Detailed Reviews
I’m already mourning the loss of what checking out this afternoon will mean to me upon leaving The beautiful Claridge House Hotel. It’s been a truly wonderful experience with all the magical moments I’ve had visiting the city of Chicago❣️ Staying at this fine establishment has been better than home with a spacious upgraded bedroom with a view! Wow! It’s worth paying more to experience an overall perfect experience. The beds are extremely soft, along with the down-filled feather pillows. My room was spotless every day it was cleaned during my stay. I enjoyed the shower, all of the features I don’t take for granted were there for my ease of use & enjoyment. The television screen was very clean, and the floors & bathroom were impeccably wiped clean with no strange residue or smears. Especially the television remote 😉 The beds are all white and with all the natural light that came into room 1101, I was pleased to have the energy to get out on the town during the day & come back to watching Christmas movies on cable television👍
The Claridge House is close to walkable restaurants, especially if you like to walk & go out & experience Christkindlmarket at this time of year in December❣️ Michigan Avenue is decorated so festive & all the lights on the trees & storefronts light up with that kind of memorable Christmas magic I will never forget. Museums accessible with Uber & Taxis are all over the place. Don’t forget to eat at MCCB in Chinatown! Delicious 🤤
The staff work cohesively together & seem to be happy working at The Claridge House which is refreshing❣️
A quick shout out to Colin who introduced himself on the elevator & asked how my stay was going. Great to hear a company throws a holiday shindig for their employees 👌
Last but not least, a prompt text was sent to me after getting settled into my room elevated my customer service level. I’m very impressed that following up with you is implemented in this establishment. The Claridge House cares to make sure your entire stay is perfect.
I hope to see you again. Next December 😉

The Claridge is a nice hotel and convenient to many nice eateries and the Red line. We had a king suite as there were 3 of us staying 4 nights. It was spacious and clean and had a small kitchenette with two bathrooms. The towels are lovely and soft, pillows are comfy and bed great. We had booked for 3 people and felt that the bedding should have been set up for 3 and we shouldn't have had to call down for extra pillows and blankets, a glass and coffee cup and water for the third guest- as that should all be noted in the booking details. When we did call it took some time to come, but it did come with a smile. If you have one of these rooms, pack your ear plugs in case you have people in the adjoining room coming home at 2 pm who decide to knock on the door between and call 'housekeeping' repeatedly in the middle of the night and put the TV on loudly, as you will hear them!
The hotel offers a happy hour between 5-6 pm with a white and red wine and some popcorn. It would be nice to have the wine in a glass as opposed to a plastic cup.
There is a young man at the front desk who we encountered and he is exceptionally pleasant. One or two of the female staff are less cheerful and one of the females at the cafe as you enter was horrendous. After a Saturday morning experience there with cardboard containers and paper cups we decided to head next door for our breakfasts. There was also an odd smell when you come in the main door some days
We are fussy and expect a good standard. Apart from the noisy neighbours and minor hiccups, we enjoyed our time at the Clarence. It's quite a classy place.

We held our annual team offsite with about 40 members at Claridge House in September. As a remote organization, the chances for in-person collaboration are few so the times we meet are very important. For many of our team members, it was their first time in Chicago. The location was so convenient for public transit and easy to get to. The venue itself was excellent with beautiful amenities, rooms, and a view of the city and even the lake in some rooms.
We worked with their event team and I can't recommend them enough — thank you to Lea, Jasmin, and all the folks at Claridge House who went above and beyond to attend to our business event. The meeting room was turned over spotlessly, they were attentive to our every need, they included small and special touches to make us feel at home as guests, and working with them was not only easy but also enjoyable. It made our offsite event that much richer. I had multiple folks come up to me and say that this was the best offsite venue we've had as a team. Will definitely be recommending this venue to other teams in our organization!

I give poor rate only because of hidden cost. I stayed 4 nights and book by booking.com. When i arrived they told me i need to pay extra 30 $ per night (Urban fee). My arrangement cost around 700$ plus additionally 120$ unplanned spending. for 30$ they offer cleaning a room ( which I consider for 4* hotel is a standard) Wi-Fi, 2 bottle of water per day and 15% discount in lobby bar. OK firstly I was upset how come this cost was not showed on booking, secondly I use lobby bar for morning coffee as soon I present my room key they told me they don’t offer any discount because this is private Bar. When i asked reception why they offer 15% discount when it’s not applicable they apologies and said it was couple years ago now this bar not belong to them. Only what is positive for this hotel is location and lobby interior.

