Detailed Reviews
If you want a 5 star hotel, go to a 5 star hotel.
This is a decent, beautiful, cozy, welcoming, but simple and affordable place. Kitchenette is good, they give you a box with the essentials. We stayed there for a month, and just have the best transition to our permanent home. Be ready to complete the cleaning! First thing I bought was a bottle of Clorox and Lysol Antibacterial!!! This is not the place for vacation.

My company put me up at this hotel for several months. The staff here and the location are really the only positive things I can say about this Extended Stay. The staff was always very friendly and welcoming. The location is convenient to the highway and many restaurants are nearby.
It's inexpensive for a long term hotel, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I wish my company had paid the extra $10 a night for the hotel I am now at much sooner.
The not so good is that the hotel is quite warn down and in desperate need of fresh paint, carpeting and other updates. As soon as you get beyond the lobby and walk toward the elevator you'll see how dirty the carpeting is. Watch closely as the elevator doors open and you might spot some bugs quickly scurry away.
Enter your room and like mine, you might find the table or something else had been chewed on by a pet that stayed there before. You'll also probably find pet hair on the carpeting and other surfaces. I spent hours the first night I was there cleaning the pet hair from the room, which was better than the first room that I rejected because the hair was overwhelming.
The bed had a dip in the middle and really did a number on my back in the months I was there. The hallways regularly smelled, sometimes from people cooking, other times from trash in the trash room and still other times from people smoking in their room (which is not allowed).
I should note that I moved to this hotel from the Extended Stay off Michigan as an upgrade. This location was indeed better than that, but not by that much.
They've made some minor updates since they rebranded from Homestead to Extended Stay, but it's all superficial so far. Much more work is needed, though. The staff seems to care, so I'm sure they'd love to see the updates too.

After my sister moved to a new, small apt, I had to have a place to stay while visiting her, and this is perfect. I can't believe how inexpensive it is, and I appreciate having a little kitchen set up with a fridge, and a desk to work on. It is very important to me that I have hotel room windows that open. It's right next to the freeway, but the building has a series of courtyards that muffle the traffic sounds. I'm a woman alone, and I feel safe there. It's on a busy commercial road with every kind of restaurant I need, or I can just nuke something from Trader Joe's in the microwave. Yes, it's minimal service and no free shampoo but I never use that stuff anyway, it's always some off brand. I never eat the free "breakfasts" at hotels, either, so I don't miss that especially with a fridge in the room for yogurt, fruit and milk.
They clean the room and change linens weekly which is about what I do at home. If I want clean towels or sheets I can get them from the desk. I've stayed here three times and will do so again. It's clean, safe and quiet, and for that kind of trip, that's all I need or want.

We stayed over the weekend. The price was better than most hotels. After checking in, our room on the 1st floor smelled musty. Front desk worker told us it was just the cleaning products. Room felt damp as well. There were no rooms available to switch. The noise all night was constant. Doors slamming, people running up and down the halls. Bed was hard. There was no breakfast other than packets of oatmeal. I’ve stayed in a LOT nicer places.

We visited for the DMB concert and needed to find a different hotel because of our bad experience checking in at Red Roof inn. As soon as we arrived to Extended Stay we were greeted by one of the nicest managers I’ve come across at hotels. I think her name is Heather. She was welcoming and friendly with a southern accent.
There’s something about people from the south. Call me biased but they’re better at customer service. Anyways, our room was clean, and the bed and towels were clean. Our hotel made our stay even better!

The pool was open when we were there but when we pointed out that there was food or other debris (use your imagination) in the pool to the management, they promised to take care of it on a Saturday evening. By mid Sunday morning nothing had been done. We have not had any experience with the hotel since then. Don't remember on the hot tub.
