Detailed Reviews
I stayed here with my spouse and friends while in Chicago to see The Sheepdogs at The Metro. While some parts of the rooms could use an upgrade, it did not detract from our stay in any way. No breakfast, but we knew that ahead of time and planned accordingly - they did have coffee in their lobby which was very nice. The lobby is also filled with lots of baseball artwork and books; I am not really into baseball, but it was interesting decorations and the lobby itself was comfortable and spacious. The front desk attendants, Emilia and Roxanna, were very helpful with questions we had and were very welcoming, allowing us to leave our luggage in a secure spot while we went out for breakfast.
The location was perfect for our needs - just a short walk to many restaurants, shopping spaces, and The Metro (by Wriggly Field). It is very close to Lake Shore Drive, but not close enough to hear traffic from it - just a nice little neighborhood. We came back late after the concert and you could only enter the building with your room key card at that time of night, which made it feel very safe to stay there. The parking garage nearby stored our car for $25 (or $47 for vehicles taller than 6ft) for 24 hours with in/out privileges - check into the hotel before parking your car there, as the hotel has more information about the parking garage.
Overall, would 100% recommend the Majestic Hotel, and we look forward to staying again when we visit Chicago.

Hotel's Favorite
This hotel is phenomenal. The location is absolutely perfect for Wrigley Field and Lake Shore Drive. We were a quick 5 minute or less walk to the lake front! Wrigley was an easy, fun walk. We used Uber, and were at Navy Pier within 10 minutes! The parking is so easy, and the parking staff is also extremely friendly! The staff is so welcoming and friendly, and really makes you feel like family. They gave us the best local (to the hotel) food recommendations! The room was extremely roomy and SO CLEAN! As soon as you walk in the front door of this hotel, you can just smell the cleanliness of this place. There is a nice, large lobby to use. The baseball themed EVERYTHING was so neat! You won’t go wrong staying here!

We were in Chicago for a Cubs baseball game. The hotel is located on a side street in a mostly residential area just off Lakeshore Drive, and has a baseball-themed decor throughout. It was quiet and very safe to walk everywhere including Wrigley Field, only a 15-minute walk away. Our room included a small dorm-size fridge, which was stocked completely full of small beverages, so bring a cooler to keep your things cold if you don't want to purchase. Might be worth a $15 upgrade for the Double Queen Suite with its separate sitting area and a kitchenette with microwave, sink and fridge (still packed full, though). Beds were very comfortable and shower had good pressure and hot water. 15 minute parking in front for unloading. The parking garage is actually behind the hotel off of Addison St., which can be a little confusing. Have your parking card stamped at the front desk to receive a reduced $25 parking fee, which expires in promptly 24 hrs. from entering the garage.
There are lots of places to eat nearby, most within walking distance. We would recommend ROCKS Lakeview for salads, sandwiches/wraps, wings, etc., and be sure to try their tater tots! Visit Ann Sathers for breakfast, just a few doors beyond ROCKS. The story behind this little cafe is as interesting as its menu! We think you will enjoy your stay at The Majestic!

My bestie and I were lucky enough to win Lady Gaga tickets at Wrigley Field on August 15th which was a Monday night. She won them a few weeks in advance of the concert so we booked our train up and got online to find hotels. Of course almost everything was sold out, but I was able to find rooms at the Majestic Hotel listed on Google for $144 a night. I went to book at a couple of different places and then the price would jump hundreds of dollars. I called the hotel directly to book a room and was told my room would be $539 plus tax. The only other room located even remotely close to Wrigleyville was at the hostel. I heard a few good reviews of The Majestic online and I loved the location of it so I went ahead and booked it. The hotel is a beautiful old building. The front desk folks were plenty nice and the Lounge was cute. Upon arriving to our room it was very small, barely enough room for the queen size bed. I don't need a lot of space so that wasn't that big of a deal. Bathroom floor was dirty and the wallpaper was peeling leaving crumbs all over the ground. There was no microwave or coffee maker and online it said that there would be a mini bar and snacks that you could buy in your room but those were also gone. Upon asking the front desk they said they were down stairs for purchase if we wanted them. The there are refillable bottles of shampoo and lotion and soap in the bathroom and you can tell the lotion just gets refilled from the top and different types have been in there some was solidified in the bottle. I loved the location because it was a 15-minute walk or so to Wrigleyville and Boys Town and was very safe. The bed was the best thing about the room because it was comfortable. Upon arriving home I saw that I had been charged 633 along with a $100 charge. I called them to question the $100 charge and they said that that would be refunded within the next few days and that the extra money on top of the initial $539 charge was for taxes and fees. There was no breakfast offered. I am just so disappointed in myself for paying so much just to sleep for a couple of hours. I think the immense jumping price is ridiculous but I do understand that I didn't have any other choice. If it ever happens again I would just stay in a cheaper motel for their South and pay the cab driver and save a ton of money and receive much more. There are plenty of cabs, ubers, bikes, scooters. Lesson learned. I would be happy to stay here for the $144 a night that was originally listed but what was advertised on web page in the experience and amenities was not what I experienced or received. Good friendly staff. Good bed. Good location .

