The parking garage is really a steep access/ exit. Tough to handle with a full size suv. That's the only negative.
Greeted warmly. Had a great view of the Chicago skyline. Room was large and very comfortable. The bed was amazing. Large pillows and soft blankets and sheets

The good and the bad. The full breakfast buffet here is top notch, and only $10! You're given a cloth napkin and the plates and utensils are all real, not paper or plastic. A nice comfortable room with 3 clocks displaying 3 times zones, but they're all wrong :-) The food, however, was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful.

My room was OK, but the housekeeping below par. The first day the housekeeper forgot to clean the toilet. On day 2, despite greeting me with a friendly "Good Morning" as I left my room, the housekeeper forgot to service it altogether. And a little chlorine bleach would have removed the large mildew accumulation in the corner of the bathtub (see photo). While the carpet was vacuumed in the center, there was clearly a 1-2 inch wide strip of dust visible around the edges. Attention to detail? Obviously not.

And I thought full-service Holiday Inns included a bar and restaurant. Whoever placed the signs on the breakfast tables, showing someone having dinner and a cocktail, obviously thought so too (see photo). But there is no food or beverage service here except for breakfast.

Given the unprofessional housekeeping and lack of restaurant and bar, I'll probably look elsewhere next time.

We stayed here for 6 nights while visiting family. The hotel was clean and organized and the staff helpful each time we asked for assistance. The hotel no longer offers routine room cleaning, but offered it on request and staffers were happy to replenish tissues or cups on request. The location is very convenient to Downtown Evanston, grocery stores, trains and Northwestern University. We stayed on the top floor and still could hear the trains, but not super loud, if you are sensitive to noise this might be an issue for you. Breakfast is not included and we didn't try it (instead we had food in our room or went to the excellent Bagel Art Cafe). There are also free breakfast pastries in the lobby and I think coffee. Overall for the price and location, I recommend this location.

For $324.57 per night you might be expected a luxury hotel - but you would be wrong, very very wrong.

For $324.57 you’ll get a room with chips off the veneer on the bed, the maid will forget to service your room, the pool will be an ugly infilled hole, the carpets will be tired, the soap and shampoo will be worse than you use at home.

Yes, you’ll get proximity to Evanston on a busy week.

But, if you’re a seasoned traveler - don’t expect any sort of luxury that is usually attached to a hotel of that price.

We were looking for a hotel to stay in after a Cubs game and decided that Evanston would be a good location. We got a great rate at the Holiday Inn, so we booked it for one night. When we checked in, they could not find our reservation. They worked diligently and we finally were assigned a room on the 12th floor. The elevator carpet was filthy. Our room overlooked the outdoor pool, which we thought was a nice feature when we booked our room. However, looking down on this pool, the bottom was brown with dirt as if it had not been cleaned all summer. The door into our room did not fit properly and had a gap at the top which was possibly the reason we could hear every noise that occurred in the hallway. We could also hear voices from other rooms and noise from the street.
I think their description of this hotel being recently updated is misleading and would recommend you consider other Evanston options.
On the positive side, the front desk employees were very nice!

This is the 3rd time I have booked a room for my friends visiting town. Tigis seems to be there all the time and she is a great help and so nice. Compared to the other location in Skokie, this Evanston Holiday INN'S rooms seem more newly renovated, after Best Western used to be there. The rooms and bathrooms are really nice!

Dated hotel. Staff were very nice. Food was mediocre, and not a single USB outlet in the entire room. I was unable to charge my phone or tablet. There are USB's at the airport, on the plane to Chicago, in the rental car, but not in the hotel room. When I'm paying over $400/night for a room this is absurd. And the breakfast....the scrambled eggs were almost certainly made from powdered eggs. The worst I ever had. I could not eat them.

I stayed for over a week and half at the Holiday Inn Chicago North- Evanston. For the price point the rooms in general are average clean but must notify guest service daily, 24 hrs in advance if you want your room serviced due to COVID. Most people left things outside their rooms which I assumed was picked up the house keeping. My highlight was the from the front desk service specifically Tigist -she went above and beyond to accommodate my specific needs. For instance, the floor I was in and the folks next to me were loud, so she switched my room to another floor and put me in the corner room as I needed some quite to work during the day. In addition to that, I had some very important items that I was expecting to be delivered and I was out with clients and she made sure to give me a call to notify me that the items had been delivered. This was extremely helpful as I was able to complete my task and return to the hotel at a later time. Overall I would come back and stay here only because of the friendly customer service.

This hotel is in a good location in Evanston and would be nice if it were accessible. There are two sets of stairs to get inside, and the lift was out of order. There was merely a sign that stated “Out of order. We apologize for the inconvenience.” My friend is a wheelchair-user and could only gain access to the hotel by going up and down an incredibly steep ramp in the parking garage meant for cars — not people. We informed the front desk and asked for another entrance and exit and were told the unsafe parking garage ramp for cars is the only way in and out that avoids stairs besides the lift. They told us the lift has been out of order for “a few days” and they only called an engineer once we told them about it. This is unacceptable — completely inaccessible hotel and fixing the lift clearly was not their priority. Also, one of the hotel staff was not helpful when we asked for assistance with our bags (we are both disabled and cannot carry them). She simply brushed us off and told us to ask security (there was no security person to help). This hotel really needs to improve their accessibility and disability practices as they are excluding a large percentage of the population and as a result, losing customers.

My check-in experience was wonderful—a kind employee explained the area and parking, sanitized check-in area (even sanitized pens!) with socially distancing being practiced. The room was clean and comfortable. I was nervous to go to a hotel during a pandemic, but this hotel's cleanliness and protocol put me at ease. Thank you!
