We stayed two nights while traveling from Wisconsin to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary at the Asbury Outpouring in Wilmore. Several less-than-stellar reviews left me hesitant to book any of the options nearby but we decided on the Residence. While I understand that some reviewers have legitimate gripes, this was a lesson in giving more weight to recent reviews and overall ratings than to the dissatisfied ones. We were VERY pleased with almost everything about our stay. Very pleasant and helpful staff, nice room (king studio), clean, super comfy bed and pillows (we like soft/fluffy), full-size refrigerator with ice maker and full, fresh ice bin, good location (easy, short drive to Asbury). A big “well done” to all those responsible for the hospitality we experienced. Two things that I think they could improve on: the pool temperature (about 75 according to the thermometer and too cold IMO, but hot tub was nice and more important to us) and breakfast selections which were okay but not at the same standard of just about everything else we experienced. I think they would do well to expand their food area (not seating area but where they put out food) as they’re pretty limited by the current space available. Totally will stay again though if we’re ever back in the area.…
19 of us got together in Lexington for our annual mini reunion. We chose the Residence Inn because of Kristen in the group reservation office! She was amazing to work with and gave us a great deal. We had people coming in from Washington State to Washington DC. She made sure the shuttle was available to get us to and from the airport. And the driver Bre was there to help us get around the area going out for dinner. Beautiful hotel and great staff!!
Driving from Denver to the East Coast for Christmas, we made several hotel reservations along the way. One of these was the Residence Inn Lexington Keeneland/Airport. After 9 hours in the car, we had to wait over 10 minutes for the front desk person (whom we later learned was the hotel manager) to come out from the back room (she claimed she was on the phone back there). We got the keys to our room and brought our bags upstairs, noticing that the floor of the lobby and elevator were filthy. When we got to our room, it was clear the housekeeping here was also subpar. We were too tired to switch rooms but we later regretted staying in that room. The bed was horrible, the worst night’s sleep we’ve ever had. Each time me or my husband changed position, the other was tossed up in the air. It was like trying to sleep on an air mattress. We told the desk clerk at checkout and he gave us a $50 credit. This is the only time I’ve been in a hotel and didn’t see any housekeeping carts anywhere, so no wonder the place was dirty. With the lack of concern over the cleanliness of the facility, along with the terrible bed, I would not recommend staying there.…
When you walk through the door you step into their beautiful expansive sitting area (also used for their breakfasts) and you’ll fall in love with the place! Quick check-in, check-out. Our room was fantastic: -kitchenette with dining table and chairs, frig, micro, dishwasher, and coffeemaker -massive couch and ottoman -king bed, nightstands on both sides -separate sink area, large closet, and enclosed tub/toilet area. The layout was fabulous in one large room. TV rotates from sleeping area to the sitting room. Plenty of outlets, including USB. Breakfast was excellent: -Juices, coffee (including cold brew), teas -good thick oatmeal, cold cereals, yogurts with LOADS of toppings -many more hot items including red potatoes, scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, muffins with egg and cheese, and French toast We could see that outdoors had seating as well, along with a grill, but it was much too chilly for that! Great place-wish we needed to stay longer! Don’t hesitate to book here!…
Unkept and dirty. This sums up the condition of this Residence Inn. We checked in late at night, into a 2 bedroom suite. The room had a terrible unpleasant smell, and the beds were sloppily made - almost looked slept in. The bathroom floors were dirty - hair and dirt in the corners. And no carpeted surface seemed to have been vacuumed in days - including the hallways and elevators. Just a very yucky feeling and I didn’t want to spend a minute longer in the room than necessary. We stayed here two nights and never once saw a housekeeping staff member. Our room was never serviced. An overall unpleasant experience.
As a long time Marriott member this was just bad in too many ways. Our room wasn't clean or in good condition. The main TV had wires and boxes hanging from it (like it wasn't worth it to snake the lines in the wall?) , the refrigerator hadn't been wiped out and the tile floor was chipped, there were bare spots in the carpet in the main sitting area, temperature controls weren't accurate and the windows didn't open. Staff - as we were sitting outside in the courtyard one afternoon, my room key didn't work to get inside and the staff at the two Front Desk just ignored me -- even when I knocked. I went to another door and it opened. There's more - the second room where my son and his wife stayed had issues too -- gross mildewed ceiling in shower / tub, smell in the room. So two rooms full of misses. It doesn't look like this was a one off. Might be time to find a new home base.…
Not from here . I enjoyed my stay in this hotel but major problem needs work with staff. the staffing needs major work with being professional . Only person I seen helping me was a lady name Tina. Not to mention the fact that at one time I witness her being insulted and harassed by one of the guest . I really hope that person no longer stays in the hotel but I felt bad for her . Please train your employees to be better people .
It was a little mini suite , carpet needed updated bug staff friendly good for extended stay. Fill fridge etc airport pick up drop off and continental breakfast only draw back not gluten free and problem bath
My wife and I stayed here as they refinished our hardwood floors, so we were here for nearly a week. We had a very spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath suite. Very clean. The property is very well maintained with an indoor pool and hot tub. What made our stay special was Jean at the front desk. She was always looking out for our needs and if she could help out with anything. 5 star Marriott performer in my book. Also, Amnal, who provided a beautiful breakfast offering every day, with a pleasant smile and hello. Highly recommend.
We used this hotel in 2019 for a birthday weekend since we could rent a 2 bedroom suite and have everyone in one location. The room was nice and plenty of room. There was a large crack in one of the doors which seemed like someone tried kicking it in at some point which to me seems like something maintenance would attempt to fix. Breakfast ends at 9 am so if you like to sleep in and enjoy free hotel breakfast, this isn't the place for you. The pool was FREEZING cold but the kids didn't seem to mind. The hot tub was broken so it made the cold pool even worse. Overall the stay wasn't horrible but there werea few things that could have made it better.
