Detailed Reviews
If you arrive at O'Hare, you can get the shuttle at door #2 of the Hotel/Shuttle area (domestic flights). Shuttles every 20 minutes. 10-minute ride to the hotel. If you're coming from the city, you can get off at the blue line Cumberland stop and walk 100 yards to the hotel (much faster to do that than ride the rest of the way to the airport and take the shuttle). Tonight, Devotion checked us in with pleasant efficiency. The Exec. Lounge isn't open on the weekends, so they gave me $10 toward food tonight and a breakfast ticket. I used the $10 toward a tasty hamburger. Excellent service in the restaurant.
I'm in the part of the hotel right next to a freeway and train line and I can hear the traffic while I type, but when I move into the bedroom, it'll be good. If you don't want traffic noise, you might want to ask about it. The hotel is close to the airport and there is noise as planes pass directly overhead.
It's a Saturday evening, I'm Titanium with Marriott, and they upgraded me. Not sure I've ever had a hotel room this big. Comfortable. Thank you Marriott!
Great stay. Thanks.

Staying in a large city like Chicago presents so many choices for lodging, you may have a tough time deciding. There is always the temptation to select a hotel downtown, close to the action. But if you want to save some money and enjoy easy proximity to the airport, a good choice for lodging is the Renaissance Hotel Chicago O’Hare Airport.
Large in size, this hotel has over 350 rooms and each is a suite, complete with mini fridge, desk, and sleeper sofa. The suite provides lots of room to stretch out after a long day exploring the city. The pillowtop beds are comfortable, too, and the interior is quiet. You should have no trouble getting a restful night’s sleep, free from distractions.
Outside of the rooms, guests will find a Starbucks right next to the front desk, a restaurant, pool, exercise room, etc. The emphasis here seems to be more on the rooms themselves, rather than extra amenities. And that is fine, because for me, what I wanted was a comfortable, quiet place to rest after running around the city and seeing the sights.
The outside of this hotel looks much like an office building and isn’t that attractive. The daily parking is quite expensive, so I recommend avoiding it and using the train or ride share, if possible. I highly recommend using the train, since the station is very close, only a short walk away. The airport is close, too, so you don’t need to worry too much about getting back for your flight. They offer complementary shuttle service to and from the airport, so they have you covered.
I found the service at Renaissance Hotel Chicago O’Hare Airport quite good and I was most appreciative of the late night assistance the front desk person gave me, around 2am one night, when I was unable to find my cell phone. All things considered, this is a pleasant hotel and it’s priced right, perfect for those who want more space and who want to be close to the airport and train station.

The Renaissance Chicago O'Hare was a great place to stay. The employees were kind and helpful. The hotel was very clean and nice and quiet. The pool water was not too cold. The food was very good. The hotel is located minutes from O'Hare with access to one of the greatest cities in the world within thirty minutes. Public transportation is great in Chicago. The CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) Blue Line Train will take you to the heart of the city.

This was probably the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at. This hotel is selling rooms with club level access when in fact there is no club level available. Instead of charging the room rate without club access we were offered a $10 voucher for the market and TWO breakfast vouchers for two adults and two children. Yes, breakfast for two people when there were four. We were never actually given these vouchers. In the morning I called the front desk to inquire about the breakfast. Apparently, the restaurant in the hotel is not even open and the breakfast was good for a coffee and sandwich at the Starbucks located in the hotel. Unfortunately, the Starbucks was out of almost everything. I booked a club level room to have the convenience of drinks, snacks and breakfast during my stay with my grandchildren. We were told we would have complimentary water in the room. There were none of the amenities that were listed in the website. No robes or slippers. No water. Nothing. I would have brought snacks and water from home had the hotel bothered to inform me there was no club level. The room had a “pullout” sofa with no sheets. Just a pancake thin nasty mattress. It took over 1/2 hour and two phone calls for sheets and the sent a thin comforter to try and cushion the mattress. It didn’t work. The kids could feel the metal. Staff was less then friendly at check in. The people working there can definitely make or break your stay in a hotel. I was told points would be added to my Marriott account but that has not happened. Probably never will. Do not stay here. There are many other options near the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times because of the location. This probably will be the last time until they update the tv’s. They are still the old tv’s that were the first “flat screen” tv’s. The towels looked like they have been washed millions of times. When we requested more towels the housekeeping told us they had to wait for the laundry to be done. We never got the other towels. The staff does the best they can for a busy airport location. The restaurant & bar were closed because of covid, so we got free Starbucks each morning which was a nice substitute. But we would have preferred the restaurant. Overall, its a good location at a good price, which would be great if they attended to a few details.

