-)
The security guard in the day time was a total legend

Cons
We really struggled with the noise of animals, namely roosters/cockerels screaming at each other every hour from 1am. I could even hear them through my ear plugs. This was worse than usual for Philippines and Asia having travelled for around three months. Perhaps it was just the room we had however when I mentioned the trouble sleeping to the receptionist (lady) she didn’t seem very interested. A shame as the other guy (believe the owner) was lovely.
The pool was also quite dirty, lots of dead flies and insects in it. Yes, to be expected in this environment however they didn’t seem to make an effort to scoop them out regularly as was the case with other resorts.
Note there is no restaurant, so you have to leave the resort for breakfast etc. Shaka across the road however is a great place and thoroughly recommended!
Odd bathroom design with toilet right by shower which made drying a bit of a challenge - although not the end of the world.

This place is a great stop over if you are a heavy sleeper, to avoid the roosters it may be worth paying a little more for a villa / bigger room which are located in a different section. Not an option for us as in a backpacker budget.

We stayed at Alona Swiss Resort for 1 night and we had a wonderful stay! The staff are very accommodating! The owner even gave us a complimentary beer when we are enjoying the pool and jacuzzi! The room was decent and spacious, with wifi, and balcony where we can enjoy the view. This is 5 mins walk if you want to explore the Alona Public beach. We will definitely go back!

I stayed here with my partner for her birthday and was pleasantly surprised. The location is ideal to visit restaurants and bars in Alona. Room was clean, had a mini fridge, quiet aircon and warm shower. The door used a key card lock for safety. All the staff was really friendly, including the night guard. I informed the resort in advance of my partners birthday and they decorated the room which was really nice so I could not be happier with my stay!

We stayed here last 3/11-3/14 for my birthday celebration and our experience was a blast. Resort was pretty, peaceful and well maintained. We came in early before for our check in time and our room was not yet ready because of the current guests who extended their stay. We didn't mind waiting for approx 30 mins to get in our room, the receptionist offered us drinks. Rooms were clean and comfy, ACs were working well, kitchen has a fridge, stove and utensils ready for use. Cable TV and WiFi access were absolutely cool. Garden and poolside are awesome. Bathroom has built in water heater, refreshing to use. We had clogged water in the toilet during our last day but they immediately sent a plumber and housekeeping to clean up the mess. Resort staff are friendly and courteous. ASR is not that far from the beach, entrance is a little bit rocky, getting in and out when you pass by the narrow street is a fun experience, you will be amazed that the property is very convenient because it's near to restaurants and grocery stores. ASR is highly recommended for families and groups who wants to have their simple but best Bohol Experience ever.

The resort is build very well and certainly stands out in quality and prices, when compared to similar resorts. Guest rooms could be "cleaner".

Overall, you get what you pay for and more.

Alona Swiss Resort is a new-ish resort located near Alona Beach, Charts Resort and Panglao Regents Resort. The place looks exactly like the pictures on their website, so you know what to expect.

Location: Not bad. This is not a beachfront property, but it is only an 8-10 minute walk to Alona Beach. You can also just ride a tricycle going there -- pretty cheap at P10/person. It is located a bit on the inner roads -- a good thing is that it is peaceful and quiet, a disadvantage though is that there is a short, poorly-lit path that you have to pass through get to the resort. It can be a bit scary at night, but we got through without harm anyway.

Rooms: For us, this is the best thing about the resort. Rooms are spacious, new and very clean. They do not provide any toiletries, though, so bring/buy your own.

We experienced staying in the rooms and the apartment, and I would highly recommend both. The apartment is excellent for four people, with 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, 2 baths, living area, dining area and fully-equipped kitchenette. Electronic safe is available in the rooms. Mini-bar is adequately stocked (beverages only) at very reasonable prices. There is also a good-sized balcony overlooking the pool. This is a steal for Php2500! Other resorts offer much less at a higher price.

Facilities: The resort has a pool and jacuzzi. It is of a good size and since there are only a total of 8 rooms in the entire resort, it rarely gets crowded. There are lounge chairs and some tables and seating near the pool, great for small groups!

There is also free WiFi! It can be a bit choppy inside the rooms, but signal is pretty strong outside. Then again, my friend was able to stream videos (YouTube) from inside the apartment, so I guess it depends on your device as well. I was using my iPhone in trying to check my mail and the signal was weak in some spots.

Service: Good, when available. Rosalie at the front desk is very accommodating and easy to talk with. Only problem is that there's no 24-hour service. When we needed an extra blanket and towels even early in the night (around 8:30PM), there was nobody there to assist us. To be fair, the guard on duty tried to find his way around the storage room, only to discover that the cabinets are locked. Also, don't expect room service. The resort does not serve food, but it is very near Charts Resort where you can grab some sandwiches or German pancakes at the cafe. Or walk down a bit and find the many stores and eating places along the road going to Alona Beach.

Overall: Very good. For the price, it's hard to beat. This is a great place to stay for couples and groups alike.
