Front staff greeted every time you walked in or out. Fitness room was very clean & had nice equipment and a variety of apparatus. Damon, wait staff at breakfast, was engaging, helpful & fun to talk to. Room on 5th floor was really quiet. Would definitely come again

This hotel is located in an industrial area off I-465. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the carpet in the restaurant. It was old dingy, dirty and stained with years of grime. A part of me wanted to cancel but due to the volleyball tournament in downtown Indianapolis there were no other rooms available. We had arrived early and there is no early check in. When I finally was able to check in we parked in the back of the hotel. My suggestion for security reasons is to take out the tall evergreens and trim up the landscaping and the back part needs more lighting. We walked through a cloud of weed smoke from one of the employees who was standing out there on break.
The room was ok. It smelled cleaned and lots of space. The carpet was clean but really in need of replacing. We had a king size bed that looked more like a queen. There was a little kitchenette with a microwave, Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge (that didn’t get cold enough). The bathroom looked updated, the walk-in shower had soap scum or calcium build up around the base, there wasn’t much water pressure. There was a crack in the floor tile. Lots of fresh towels and a few toiletries. The bed had four pillows and were comfortable. The wood furniture was older and worn with scratches. The AC/Heat fan made a lot of noise, like a popcorn machine. I was disappointed that there was no circulating fan on the heating and cooling unit. This hotel charges for breakfast and it’s not at all fulfilling. A continental breakfast would have been nice. We stayed a total of 3 nights and it was just ok, nothing spectacular.

We stayed here for 4 days in May. I have always wanted to stay here, but could never get a reservation so stayed at other local hotels. This year an opportunity came up and I managed to get a booking during this very busy period. When we arrived we had to step over broken floor tiles in the foyer and humps in the entry foyer carpet due to stretching. However, this aside the greeting by the fantastic staff made us very welcome. Our room was on a high floor looking out the rear side of the hotel, and was very comfortable indeed. We had breakfast downstairs each day and the food and service was terrific. During the stay overnight on the first evening the entire foyer was transformed into race goers paradise and the entire staff were well and truely into the Indy500 spirit. This hotel is handy to a couple of restaurants - which were in walking distance but there are many more within a short drive. In my humble opinion Yes with some minor service work this Hotel could be visibly improved - but for the price we were paying during a very busy period, we were more than happy to overlook these minor issues. There is criticism on some reviews about the $5.00 per night parking charge - we stayed for 4 nights and were not charged at all, and neither were a couple of other travellers we spoke to. They have a very good evening bar service and a nice outdoor area attached to the hotel if you want to socialise outside. Would I stay here again? Most definitely. Credit to the staff.

The first minor red flag started when I reserved a King Plus suite (pull out couch) and received an email the same day of my scheduled check in telling they were moving me to a double queen at no less of a cost to us. Despite having 3 individuals needing their own place to sleep. We were able to work around this hiccup. Then we arrived around 5 PM to find cereal and food covering the lounge area indicating that space had not been cleaner since the breakfast. It was during our check in that we discovered the bar and restaurant were both closed due to "covid". If you want to swim in their pool you have to reserve the space. The water and bottom of the pool and hot tub were both maintained an algae green shade. Everywhere you walked the carpet was not stretched which made rolling your bags to & from your room a hassle because you had to pick up your bags to get over the humps. The room were filthy; dust built up on the mirrors, light switches, walls, lamps. This clearly stated the sticker on the door indicating "this room was sanitized" was a complete lie. The air conditioner in the room worked beautifully and in walking distance of places to eat are the only two compliments I have for this hotel. The next morning, I walked downstairs to grab a cup of coffee and to grab our breakfast box only to be told that it was not part of our room cost and it would be an additional $5.00. Here this place is charging full price cost me over $200.00 for a room and they have no restaurant nor bar as listed under their amenities then they charge their customers $5.00 for a breakfast box. I choose to go without but I would bet money that inside those breakfast box are the same type of round sugary cereal I saw lying around the floor lobby when we arrived. I will NEVER stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Northwest and will definitely question staying at another Hilton if this the type of management they authorize to run their hotels.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent stay. It is apparent that we did not live up to our promise of clean and friendly and for that I am sorry. We are in the process of addressing all of your concerns. The team is aware of how important cleanliness is and we have provided additional training on dusting and vacuuming. We are also working with ownership and Hilton to accomplish more of the bigger items such as carpet. I assure you that our team is dedicated and wants to provide the best experience possible. I hope you continue to trust the Hilton brand for your future travels and even revisit us so that we can show what improvements have been made.

