The hotel was amazing to stay! The hotel gave me a first floor room which was something I’ve hoped for while driving the 5 hours there so I wouldn’t have to walk up (they had a elevator anyway), first thing I noticed when I walked into my room was how big and comfortable my king sized white sheet-4 pillow bed was; It had me fall asleep in a matter of 5 mins, the left of the hotel door had a bathroom with a very clean marble-topped sink with their very own tiny and small Soap bars to wash hands with. The bathroom had a separate room for only the bath with a shower head and enough space to bathe in; Hotel also came with a snack bar by the lobby desk where every item was under $5 dollars and a pool by the walk-in was only deep enough for 6 feet and small enough for a family to enjoy themselves in. It is obvious this hotel is not new, BUT, for the most part it is maintained satisfactorily and is quite comfortable. Everything is clean and presentable. And the biggest selling point for this location, by far, is the staff! Every single employee here made each guest feel special. As a guest I never knew if I was dealing with a top manager or the lowest new employee - every one of them made me feel as though I was the only guest and my needs were most important to be handled promptly. Our room was immediately next to the elevator and we NEVER heard a single sound from it, which initially was a concern. Nor did we hear any sound from any other room either. VERY good insulation! The Wingate Gurnee is also easy to find by GPS (don't be confused by the Comfort Inn sign out front because they share one drive). One singular complaint: our bathroom door didn't close properly - not a big deal for us. What else can I say? We had one of the most comfortable beds and pillows ever, and I slept hours later than I normally do at home. Thank you Wingate Gurnee! Really!

Hotel location, just minutes from Six Flags Great America, was perfect to spend Sunday night there and get up early for a hot breakfast (eggs and sausage), before heading back to the park again on Monday! Desk attendant provided us with all hotel details; there was a mini- office section to use the PC and printer; indoor pool; comfy lobby; even comfier beds and pillows. All good!

The filters in the AC/heating unit were very dirty with clumps of accumulated dirt. They obviously hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. Fortunately, we didn't need to turn it on. I alerted front desk at checkout and was told they would take care of it. We were in Room 218. Breakfast choices are so-so. Would like to have a healthy plain Greek style yogurt instead of two sugar-laden fruit yogurts. Would like to have blueberry muffins in lieu of sugar filled pastry. Best Western offers a much better, healthier selection in the same price range.

Mistakenly booked for the wrong weekend and when I talked about any options to remedy this they said the only way they would refund me was if I booked there emergency room which was not only a downgrade of the room but also an additional $50. They explained this was the only way I'd get a "refund". They weren't amenable or considerate at all.

I could not be happier with my stay at the WIngate. The staff was exceptionally responsive, friendly and always smiling. My room was cleaned daily and the pool was open with 45 minute blocks so you always has the pool to yourself. I was traveling for a horse show and one of the staff even set aside apples for my horse! Just a wonderful stay.

This hotel is near Six Flags Great America, Illinois State Beach, and literally on the Gurnee Mills mall circle. Our room was clean, and staff were friendly. The room had a dehumidifier to prevent it from getting musty, as rooms near the lake often are. It is a solid choice for a low to mid range price.

Worst hotel breakfast ever. Very limited options, waffles were eggs waffles wrapped in plastic wrap, muffins were tiny and only chocolate chip, banana were over ripe, scrambled eggs looked ok if you are a scrambled egg person, hash browns and sausage only. Ended up not eating at all. We ended up staying in room 107, 1st hotel I have ever stayed in that had a dehumidifier in the room, it was so loud we had to turn it off. Wondering why there was a moisture problem in the room that required a dehumidifier, Other than that the room was clean, the bed comfy.

I travel over 100 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so I review each one. The parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. Check in went smoothly, my request for a ground floor room or a ground floor room was no problem. My room, a handicap queen, was very clean, with a comfortable bed/ pillows and newer fixtures. Room access is via an interior door. The hallways and room smelled great. WiFi speed was 11.9 megs down, 7.22 up via Ookla. All of the normal amenities were in place, such as the microwave, small refrigerator and single serve coffee maker. The hotel has multiple luggage carts. My digital AC/heater worked well. The television had only a basic selection of channels but a good picture. The breakfast area and lobby were very clean. There is a WynMart on the first floor. There is also a business center available. I would certainly stay here if in the area in the future.

So I usually stay at IHG, Hyatt, Marriott or Hilton. I needed to be close to the Gurnee Mills, so my usually choices were a little far away. This is a gem of a hotel, it has gone through a more than one million dollar renovation which completed in 2020. The staff is just absolutely nice and helpful, I got great food recommendations and help from them. You have all sorts of fast food and dining options nearby. The rooms are well appointed, my room was big and spacious, had all the items I needed iron, iron stand, desk for work and a chair to lounge on. However I think the best feature of this hotel was the amazing water pressure, too many hotel have switched to those god aweful low flow shower heads which drip water and ruin an other wise great pleasure of life. I just loved how good the water pressure was.
I loved the desk and the work area, had coffee in the room.
This is by far the best hotel in gurnee!
