this review is a year late! Any how arrived here and stayed 31st -jan -2nd feb 2020. On arrival we were greeted promptly and shown to our house- which was huge! what can I say, but a great place with everything you could need. A bonus was the tree at the back which had 3 Koalas in it. a short drive to the shops. We were limited to where we could travel due to the awful bush fires the Island had experienced, but we made the best of it. Love to stay here again
It was a last minute decision to visit KI in early August. We just needed to get away...to veg out and stay safe from Covid threats. It worked beautifully. Burubi offers 3 accommodation venues and we were very happy with Apartment A. The facade doesnt do it justice. Inside it is ultra modern with remarkable features and comfort. The view over the Bay from the kitchen area is relaxing and worthy of a photograph or two. Quality linen and bedding ensures a peaceful night. Downstairs is a BBQ and washing facilities. The hosts, who live nearby, were very warm and obliging. For those who don't know KI very well, like us initially, Emu Bay is a great spot to stay. There are no shops at the Bay but that was fine, as Kingscote is just ten minutes the road. Kingscote is the Islands hub. There is a large well stocked Drakes, a Chemist, Hospital, a couple of Hotels and numerous coffee shops. Kingscote has a terrific bakery just off the main street, especially if you like home made pies and pasties with thin crusts and plenty of filling! The Bakery was clean, spacious , plenty of tables socially distanced and had well presented toilets inside. Penneshore is a very pretty town, but doesnt have the same facilities as Kingscote...and the 50km trip between the two is not pleasant. I say this because the long road has constant sad reminders of the need to look out for wildlife. It was very stressful. …