This location is operating well below the brand standard you would expect from HGI. Lots of little things are going unattended to: Light bulbs out all over the property, dirty bathrooms with mildew, threadbare bed linens, and overall lots of deferred maintenance. I would not stay here again.
This property needs renovating, and better management.

Thank you for staying with us and reviewing your experience. You are correct that the property would benefit from a renovation. However, we are committed to improving and maintaining many aspects of the property. It is disheartening that your time with us left you with the impression that management does not care as that could not be further from the truth. We assure you as well as all future guests that we are working hard within today's environment to provide the most clean and comfortable hotel experience. We invite you to stay with us again so that you will see that. Happy Holidays.

We checked in on June 10, 2021 into a king room! There policy stated on booking the room that we willed her charged once we are checked out, well they charges the whole amount during checkout! We understand this is how some hotels operate, but just make it clear in the beginning. We noticed after pulling back the sheets in our room, that there was a huge urine stain and we had stained comforter. We are still in a pandemic and things should checked and cleaned thoroughly! We will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend to anyone else!! Absolutely disappointed!!!

Thank you for staying with us. We absolutely agree that cleanliness is important. It is the expectation/standard that all bedding is changed between guests and I apologize that your sheets were stained. I will review your experience with the team so that our laundry and housekeeping staff remain focused on identifying stained linen. We hope you visit us again in the future.

My boyfriend and I booked the room with the whirlpool tub. When we checked in early (as we had requested) we were given keys to the wrong room. It was fixed but then after being in the room for 30 minutes, an employee attempted to enter the room without knocking. We had the door locked. I went to the door and she told us we were supposed to be checked out. I informed her we had just checked in and that we were not the people that were there the previous night. She replied that she was sorry and no one had informed her and left.

Staff went above and beyond with personalized services. Great breakfast omelettes and other daily specials with always attentive, smiling servers. Spacious lounge areas, quiet rooms.
Hilton honors membership encouraged. They have a special “spin the wheel” option at check in which allow a chance to win extra points or meals and drinks. Fun place to stay.

This is about an average hotel as one can be. I’ve stayed at many HGI properties and this one was very lacking. It all started when the front doors opened and the was a very strong odor in the vestibule. Once you get in the lobby, you can tell the hotel is in need of a renovation. The staff was nice but not accommodating during my check in process. I was traveling on business and my admin always books my hotels through a non-Hilton website (Expedia). Upon checking in I was informed that the room was only on hold and I had to pay for the room. I informed the person checking me in that I have never had to do this before and my admin took care of the room and my credit card would only be for additional charges, but I was informed that this would not be the case and that my card would be charged for the stay. Then I was informed that I would be charged an additional $5.00 per day for parking. Not really sure why they are charging $5.00 per day for me to park my own car in there parking lot. The very next day as I was returning to the hotel, I noticed the 1st floor tile as you walk into the hotel was extremely loose when I stepped on it. I went to the front desk to let them know and I was informed “yeah , we know, it’s been like that for a couple of weeks”. The next day after that, as I was leaving for the meeting, there was a very strong sewage smell throughout the 1st floor from the elevator to the front door. I will have to think twice before booking at this property again.

The rooms were unclean, the paint was pulling off of the ceiling. The rooms air conditioner was old and extremely noisy couldn’t have it on at night or you can’t sleep. The room also had a foul odor and you could tell it obviously had not been cleaned.
