A beautifully & thoughtfully restored house coupled with an excellent service way above a 3-star rating. Breakfast was also excellent and really could not have been better. We have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. We hope to be back agin for a short stay very soon.

We stopped here for one night, for the second time after almost a year. First time it was a nice surprise, now It has been, a very pleasant confirmation. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. The room we had is large, with a well-equipped bathroom. Everywhere is spotless clean. The plentiful breakfast we have been offered (salty and sweet) was freshly prepared. We had an excellent coffee.

t was our second time in Casa della Fornace. Looks like small ethno village. Very good location for exploring that part of Italy, Venice, Palmanova outlet ( who likes shopping, just 5 min.), Lignano sabiadoro, Verona is 2 hours drive. One of the best room I ever seen, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very rich. Owners Eleonora and Alessandero are very kind and helpful. Thanks for making our vacation pleasant. We will come again.

Eleonora and her husband put a lot of effort to refurbish an old "bongo" into a bed&breakfast place. Wooden beams and stone are main building materials of borgo and one can see that nothing there is just made for the short term benefit. All is solid and well made, just as the service Eleonora and her husband have organised for their clients. Right from welcoming us, showing us list of good places to go in the neighbourhood to the nice breakfast they serve in their own kitchen, Eleonora and her husband are working hard to provide great service. We had two rooms. Both of them were very big and well organised, mixing antiquities with comfort. Bathrooms were also very nice and spotlessly clean big spaces with crispy clean white towels. Breakfast is hearty, offered in the landlords kitchen. Local specialities such as Friuli ham and speck, gubeta strudel, all types of eggs and freshly brewed coffee was offered to us. Eventhough, you may find that this place is not on the main road, but in the side village, it is very well worth it to stay in CASA DELLA FORNACE. Apart from the great accommodation, it is close to famous Aquilea monastery, Palmanova village reknown for arial look of a palm, etc.

I was on my way to Palmanova Outlet and a had to book something near. Casa Della Fornace was a pleasant surprise. A rustic house near a corn field, family operated, build on an old pottery factory. The building was perfectly refurbished with original pieces of furniture.

We stayed at Casa Della Fornace only for one night passing through Italy. It is an amazing Vila, restored by the owners, with old and new things in a perfect mix. It is very clean and the room is big and well equipped. The owners are very attentive and warm, the breakfast is good, prepared with care by them. I would definitely stay here again!

Very friendly, welcoming, lovely place very comfortable. Couldn't have been better. We stayed on our way home as the place is close to Trieste airport. Visited nearby Palmanova in the evening where we enjoyed a good meal and a classical concert in the square. Magical.

We were forced to book a place quickly because our previous plans fell through (snow closed the roads in Austria!). When we spotted B&B Casa della Fornace on Trip Advisor, we thought we’d take a chance. We knew nothing of the area but it was on the way to our next planned stop, Venice. What a serendipitous experience this turned out to be! Eleonora and Alessandro, our hosts, were so charming. We know only a few words in Italian but they valiantly spoke to us in English…quite appreciated by us. They have been lovingly restoring this B&B for over ten years (they have some amazing pictures documenting the transformation) and their love of this place is palpable. The rooms, including the public rooms, are beautifully decorated. Someone has a very artistic eye and excellent taste! Our room was huge, including a large bathroom with a wonderful shower/sauna. The view of fields was so peaceful and relaxing. Yes, San Vito al Torre is a remote little spot, but well worth the drive. In an effort to find a place for dinner, we drove to Palmanova (a fascinating town in its own right, but that’s a whole other story). As luck would have it, there was a festival going which included flag throwing (have you ever seen Under the Tuscan Sun?). How lucky for us! Anyway, I digress. Breakfast at Casa della Fornace was delicious. It included prosciutto, cheeses, orange juice, and a special cake indigenous to the area (according to Eleonora). During breakfast the hosts told us about interesting places in their area. They even pulled out some books to tell us more of the history of the area. Clearly they have a love of their home, their area, their culture. How lucky for us that they were so willing to share this love with us. We were made to feel so comfortable and had a thoroughly enjoyable visit. All this for only 60 Euros a night. What a fantastic deal! Thank you, Eleonora and Alessandro!
