We booked for 4 days but are staying for 3 weeks, beautiful gardens and the staff are so helpful we were planning to go to another island but what's the point. Food is first class and the owner Rene is so friendly, the rooms are very clean, so quiet and peacefull would recommend to anyone 10/10. Andy and Anne Jones

Garden Bungalows is the best place to unwind from your busy city life. The owners Rene and Jennifer were so keen to our needs - with Gina, Liza and Malou. The place is beautiful and immaculately clean, quite and serene. The garden, the pool with jacuzzi its all so amazing. You can watch while on your bed the beauty of the garden with the hills in background and the clouds and blue sky above. I would definitely recommended this beautiful place to all my friends Our sincere thanks to our gracious hosts - Rene and Gingging, Bong for your hospitality and for Boy for touring us around the island Our overall rating for Garden Bungalows is superb with fast internet too! We will definitely come back again and again and again

Looking for “Bed and Breakfast“ with a quite place? Garden Bungalows is the perfect one. We stayed in this place for few days with my husband to look around Siquijor,it’s our first trip here by the way. As we arrived in the Port, Bo-bong pick-up us. His very kind, helpful and entertaining. From the port to the Garden Bungalows takes 10 minutes. As we arrived, the owner Rene and Jennifer welcomed us,both of them are very friendly. We had a little chit- chat and there giving us some information about Siquijor. Since my husband is a Swiss man he likes more quiet and like private place to stay. We are very happy we found this place. Garden Bungalow is so beautiful, clean and quiet ( check it out the photos that I uploaded). Every morning we heard the birds and the Breakfast was very good. They have varieties for breakfast so you can really choose. What I love this place is there beautiful Garden, beautiful pool and the employees are very friendly and approachable. Special mention to “Flor" Thank you for your kindness and assistance. And there’s more: They have also a Massage for the guest. Special mention to “Cristy“ she really make a very good massage. They served also food for dinner but make sure you inform them a head of time. In our last evening we decided to eat dinner in Garden Bungalows, it was Super delicious. I recommend the CHICKEN CURRY cooked by the mom of mam Jennifer. You will surely enjoy staying here 🥰

The web site still calls it a bed and breakfast, But that's a bait and switch or false advertising and in my home country I could sue for that,, You have to pay for breakfast at Garden Bungalow. It's more the principle of the thing, Deceitful advertising should be against the law in any country. Upon arrival we were given no notice or flier with the rules and how things worked there. We never saw that until just a few hours before we left and only because I happened to accidentally turn over the one menu sheet the girl carried around. There should be one of those in every room. No excuses, We wasted a lot of time needlessly. There are no smoking signs in the room but outside eating breakfast in the morning the guy next door was smoking and that smoke drifted over to us, We DO NOT want to breath someone else's smoke. They should only smoke at the bar or away from the other guests. The WiFi never did work in the time we were there. Constant brownouts, but even with the generator, which by the way is under powered for that big a of a place, on out last night the power went out countless times causing the A/C to go on and off all night long keeping us awake.. They should have just let the generator run all night and forget about the regular power for the night. The only plus is that it was quiet as promised. I had bad experience with the local trying to cheap me out of change at an attraction, some western museum. It was no accident it was a well planned and executed attempt to defraud the public. Count your change carefully wherever you go on that island.I say 50% of them are dishonest. We shall never return, The town of Siquijor is loaded with unfriendly people. The only good place we found was the Bellview restaurant. Oh and our deluxe room only had 1 chair so only 1 of us could sit and watch TV at night. The web site shows 2 chairs in that style room. More deceit. That's all the more time I am wasting on this place.