We were very pleasantly surprised by our experience at this hotel. The woman at the front desk, Emilia, could not have been nicer! Because they weren't full on Thanksgiving night, she asked if we'd like an upgrade to a larger room. This doesn't happen in the big chains. The room she gave us was a beautiful suite, with a lovely sitting room looking out onto Brompton Ave. The room had a little kitchenette, and a fully stocked bar with snacks, (for sale of course, but they were very reasonably priced). The bed was like heaven. The room had two nice size tvs. The front lobby was very inviting, with a fireplace and a coffee station. The place is in the process of updating all the rooms, and we were lucky to get a newly updated one . And while there is construction and painting going on, it did not affect us in the least. Emilia couldn't have been more accommodating or pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel. It was an entirely different experience than you have in a newer chain hotel.

We had the best stay at the Majestic. Emilia at the front desk is the dream front desk employee - so pleasant, knowledgable of the area, full of enthusiasm and just loves to ensure you have everything you need. Great location, as a female felt 100% safe walking around the Area at night. Room is clean, hotel is cute. Don’t need anything else……stay here people, and ask for Emilia!

1 star - The parking was ridiculous. The employee asked us about the size of our vehicle, we told them 4-Runner. We went to the lot we were instructed to go to. The employee turned us away and told us to go to a different lot. We went there and were turned away again. After going back to the hotel we were instructed to use the alternative parking lot at the Best Western 4 blocks away. The employees there were fantastic, however it didn’t make up for the $14 price increase. Once we got back and into the room (the employee at the front desk helped us with our bags after seeing is struggle) we were greeted with a musky smell and permanently open window in the shower with no screen. Mosquitos/ants were an issue due to this. There was a stain on the couch that looked like it had left after a bit of fun from the previous occupants. Upon checking out we asked the person at the front desk about the parking. She immediately cut us off and told us it is not the hotel’s problem that we used a third party vender and I didn’t read the fine print about not accommodating trucks. The room we reserved was a king, we got a queen. It said there was a bottle of wine with the stay, how ever the bottles in the room had a price tag and there were no instructions. One of the worst experiences we have had at a hotel.

Comfortable clean rooms; appealing and unique aesthetic. Outstanding service from Daniel and Delonte at the desk. Cheap/fun mini bar! Highly recommend. We had a very comfortable and large room - easy access to nearby parking at a reasonable rate given the location.

My husband and I have been staying at the Majestic for years when we are in the city. This boutique hotel in a gorgeous, historic building is on a quiet street within walking distance to so many shops, restaurants and all things Lakeshore & Wrigleyville. The rooms are always spotless and the staff is always extremely attentive, especially Daniel who has taken great care of us every year. He is a true professional. See you soon, Majestic!

The hotel is old, musty and should not be called a “hotel”. The carpeting in the hallway and stairs were dirty, furniture in the rooms are ripped and old. I would never stay here again nor recommend anyone to stay here
There is zero security. Anyone can walk in at any hour without the one staff member asking for ID or hotel key. They have a nerve charging what they did for a stay over the holidays. Absolutely terrible hotel! A Motel 6 is a better option.

Noworreez,
Depends on the date. Usually during the summer we won't, but please contact us directly with a date that you have in mind and we'll be happy to help you.
They are affiliated with a parking garage that is adjacent to the property - NOT a valet. It was $25 a night, which I felt very reasonable, and my experience with it was very positive.
Google Maps I dictated there is a 10 minute drive or about a 35 minute walk to the theatre from the Majestic Hotel.
For sushi, I highly recommend Diva Thai & Sushi Bar on N Halstead. Three of us had sushi, the fourth had a delicious green curry that took my tastebuds back to Bangkok. The food was delicious, the service was great. Our server was available when needed, but did not hover.
Unfortunately I can’t provide a Cuban recommendation personally at this time.
The time a taxi takes from the airport depends largely on the hour of the day. At 3:00 AM you could probably make it in about 30 minutes or so. At 3:00 PM it could take a very long time. When I had an early morning flight out of Chicago, I actually went and stayed the night at an airport hotel to be sure I would make it. A good strategy. I can't remember the taxi fare--sorry!
