The staff was very helpful in giving us a room when I didn’t make reservations and they were only running at half capacity due to staffing issues. The lodge is past it’s prime and needs a complete overhaul. The WiFi and tv are awful. Both are satellite. Three of us in one room and only one ata time could get online. If you like sports or news you will like the tv. Restaurant had good food but was carry out only. No breakfast. Stay was ok, but will go on to Hazard at stay at a hotel next time.

The lodge is older and well maintained. Gorgeous views from our room and quiet too! We came in just for one night, and the room was great! Because of the time of year and Covid, some things were not open at the park. We could see the beach and the boat marina from our private balcony. I would definitely stay again when traveling in that area or for a second honeymoon trip!

Buckhorn Lake State Park is beautiful with the friendliest staff, delicious food, and comfortable accommodations. The lodge is older but well maintained with the most amazing views. There is putt putt golf, hiking trials, pontoon rentals, beach, great boat dock with wonderful staff for families or business conferences. Buckhorn offers an amazing experience in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We were only there for one night, but it was very relaxing. We had a very nice view from our patio. They are dog friendly, although they do charge. They have a restaurant where we had a very nice buffet meal. Everyone was very friendly.