I have so many mixed feelings about this hotel. It was sold out the first 2 nights we were there, so I understand they were very busy. Half of the front desk staff was extremely kind when we interacted with them, the other 2 were not friendly in the least. The room was clean, but definitely dated and several items in need of repair (the blackout curtains were out of their tracks and shredded on the sides, warped wood that was cracking in the bathroom and living area, just a bit run down looking in general and broken furniture out front of the hotel). Housekeeping didn't come any of the days we were there, but I'm thinking it was a fluke that they missed our room because they were so busy and my sister who stayed there had housekeeping daily. The pool area is nice. They played kids movies via a projector on the wall on the weekend and my kids loved that experience. The location is so close to the blue line and that was wonderful too. Overall, I might stay here again for the right price simply because of the pool area and how close it is to the train station.

I travel to Chicago from a nearby city for fun about six times a year, and so I like to check out different hotels in the area once in a while (but stay in the ones I like repeatedly). This hotel is lacking when compared to other 4-star hotels in the area in terms of service, rooms, and breakfast.
I was offered an upgrade when checking in due to my platinum status, but was told that the room was on the third floor. I asked if the room was quiet and was told that it was not near any major street. Upon entering the room, I can see the freeway right in front of the window at our level. It was so loud that I immediately went downstairs and asked to be switched to a room that was not facing the freeway. I apologized for the inconvenience out of politeness, and the person at the front desk did not say anything even though he was the one who told me the room was quiet. He then put me in a room on the 7th floor (out of 16 floors in the hotel), BUT STILL FACING THE FREEWAY. The hotel is situated in a way that most rooms are away from the freeway, and the hotel was far from full the night we stayed there. My husband and I couldn't sleep well due to the traffic noise, but we were too tired to ask for another new room.
We had breakfast the next morning at the restaurant as the concierge lounge was closed, and the spread they had was worse than Fairfield or other Marriott properties that offered free breakfast. It was definitely not worth the $20 they charge per person.
Given that there are so many hotels in the area, you may want to check out other places for your next stay.

By far one of the worse hotels I have stayed in ever. I had to wait over ten minutes to get checked in despite checking in after 8 pm. The lobby had litter and unattended/abandoned luggage that was there the whole evening. The on-site restaurant had wait staff that was hanging out in the staff room and we had to ask the kitchen staff to seat us. The kitchen staff went to staff room to ask the wait staff to assist us. The beds are uncomfortable. I stayed there with my family but there were only towels for two in the room. When I called the front desk to ask for towels, no one picked up for over 15 minutes. Ultimately I gave up and made do unhappily. Hotel is next to a highway and the highway noises were very loud and disruptive while in the room.

Always easy to check-in and get park and fly validation. The front desk staff is helpful and wearing masks. The airport shuttle is great in that it is scheduled at the bottom and top of the hour. Parking is safe and covered. We have a family of five and we usually get the room with two doubles and the sofa bed. Everything was clean except my son found a piece of popcorn on the night stand. This morning we had a beautiful sunrise view and could see the planes on approach. Despite this, it is always very quiet. The restaurant is currently closed due to COVID, but there is a Starbucks in the lobby. There is an blue line train station next door (Cumberland station) that goes downtown but we’ve never used that.

When we got there at first the guys at the front desk was chilling on his phone clearly not work releated, it took a long time to get dinner on site and the food was absolutely terrible. Then when we got to the room and pulled out the couch bed (there were 3 of us) there was 0 comforter just a single small sheet and a blanket. We called for a comforter but it took 3 calls to get it. I then asked how much a chocolate bar that I was holding was, they said $3 charged me $5. Pull out bed was so uncomfortable you could literally feel the springs and was rock hard everywhere else and we had to use 3 sheets to get it like that. Only ok part of this hotel was the Wi-Fi. This hotel is also in a terrible area. Would not recommend.

The shuttle runs every 30 minutes. The parking is in a garage attached to the hotel. There is elevator service in the garage so it’s easy, even with baggage. Of note: when departing ORD the shuttle will drop you at the terminal. When arriving, ALL hotel and shuttles pick up at the bus/shuttle center across from terminal 2, so you have to drag your bags through the lower level and up and down several elevators.
