If you need a very dark room get on on the north side of the building. The curtains do not seal out the light and the spot lights in the parking lot and the hotel across the street are quite bright. I was fine, others may not be. The microwave is on the low side if you have arthritis. Again, not a problem for me. The pool decor was dated - dark wood and poor lighting. However, it too was clean and appeared to be well managed. Breakfast while not gourmet met the need. It was hot and there was a bit of variety.
All in all no serious complaints.
We reserved in the morning while traveling to Indiana. Requested a ground floor room. Upon arrival we were informed none available. By the next morning the elevator was out of order so we were left to exit the 2nd floor with all luggage and bad knees which was the reason for the first floor request.
Online the price listed for dogs clearly stated $25 for up to two pets. We were charged $60. We asked if we could just cancel and move on but the front desk worker could say if we could get a refund.
The room is in desperate need of cleaning, with dirt gathered in the corners of the bathroom, and lots of bugs in the light fixture.
Full disclosure, after writing 2 complaints and including the home office, the manager has now graciously refunded $23.58 for my inconvenience!!!
We expect better from LaQuintas and had planned for a 10 day stay but after one night we couldn't wait to move on.
Is this the new standard of acceptable under the Wyndham umbrella?
