This place is horrible. It’s run by a Indian family who are downright con artists! They will try anything they can to charge you additional money after you check in. The pool smells like fish. And the women who runs this hotel is the most unprofessional women I’ve ever met.
Nothing remarkable, but well kept and pleasant. I would stay there again rather than at one of the big chains. Nice pool area. Plenty to see and do in Independence. Staff kept the ample breakfast well supplied.
Great room. Fantastic price. Very helpful staff. Older hotel but still in good shape. Carpet is a little exotic but clean. Beds were comfortable. Noise level Minimal. At 30% less that the big chain hotels, very much worth looking at. The staff let is look at the room before we unloaded our luggage. Indoor pool. Breakfast was ok.
If I could give this a zero rating, I absolutely would. I travel and stay in a lot of hotels for work. This is by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. From the appearance of the room, the rooms aren’t cleaned—just tidied with beds made and clean towels provided. Hopefully those towels were thoroughly cleaned because one of them was actually labeled “Pool.” For starters, the bathtub/shower had someone else’s hair clumps in it, staining throughout the tub buttom, and dirty smears and shampoo streaks along the inner shower shelf ledge. There was trash and debris scattered on the bathroom floor. The bathroom mirror had gross debris sprayed on it. The whole carpeted floor was so gross and full of dirt, debris, and another person’s garbage. I kept my flip flops on the entire time. The bed spreads were visibly soiled with what appeared to be bodily fluid and food smears. The table between the beds had such thick dust covering the phone and table, as well as crumbs and litter from another guest piled on the table. It felt like I walked into a crime scene. The pictures really don’t do justice to the gross atrocities I discovered. I didn’t really have a choice—I needed to shower before a work event—so I did wearing flip flops. Absolutely did not spend the night here. The room was one of the dirtiest grungiest places I’ve ever seen in a hotel. I hardly doubt that room had ever been cleaned. Highly recommend do not stay here until this hotel is searched by the health department (or possibly condemned). This place badly needs an upgrade and overhaul in standards of cleanliness. …
Stayed in the Executive Suite, when we arrived the front desk was very welcoming and nice. Check in was smooth and easy and explained a little about the amenities as we were doing the check in process. Room was clean and very presentable, everything worked in the room had a very nice and quiet stay. Hot tub in room was clean and very comforting room setup is nice and feels well put together. Movie theater is right across the street quick and easy to get to for a fun time.
I was quoted a price over the phone when I made reservation and when I checked in they raised the rate.Desk clerk was rude and argued on and on basically arguing with herself. Would not honor price quoted on phone. Sheets were worn out, didn't feel or look clean, lumpy mattress.Bathroom tiny, no stopper in old dinged up tub.Small, thin towels. The whole room and hotel had a feeling of not being very clean.
Very nice and clean hotel. A good value for the money. Helpful staff and a indoor pool and hot tub as well. Located downtown and within walking or a short drive to anywhere. 15 min from the trxtron facility.
Upon arrival front desk was not cheery or welcoming. Rude senior citizen. Had to pay for room at check in, this was odd. Clerk Jammed cc in machine 3xs as cc machine internet was not connecting. As if...bending my brand new cc was going to make the internet connection faster! Room was presentable. TV wires were not connected. Refrigerator clean no odor. Room hint of cat urine. Tub needs new stopper and anti slip strips with a good bleach clean up to remove stains. Shower water doesn't get hot but maxes out at a teaser warm! Toilet seat needs replaced no excuses, its urine stained and chipped. Tissue box empty. Mattress and pillows stained. Mattress had no liner or pad to cover it, sheet only. Did not use microwave. Coffee in room was stale. Breakfast Saturday at 7 am. Clean counter, fresh mini muffin and cinni rolls. Wrapped pastries and muffin available. Make your own waffles, biscuit and sausage gravy, juice, milk, cereal, eggs, sausage. Hot tub and pool clean. Pool area was clean and maintained. Night clerk helpful and attentive and kept the place under control and safe. She deserves a big raise!…
I have stayed at the Apple Tree Inn several times in the past but after this stay I would not stay again. The mattress was lumpy and squeezed each time you moved. There was a metal strip from the bed frame hidden under the bed skirt. The first night our garbage was not emptied and the 2nd night our room was not made up at all. The table leg was held on with a metal brace screwed to the outside and the floor lamp nearly toppled each time you turned it on. The breakfast was not appetizing at all so I stuck to prepackaged stuff. The coffee was watered down so it would go further.
Be sure they explain their cancellation policy. I called to cancel the day of my arrival, was advised I cannot cancel, under 24 hours, and my credit card used to hold the room WILL be charged, even if we are not there. Claim is they lose that business. Really now? If you cancel mine and show availability you can sell the room again. Very rude and very hard to deal with. Never darken their door
