nice and clean property in a good location. I would return to this property. Walking distance to several attractions and short drive to most major spot. The only downside is they had several large and loud work groups that gather at the entrance and lobby at the hotel and just block the entire entrance. The elevators were constantly busy and took a while to get up and down.

Our family was headed to Iceland for a family vacation and had connector through Chicago. We had never been there as a family, so we decided to do a 24 hour layover there and stayed at the Royal Sonesta Downtown. Hotel is very centrally located to river walk area and a lot of the better restaurants and shopping. Hotel is located adjacent to the river and if you get the river view room it is more expensive, but well worth it. Front desk staff and valets were very friendly and accommodating. They answered all our questions about recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. The hotel restaurant was very good, but a tad bit on the pricey side for breakfast. Food was very good, especially for hotel setting. Staff was very friendly. Room was large (at least by big-city standards). Beds were extremely comfortable. Shower was wonderful. Room was clean and just what you would expect for the price you you're paying (not cheap). Overall great experience. Only downside is that it is a ways from O'Hara Airport and route is subject to delays, so in planning around that, be sure to build in extra time going and coming from airport. The service is great. Dominque was very kind and helped us get a perfect room in the hotel. Thank you for the great view. The pillows are very fluffy and the rooms are clean. Just make sure to bring a HDMI cable for Apple TV or an Amazon fire stick. The TV’s are not smart TV’s.

You could not ask for a better location in downtown Chicago. Walking distance to lots of great places including the Riverwalk, and the magnificent mile. There are some great city The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and accommodating staff.

I am writing this to say how friendly and helpful the entire staff was. Especially the staff in the lobby and bar, but especially the bellman Charles. While waiting in the lobby on others in our group, he was very informative on all things Chicago and greeted me each time into and out of the lobby. Great job Sonesty team! Thank you Charles!

Everyone was extremely nice and helpful! The room was clean with a great view of the city! Bellman Billy was so helpful with our bags and valet parking took excellent care of our vehicle and helpful with directions and tips for getting around the city! We plan on coming back and staying here!

This hotel is a great value for the location, room amenities and beautiful river view. As a family with young kids, we appreciated the room darkening curtains, mini fridge and complimentary water. We had to ask for extra towels in the beginning to have enough for 4 people. More importantly, the room was clean, and service was great.

Pleasant stay. Room is clean, staff are good. The room is spacious with a great view. Location is excellent. But some negatives. Shower pressure was low and the temperature didn’t go very high. They only give you water in your room some days, and the tap water was cloudy, so I didn’t want to drink

Upon arrival I noticed we didn't have a microwave and they immediately brought one to our room. Front room heat wasn't working they immediately got it fixed. Billy the bellman is awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Definitely recommend. This is our second stay this year and we'll be back for sure. Hoyts restaurant is awesome. Strong drinks and the bacon jam burger was out of this world