We had such a great customer service experience here and would definitely stay again! Everyone at the front desk was super helpful. We had a mixup with our third party reservation when we arrived, but they quickly fixed things for us and even got us into an upgraded room for no extra cost. Then our lodging plans with friends for the rest of our trip fell through, and Cinthya was able to accommodate us for 3 more nights in the same upgrade room at a significantly reduced rate. They were also available for recommendations and provided anything we needed.
The location is perfect, super walkable and nearby everything you’d want, with the benefit of being more in an actually neighborhood than such a touristy district. Everything inside was clean and comfortable. This will be our go-to hotel for all our Chicago trips from here on!

Claridge House was the perfect place to stay for a girls birthday weekend! From the moment we walked into the stylish, modern lobby with bar, we felt welcome and relaxed. We knew we were in for a great stay when Felix went above and beyond after check-in and delivered a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room to help us get the celebrations started. We sipped bubbles while getting settled in and then enjoyed the complimentary wine happy hour in the lobby, taking our drinks outside to the lovely seating area in front. It was a great way to unwind and start the trip.
Overall, our room was cozy, clean, and flooded with natural light. Throw blankets and feather pillows on the beds gave it a boutique feel. The neighborhood location is a quaint, relaxed contrast to other busy parts of the city yet still close to great restaurants, entertainment, and the lake.
After check-out we were able to store our bags and enjoy extra time in the city. When we came to get them, we were given complimentary bottled waters for the trip home. All the staff we encountered at the hotel was so friendly and accommodating! We look forward to staying here again.

The Claridge House Chicago is a gem. We worked with the Sales Department to organize a block of rooms for a Bridal Shower. They were always available to answer questions, work with us and our guests and we could not have had a better experience. All our guests felt well taken care of. The Front desk was super helpful suggesting places for dinner and calling cabs for the grandmothers. The rooms were clean, the beds, bedding, and pillows comfortable, the temperature of the rooms controllable with a continuous fan option to provide some nice white noise. There were several common rooms to gather in the Lobby and an alcove in the stairwell to the 2nd floor. The bar in the lobby has a Happy hour from 5-6pm and they had food and coffee - including espresso drinks, from 7AM to 1Pm that was wonderful. Also, there are many great restaurants in walking distance and the neighborhood is quiet and very safe to walk in. Because it is close to Division St, Jewel Osco/CVS are also close by. We will definitely return on our next Chicago trip. Know that one must arrange housekeeping in advance, however, fresh towels were always available at the front desk.

I have done quite a bit of traveling, US and abroad, and I've never felt so warmly welcomed in any other place. Ruby greeted me warmly and was super helpful despite it being after midnight! We had an impromptu cupcake snack in the beautiful lobby area (it needs a better name, much more than a 'lobby') and the staff provided the requested napkins and added plates and plastic cutlery to our request on their own. The hotel itself was fantastic....great location, clean, comfortable, plenty of room amenities (a steamer!) etc but that is relatively easy to find. It was the caring, friendly, personable staff that is much harder to come by in my opinion. I will definitely look to stay here if I'm back in Chicago.

Have stayed at Claridge House on work trips twice now and have nothing but great things to say!!! Ruby is amazing and completely saved me. Highly recommend staying here!
For context, on my second trip to Chicago this summer I had originally booked another hotel through my company. When I arrived at 12:30am they told me the hotel was overbooked and my room (which I had paid for a month in advance) was not available. I called Claridge House and luckily they had room for me. Ruby (who was working the front desk) told me she would not let me leave the hotel (at this time it was 1am and I was alone) and she made sure I had a room and was comfortable. I have nothing but great things to say about Claridge House. The staff, rooms, and location are all 10/10. Highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Chicago!!

The service at this hotel is unlike any I’ve ever felt. When I first arrived I was warmly greeted by Trevor who gave me all the info I needed to know to feel at home on property. When I arrived to the room I was sent a text by Mz.Cookie who checked on me and was a real person. Later I met the Director of Operations, Nick who was handing out FREE wine and great conversation. Even lance the bar tender was amazing and so kind! Upon check out I fell I’ll and ran into the housekeeper, Sharnetta, who noticed. She greeted me at my room with a medicine ball tea from Starbucks and I cried actual tears. I’m used to staying at bigger hotels but Claridge House will undoubtably be my only place to stay in Chicago because of these people! 10/10 unparalleled service! You will love it there.

Hello,
Claridge House is a non-smoking hotel.
Thank you for inquiring!
Colin
I booked it online and pre-paid. The rate that I was quoted is exactly what I paid. I know Chicago has some hefty taxes on hotels, so this might have been included.
Highly recommend booking online.
