Detailed Reviews

This inn is in a practical location to explore the whole Trinity-Bonavista peninsula. It used to be the manager’s house of the fishing company on the same street. As such it offers 4 nicely decorated rooms on the 1st floor, each with its own bathroom (nice toiletries, soft towels and plush bathrobes). The room itself was a tad narrow, but there was enough space for a very comfortable queen bed, a fridge and a bureau. On the other hand, the bathroom was quite spacious! Everything was spotless. Wi-fi and t.v. worked great. Nice view on the harbor. Free parking across the street (note that the buildings nearby are undergoing renovations). On the ground floor, a living room was available for guests wishing to read and relax.
Breakfast was excellent! We were offered 3 choices. The pancakes just melted in your mouth and the toutons (fried bread) were a discovery.
The owners obviously loved their work and know how to make their guests comfortable. We had very nice stay for a fair price.

The Harbourside Inn is a true gem - we stayed here in early August 2024 and enjoyed our stay so much. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The historic building has been tastefully renovated, there is even a communal sitting room for the guests with coffee and tea and many books on the area. Our double room was very clean and had a nice view.
Brad's breakfast is delicious - we usually don't eat big breakfasts, but this would have been too good to miss! He also provided us with great lunch boxes for our day trips.
I wish we could have stayed longer - thank you!

Harborside is at the center of an exciting restoration of Port Union, and we fully benefitted from the perfect work of the current founders of Harborside. The building's restoration kept the best details from its proud past, but updated it to be clean, fully equipped, and a beautiful focus for the rest of the work being done. We had an upstairs room, overlooking the bay; it was well appointed, quiet, and charming. There was a common room downstairs with a library and table for meeting other guests, and a delicious traditional breakfast was served including toutons with molasses. Because there were few dinner options in Port Union, we headed to Skipper's in Bonavista for fresh seafood!!!

The Harbourside Inn was a great place to stay on the Bona Vista Peninsula. It was easy to access all the area attractions from this location. The owners have thought of everything to make a stay here welcoming and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious and substantial and are prepared to order when you arrive at the table. Brad is well acquainted with the area and provided information and advice on area attractions and restaurants. Great place to stay and one we will recommend to friends and family.

We were fortunate enough to get a room at this beautiful restored old home, while we did the Discovery trail drive. The owners Brad and Tania are very friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you have a lovely stay.
The rooms are a good size, with a fridge and very comfortable beds. Nice touches added with Bathrobes and local toiletries made in Nfld.
The breakfast was amazing! Great choices and all cooked from scratch. I can’t say enough about this place and the owners.
The location is perfect! You can do the discovery trail on one side one day, and another side the next. This is what we did. The Inn is a perfect location to start out from.
Port Union is interesting and under renovation, with the Factory section. The small boardwalk is nice to walk along and look for fossils. The gitft shop is amazing too!
Will definately be back!

Port Union is a unique town and convenient to many others as it is between Bonavista and Trinity. Our stay at the Harbor Side Inn was wonderful. Brad and his family own and run the place and really make you feel at home. There are several nice touches like coffee in the living room for early risers, a mini fridge filled with water and a common room. The bed was really comfy. Breakfast was really good, with some interesting options. We had the “Banana Split Parfait” with yogurt, fruit and granola, but the bacon at the next tabled smelled really good. They also operate as a full service lunch restaurant, but we didn’t get to try it. There is lots of redevelopment going on in Port Union, so it and the Harbor Side Inn should only get more interesting with time.

The Harbourside Inn and Cafe is new to the area, and we have returned several times for lunch.
They have just started serving dinner, and this evening my wife and I enjoyed a delicious Beef Stroganoff with salad, and wine.
Good food, nice atmosphere, and outstanding value
The Harbourside Inn and Cafe is a welcome addition to our local food scene.

This was a great stay with engaging hosts. Tanya and Brad did a wonderful job of renovating a grand house in a beautiful location. The accomodation was very comfortable and breakfast was scrumptious. Brad and Tanya could not have been more accommodating. We'd love to return for another visit and would stay longer. Port Union is a charming place with more of Newfoundland's greatest assets, the citizens who are warm, inviting, hospitable and deservingly known for great sense of humor. Close by are many worthwhile things and places to see. The Elliston puffin area is especially fun. It was a great stay.

Harbour view Inn B&B was absolutely amazing. Located within an easy drive to Bonavista , Trinity, Elliston, and so many local attractions. We were offered a
several choices for breakfast, but personally I found the blueberry (local) pancakes incredibly delicious. My husband looked forward to the traditional breakfast with great anticipation. Our room was large with a lovely bathroom. Tanya and Brad made us so welcomed and offered several suggestions to visit in the area!

Our friends and coworkers enjoyed an amazingly tasty Christmas Turkey Dinner and all the trimmings last evening hosted by Brad and Tanya. The dinner was delicious, the dining area was so cozy, comfortable and decorated for the holiday season. We all had a wonderful experience.
