This three bed, two bathroom house is spacious, very well and thoughtfully equipped and very peaceful. There is a lovely view out over the bay and beach which is only a block away. Unlike some of the stays I have made the kitchen equipment is fully functional with everything provided. It is very clean and easy to keep that way. There is a laundry, nice balcony with outdoor furniture to sit on to admire the view plus thoughtful information provided about things to see on the island. Emu bay is a bit away from the shops etc but it is easy to get to them (15 min to Kingscote). We were very glad we picked this location to stay after touring around the island and seeing the alternatives.

This accommodation delivers what it says. We stayed for three nights and wished it was longer. The apartment is large and fully equipped even with a washing machine and dryer. Art, who met us, provided complete information regarding all aspects of the apartment as well as suggestions regarding Kangaroo Island attractions (local information is always preferable, I find). There was a maintenance issue on our first day but Art promptly corrected it. Additionally I had some washing on the line and was out, when a storm arrived and Marg brought it in before the rain started. These gestures all made our stay that much more welcoming. Sadly the island is not well served for phone coverage apart from the possible exception of Telstra so I suggest you check coverage with your provider. The apartment does not have wireless which although inconvenient, would not prevent us from recommending the accommodation. I truly hope that we can return.

We had a lovely stay at Birubi apartments. Fabulous view of Emu Bay from the lounge and kitchen. Very high spec apartment, I was pleasantly surprised. 3 bedrooms with plenty of room. Very well equipped kitchen with everything you need even dishwashing and laundry supplies. There are no shops at Emu Bay but it's only 10 minutes to Kingscote and 2 minutes to the Lavender farm down the road which opens at 9am for brekkie and serves really good coffee . Lots of resident wildlife including koalas, kangaroos and echidnas.

this review is a year late! Any how arrived here and stayed 31st -jan -2nd feb 2020. On arrival we were greeted promptly and shown to our house- which was huge! what can I say, but a great place with everything you could need. A bonus was the tree at the back which had 3 Koalas in it. a short drive to the shops. We were limited to where we could travel due to the awful bush fires the Island had experienced, but we made the best of it. Love to stay here again

It was a last minute decision to visit KI in early August. We just needed to get away...to veg out and stay safe from Covid threats. It worked beautifully. Burubi offers 3 accommodation venues and we were very happy with Apartment A. The facade doesnt do it justice. Inside it is ultra modern with remarkable features and comfort. The view over the Bay from the kitchen area is relaxing and worthy of a photograph or two. Quality linen and bedding ensures a peaceful night. Downstairs is a BBQ and washing facilities. The hosts, who live nearby, were very warm and obliging. For those who don't know KI very well, like us initially, Emu Bay is a great spot to stay. There are no shops at the Bay but that was fine, as Kingscote is just ten minutes the road. Kingscote is the Islands hub. There is a large well stocked Drakes, a Chemist, Hospital, a couple of Hotels and numerous coffee shops. Kingscote has a terrific bakery just off the main street, especially if you like home made pies and pasties with thin crusts and plenty of filling! The Bakery was clean, spacious , plenty of tables socially distanced and had well presented toilets inside. Penneshore is a very pretty town, but doesnt have the same facilities as Kingscote...and the 50km trip between the two is not pleasant. I say this because the long road has constant sad reminders of the need to look out for wildlife. It was very stressful.
