Doyle’s on the Bay is an amazing place to stay with a large group or family and friends. The accommodations is clean and extremely large, plenty of room to interact as a large group or go off for a little quiet time. Candice and Craig were great and more than happy to assist us in whatever we needed. Rino

After reading some of the other reviews, we were a little apprehensive about certain things. Let me tell you, this place is 100% spectacular! We did not want to leave! The sheer size of the place means you are getting an absolute bargain. We had five older adults and three younger adults and there was never anyone moping around bored. Craig, the caretaker, is truly a Godsend. I've never met anyone so accommodating in my life. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind - with the most sensational views, look no further. Book it now - you will not be disappointed! Facilities include: commercial kitchen, cinema room, home gym, billiard table, inground pool, wrap around deck, indoor fireplace, pizza oven, two barbecues, jacuzzi, full bar, coffee machine, washer/dryer, kitchen and bar dishwashers, 6 bedrooms - all with ensuite. My God, it was so hard to leave!

Truly amazing property. Well and truly above my expectations. My family has found our home away from home. We have stayed at the property 3 times now and already have another visit planned early next year. Can't wait.....

We had an awesome time at Doyle’s on the bay. House is fantastic and the location left us speechless (great views straight from the deck). We really loved everything about our stay. Craig, the caretaker of the property was very friendly and made it very clear that he was very willing to help with anything we needed around the property. We were lucky to have also met Steven, the owner of the property. He was also very welcoming and went out of his way to check in with us and make sure we were happy. Steven was very generous, giving us some freshly-caught whiting and some very nice red wine; top bloke! We also loved being able to adopt Craig’s dog “Power” for the week which helped us miss our own dogs just a little less. Power is a great dog that will fetch a tennis ball for hours, which is pretty easy to do while sipping a beverage and looking over Bay of Shoals. Can’t wait to come back. We had ten people stay here at once and there was plenty of space and things to keep everyone occupied the whole time. The Sauna, spa and pool were all clean and in perfect working order. The home cinema was fantastic with a massive movie collection to choose from. The house has a multi zone sound system to crank party tunes no matter where you are. The bar facilities are enormous with plenty of cold storage space to keep the beverages icy cold. You can tell that a big effort is being made to upgrade and update the facilities . The property is 10 acres with a private beach frontage accessible via a short pleasant walk from the rear of the house. Wallabies and Kangaroos visited daily and the property itself is very close to Kingscote, local wineries, KI distillery and the Island Beehive. There really is nothing not to love. Also worth a shout out to Candice, who made the whole booking process easy and was very prompt with all communication making sure that all of our queries were answered before we left.

Wow! Thank you to the property manager Craig 🙌🏼 You made our stay a breeze! All the way from initial booking, the early text message to my wife to let her know the house was cleaned and ready for our arrival (just in time for our little ones midday nap) to dropping off a local vintage Cab Sav 🍷 to accompany the delicious local KI crayfish🦞 we managed to source from a good friend 😉 And the house, well.. Hands down one of the best places we’ve stayed when it comes to hanging out with friends and family 🥰 The setup is a true entertainer inclusive of an indoor bar which seats up to 20 guests, generous bedrooms all with ensuite including the kids bunk room (this made travelling with friends so comfortable given the amount of drinking we did haha). Pool table, spa, sauna, swimming pool, massive indoor fireplace, massive and pitch black theatre room with double doors so you can get the kids comfy, tune the music up and get back to socialising with friends at the indoor pub 🍻 The dining table seats 20+ in order to get the most out of the insane commercial kitchen (honestly fit for a chef) complete with industrial dishwashers (so easy and convenient takes 2 mins to wash up) ohh and the bar has its own glass wash too. And finally, your own private beach only a short 1min stroll down the hill to top things off. Shouldn’t forget to mention the outside deck was ridiculously generous, our kids loved running laps around it in between their swimming and spa sessions. All this on your own 5 acres of land and only 6 minutes to Kingscote where you can find all your necessities. Honestly loved our 3 day stay, felt like we switched off. Oh and if you need anything during your stay just ask Craig, we felt like he was our concierge. He was so accommodating ☺️ Constructive feedback; 1. Coffee machine. We drove into town to buy coffee but wished we didn’t have to 😞 2. Only 2 tv’s in the house (master & theatre) which was good in a lot of ways but we felt maybe having one near the bar for live sport would be a handy addition 🏈 3. Bedding and Linen could do with an update (don’t get me wrong we were fine but felt like this is something small yet can provide a level of ‘luxe’ for guests) 🛏 4. Wifi & reception (tough one because I personally loved being ‘off the grid’ but one of our friends is a lawyer had to drive 1 min from the house to take calls) 📱 All in all I think we’re going to book every year and make it an annual family/friends getaway. Thank you once again (sorry I didn’t take any photos - Probably because I didn’t use my phone for 3 days which was nice) Kinds Regards, Simon, Amber & Friends

We booked Doyles to celebrate our wedding. We had a small party and wanted a venue where we could party during the night but also where we could rest during the day. Doyles did not disappoint. The house is big, the ground is well kept with access to the beach (this gave us some good picture opportunity). We enjoyed the swimming pool and the Spa. We didn't get time to try the movie room; you do need a long week end to enjoy everything!

Most enjoyable weeks stay in December, with family, great location to explore kangaroo island. Return to a bit of seclusion and luxury after each day around the island. So many options when you stay here.
