I chose this place because of the location. Leone Beach and Loyola Park are about a block from the hotel so it took maybe 5-7 minutes to walk there with my 5 year old. It's about 25 minutes from Michigan Ave and maybe 35 from Shedd Aquarium. I also chose this place over an airbnb because of the continental breakfast thinking I could grab something without worrying about having to cook in the mornings. I never made the effort to get continental breakfast because I just didn't feel comfortable eating anything from there but that was me being judgy based on other aspects of the place so I can't speak to anything related to the continental breakfast or their kitchen. The beds were comfortable and room decor was decent for what it was. They have a small parking lot but it's Chicago so I guess that's to be expected. The receptionist area is very small but clean. The elevator is old, makes noises and constantly smelled like grape vape or maybe it was a flavored cbd pen. I'm not sure as I don't smoke but have been around the smell before. I didn't mind the smell but just sharing for other's awareness that may not care for it. LOL. I walked into my room to find there was a dip in the floor and the door guard was broken off the door. I will say the room and the bathroom were clean so no issues with that. The bathtub floor was squishy and moved so I assume there was water trapped under the floor. It was slightly difficult keeping a decent water temperature in the tub because the water would get really hot or really cold. I was able to achieve a temperature that I would say was hot but tolerable. It was definitely a few degrees above warm but I deal better with warm than I do with cold. LOL The employees that worked while we were there were extremely nice and welcoming. I didn't take pictures nor did I report it while I was there as my focus was on enjoying my short trip with my 5 year old. She was really excited about spending a lot of time at the beach. If you just need a place to sleep then this place will probably meet your needs. I really loved the area so in the future I will most likely try to get an airbnb but will use the Super 8 as a last resort if an airbnb is not available.

I love the Wyndham chain and I generally stay at economic base motels. The location of this property should be based on where you need to be. It's an OLD motel. The room was clean and the front desk person was nice but for the price I should have stayed somewhere else. I felt safe and maybe I'm out of date with the cost of motel room prices but for the rack rate price I may have selected another motel. If you need a place to crash or if you aren't bringing the family or trying to impress anyone; it's not bad place.

Very pleased with my stay. All staff was courteous and helpful and I really appreciate the care taken for health and safety. The room was large and really lovely and the bed, oh, the bed! I have never slept so well in a hotel before. I would definitely like to stay at this property again on my next trip to Chicago.

Customer service that assisted me was very nice and friendly. Check-in was great. Elevator is extra small, so distance yourself and still not be 6ft apart only 2 can be inside and do not have a lot of luggage cause that would be a diaster and multiple trips. Says no smoking in elevator yet each time there was a strong stench of fresh cigarettes smoke in the air. BIG DISAPPROVAL seeing that the front desk was right next to the elevator and should see when someone came and went smoking cigarettes and you have to pass that close tighknit lobby

Only one way in and one way out and the desk has to buzz you in to get to your hotel room. At times this can be an inconvience.

Room, not much in way of excitment but it was ok. You have to walk down a hallway to get entrance to your room, no access to your room from the outside. Parking: Unless you can park in the front facing street the additional parking is very hard to get in and get out, it is very very tight. You may have damage to you car by you or by someone else so be sure to check upon leaving.

Near the water. plenty of food places not far away. May check other hotels near by next time I visit.

Unpleasant smell inside the lifts and corridor all the time. When we did the booking, breakfast was mentioned included however it was not given due to COVID pendamic. Didn’t get the worth of money at least on the last day of our stay as the blankets & pillow were stinky (informed about this at reception on next day).

Hotel staff was very cordial.

The female desk clerk was completely uncooperative. The phone and heat did not work, NO HOUSEKEEPING. I felt like an inconvenience. 4 nights of B.S. after being charged the full stay up front. Seriously, the night clerk needs a refresher in customer service.

They messed up our reservations and will not refund our money. They still want us to cancel the wrong reservation that they made for in September. And keep the money. Which is $679. They couldn’t get us a room for the week we originally asked for. But with a VERY empty parking lot. We are from South Carolina we drove 700+ miles for my grandpas funeral. They are very rude and NOT family friendly. highly recommend to not stay here. Plenty of complaints just like mine are being made.

It is exactly like the title says. It is worth the money you pay for it. Don't judge by first impressions when you arrive. Yes, there is no lobby, but the rooms are super clean with clean washrooms that need a reno for sure. Had a great sleep , since the neighborhood and guests were extremely quiet. So, you really, get what you're ready to pay.

I was not expecting the world at a Super 8, however, since this was a Wyndham property I was expecting more than what I got. The rooms are dark and uninviting. The floors are not carpeted and are filthy. My 2 yr old walked barefoot on the floor for a very short time and her feet were filthy. I could feel grit on the bottom of my feet too. Terrible. The remote/tv did not work at all. The coffee maker did not come with any instructions as to how to use it either. Lastly, I was charged 3 times. I was changed before i checked in, again when i checked in and a third time when i checked out. it took 3 days to rectify this problem. The Manager was not helpful and was not helpful. If i could give less than a 1 I would. I'm SHOCKD the Wyndham would have a property under their name.
