Room accommodations, meeting room and group meals were well administered and planned with sufficient pleasant staff to make the event a success. Hotel staff were efficient and helpful. The location is great and close to restaurants and drugstores. The wi-fi connections were stable without annoying disconnects. The training at your hotel was a great experience.
Just steps from MI ave, great safe location, clean and terrific friendly service. We had all our family stay at the Sofitel and each family had a great experience. Would recommend staying in while visiting Chicago
Took a little Stay-cation for my 65th birthday! At dinner the host presented me with free dessert! The food in Le Bar was excellent and plentiful. The breakfast equally tasty! The room was awesome! I had a corner room on the 22nd floor, so the view was spectacular. Even though there was a robe in my room (2 of them to be exact), neither fit me. I probably could have asked for a larger one, however I had my own. The shades are motorized, and slightly sheer so the brightness of the day can come through in the mornings, but provide privacy. Water was placed in the rooms, and were also available at the front desk. Though it says a mini bar is available in the rooms; my room did not have one. The lotion and other amenities they provide smells very good, and cause a relaxing effect. Everything is within walking distance if you wish to go shopping or have a test for something not on their menu. Museums, shows, or other entertainment is a very short bus ride, The staff is great and someone is always there ready to assist you! I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel!…
We had a great stay at Sofitel! The customer service was the best part! The beds were soft and comfy and the rooms were spotless! Wynter was sure to make sure our stay was comfortable. He provided bell service and was very pleasant and even made sure we did not leave any personal items behind! We would definitely stay when we are back in Chicago!
The Sofitel is my favourite hotel in Chicago -- by far the best guest service, in my opinion, compared against other hotels in its category. Beautiful property, well-appointed rooms (and the high floor rooms are indeed worth it for the view). But the real draw is the staff at all levels
Awesome stay and awesome staff! Made even better by a perfect location. The person who handled our check in(Joshua) was great, held our bags until room was ready(our flight got in at 10 am). Texted us when it was ready, and even upgraded our room as well as made sure it was on a pure floor(allergy free room). Stay was very nice and we will stay again!
This was my second visit to Sofitel Chicago. The staff is always courteous, accommodating, and prompt. Beautiful hotel, great location. Enjoyed closing every evening with a glass of wine on the outdoor patio of Le Bar. The heaters on the patio make for a delightfully warm and cozy visit.
Great hotel in a great, central location. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly (except the gal that checked us out and acted like adding my loyalty number was a no-no...). Every time we left and came back the bellmen/valets opened the doors and wished us a good day. Loved all the fresh flowers that are changed regularly. We had a classic room on the 6th floor so the view wasn't much, basically the top of a parking garage. We were right across from the elevators and I worried it would be noisy but I never once heard them, or any other noise during our stay - great soundproofing! The bed is divine - very supportive but also soft and I slept like a baby. Storage spaces are concealed and there are plenty of them. There is a main light switch and switch for the shades right next to the bed. The room could use one more chair by the desk area so two people can sit at the same time. Bathroom was very large. The shower felt a smidge tight but water pressure was fantastic. Amenities were Balmain and smelled light and fresh. We did order room service our first night - the fries are really good but otherwise the menu wasn't super appealing. Service was prompt and friendly though. Overall really loved this hotel and would stay here again in a heartbeat!…
My husband and I stayed in a "prestige suite" at the Sofitel for three months. Overall, it was a great choice for a long-term stay. The bed was comfortable, the views of Lake Michigan were beautiful, and the service was good. We never heard noise from neighboring rooms and very rarely heard anyone in the hallway. The footprint of suite was triangular, with a bedroom and bathroom in the wide part of the triangle, and the living room at the tapering middle and point. My husband and I both worked remotely from the suite, so it was nice having a bit of space (700 square feet) to move around in, though it wasn't easy for both of us to participate in Zoom meetings at the same time. (There was really only one work space, in the living room.) When it was necessary, my husband was able to improvise and do meetings in the bedroom. We also struggled a bit with the slow wi-fi (which unfortunately couldn't be upgraded). To ease the pain, we ended up buying a hotspot. The bedroom had one fairly narrow closet and, under a TV, a separate cabinet with shelves. It would have been nice to have a proper bureau, but we more or less had enough room for our clothes. We used the hotel laundry service regularly. Like all hotel laundry services, it was expensive, but it was reliable and we appreciated having it. During the time we stayed there, the TVs weren't set up for streaming, so we ended up watching Hulu/Netflix etc. on an iPad, which was not ideal -- however, around the time we left, we heard that the hotel might be upgrading its TVs. The decor of the room was fine. Several pieces of furniture and one of the paintings looked a bit worse for wear, but the stunning city and lake views more than made up for the imperfections. Probably the worst thing about the furniture was the sofa, which wasn't super comfortable. The sofas in the hotel lobby were better. When we were first arrived, we ordered breakfast through room service several times and thought it was pretty good. However, eventually we started exploring other nearby options and found several favorites, including Nico, Somerset, Adorn, and Cafecito. There is also a Starbucks across the street, which I visited frequently. Our favorite dinner spot was Alpana, just around the corner. The marble bathroom was roomy, with a walk-in shower and a separate bathtub. On the downside, some of the bathrobes were scratchy and uncomfortable. Every now and then, we got a really soft one, and I'd stick it in the closet for several days so that housecleaning wouldn't change it out. The staff was very friendly. We especially appreciated Sarah, who cleaned our room most days, and Wynter, who often greeted us at hotel's front doors. We also really appreciated the beautiful lobby. Near the entrance is a ledge that is regularly decorated with fresh flowers. I used to enjoy seeing the display get redesigned each week. I used the Sofitel's gym frequently and appreciated the treadmills, the elliptical machines, and the open space where I could do yoga. On the other hand, the "office center" is a bit sad -- basically, just an open counter with a printer. The space opens up, loft-style, to the lobby, which can be noisy. However, there is a room with built-in desks near the second-floor restrooms where one can work with a bit more quiet. The location was excellent for us -- walking distance to everything we needed in Streeterville and the Gold Coast: the lake, high-end shops on Michigan, the MCA, etc. Overall, we really liked this hotel, and thought it offered good value for the money. If we had stayed a shorter time, we probably would have fewer little gripes, but after three months, you really notice every imperfection! This was our second stay at the Sofitel; we also stayed there for about a week in 2021 and really liked it.…
This hotel is beautiful, clean and the service was impeccable from check in to check out. Room service was delicious and all of the staff were friendly and so helpful. It’s location is central to such great shopping and restaurants. Loved it there.