Response from Rene F, Owner at Garden Bungalows Resort

Hi Charlie, It is sad for us to hear, you had such a bad experience on your short stay on Siquijor Island and in our resort. There was really a bad coincidence with no internet and long hours of power outages, crazy short interruptions we had not experienced before. For almost 3 years already we have had the breakfast excluded from our room rates. This is because not all guests want to have the full breakfast every day and we also have single travelers who would pay for an additional breakfast. It is very rare, that a guest comes with the expectation of a free breakfast. We have also a breakfast menu with prices in all the rooms. You are right, there is a photo with 2 chairs on the internet, we will replace that one and also remove ‘Bed & Breakfast’, to avoid confusion and misunderstanding in the future. What you write about Siquijor people is offensive and not justified. As a foreigner myself, who has lived in this island for the past 6 years, I appreciate the friendliness and honesty of the Siquijodnons. You write that you liked our quiet place and we heard you appreciated our free services for rebooking your ticket and drop-off to the port. Why don’t you give our island a second chance; you are also welcome to book again at our resort. Rene and Jennifer

My boyfriend and I stayed in Garden Bungalows Resort in May 2019. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough . The owners Rene and Jennifer were extremely kind and helpful and picked us up from the port free of charge. They also provided a detailed map of the island full of recommendations for activities and places to eat. The bungalow we stayed in was spacious and spotless and it had the best WiFi and AC we’ve had in the Philippines so far. The facility’s were great - with a beautiful pool and handy onsite scooter rental. Would highly recommend Garden Bungalows for all types of travellers - couples and families alike due to its very chilled and relaxing atmosphere and value for money. Loved our stay and will definitely be staying there again.

The pick up already was great; Bong, the resort's helper, picked us up from the port and started giving us the best tips for the island. It was such a warm welcome by this great guy. Then we arrived at the resort: what a beautiful place! Everything just looks so perfect. Met the owner and his wife, they are really friendly as well. The room was very neat and the service was unbelievable. We rent a motorbike/scooter at the resort so we could discover the island ourself. If you do this: go to every place that Bong recommends, these places (beaches, restaurants, sightseeings) where so good! Only downside: if you don't ride a motorbike yourself it's quite difficult to get to the resort. But on the other hand, this keeps out the simple and non-adventures tourists out :).

We have just spent the most amazing 4 nights in this idyllic place. It is beautiful and the people who own it and work here are beautiful also....so kind and caring. The bungalows are set in wonderfully tended gardens. The pool is spotless,as are the bungalows. We were given great advice about tours round the island... including the waterfalls...the best day out we have had. There was a power cut one night in the town...it was no problem...(contrary to a previous reviewer who stayed at same time as us).....everyone here is so laid back and chilled out.We have travelled round Philipines and this is our FAVOURITE PLACE BY FAR ...Rene, Jennifer and Bong were so friendly it was like staying with family....We will be back!! Thank you soooooo much for having our family to your home.

If there were more than 5 stars to be given then I would have given you more! Our stay was absolutely amazing and we can not recommend this resort enough! Bong especially made our stay very special to us! He was so kind and thoughtful and gave us so much information for what we can do around the island! He got up at 5am to get our boat tickets to Dumaguete... now I’ve never seen anybody bend over backwards to help their guests as much as he did! This resort was the best that we had stayed in throughout our travels of the Philippines and one that I will continue to recommend. All the staff, not just Bong work ever so hard around the resort! We couldn’t thank you all enough for everything you had done for us! We hope to come back soon and stay with you again!

Came back from Garden Bungalows earlier this week, what a pleasure to stay in such a lovely accommodation. Its the kind of place you almost dont want to write a review on, it's so nice there so why share it, lol. Friendliness from the moment you arrive until you leave. The bungalows are run by Rene and Jennifer, both of whom are just the nicest people you could wish to meet, helpful and courteous. They also have a good team working for them keeping the place super clean and on top of everything. Had the pleasure to meet their Filipino assistant 'Bong', done anything asked of him, in fact no need to ask, he was always one step ahead, even prebooked our departure tickets and then accompanied us to the port on Sunday morning to ensure we had no problems. The garden is well maintained, very colorful and relaxing, plenty of colourful birds to admire whilst lazing in the pool, lol. Thank you guys for a lovely mini break. Eddie & Noime.
