There's a reason why the Pendry Chicago has a Tripadvisor Gold "Best of the Best" Seal. Everything from precheck-in, to check-in, to the room, to the dining, to the check-out was perfect. We are a family of 4 having a staycation in Chicago, so we could be close to the Chicago River to see the St. Patrick's green river, as well as take a nice walk to the Art Institute of Chicago to spend the day there. I messaged the Pendry reservations desk a couple of days before check-in to confirm our reservation because we booked through the Capital One Premier Collection, and Chelsea was super friendly and helpful. I mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, and on check-in day, there was a thoughtful gift to surprise us when we entered our room. :) Check-in with kids can always be a challenge, with the parent at the front desk and the young kids trying not to cause mayhem. But while I was at the front desk, the Pendry attendant Andres offered my kids some stuffed animals (which was perfect because we forgot their stuffies at home!). And Andres offered and served them the Pendry signature citrus beverage, which made their day. Alicia at the check-in desk was very welcoming and efficient, explaining all the benefits of my reservation. She made it known that if we needed anything at all, that they were eager to assist 24hrs a day. The room itself was beautiful and comfortable, with fantastic views of the Chicago River, the city architecture, and the lake. There were separate thermostats for the living area and bedroom, so you won't feel cold during the wintertime. There is an espresso machine in the room, and the coffee pods (Vittoria brand) were delicious. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were plenty and smelled wonderful. We had some dining credits to use, so we ordered some food to go from the Venteux restaurant for dinner, and the Venteux cafe for breakfast the morning after. Food tasted great, and the credits were taken care of on the room folio without any issues. The location is perfect as it’s on Michigan Ave just south of the river, and within walking distance of Millennium Park and the Art Institute among other fantastic Chicago venues and restaurants. The Pendry building is a beautiful piece of Chicago architecture with the bronze and gold trims. The hotel is the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, family friendly, and convenience. I’m in my Uber driving in Chicago traffic and figured it is a perfect opportunity to write this review I was really excited to try Pendry’s product. I used AMX FHR and it was great to receive early check in (I didn’t need it this go round), daily breakfast credit, and a respectable food and beverage credit, along with a late checkout (Which came in handy with my late flight out). My experience started off great. The front desk agent was personable, and charming. I was happy to hear about the complimentary car service (2 miles from the property), and the fitness offerings (Took care of the essentials). Upon check out I gave this feedback to the agent. They may need to hire more food and beverage team members. While the service itself was decent, everyone seemed rushed. Each time my food was dropped off, they were gone before I could ask for condiments. Last night the spaghetti and lobster dish sounded amazing. I asked the server if the chef could substitute the cream with a white wine sauce, or something non dairy. He shared that the chef shared they were unable to. This was very surprising. This hotel does not charge a motel price, has a trained chef on hand, and a full kitchen. The fact that the chef didn’t even take time to come out and attempt to create a dish was very disappointing. The front desk agent did not ask how my stay was. I am not sure if it was due to the stations being so close to each other, and there were other guests checking in. She did not verbally respond to my feedback. She did share she was taking off the resort charges due to my experience. While I am appreciate, I did not share the feedback for this reason. Another miss. A call should have been made to the front desk, or food and beverage manager. The valet car driver was nice, and the valet/baggage attendant female when I checked out saved my overall experience. I will give The Pendry at another location a second opportunity. And hope the service inadequacies were a one off.…

Great service, clean hotel, rooms were clean and great view. You are at the heart of Downtown! You can walk to and around the river all about 15 minutes probably even faster. Definitely recommend this hotel! The staff is friendly, the bar is always packed with a great crowd. 711 is right by you with CVs across the street.

We've been traveling to Chicago in December as a couple for 15 years to celebrate our anniversary. We've stayed in a different hotel every year because we like staying at new places. Our experience this year at the Pendry was just about perfect and honestly, the Pendry is the first hotel we've stayed at we actually want to stay at again because we loved it so much. The service, the food and drinks, the design, the vibe, everything was fantastic. Our tower room was perfect for the trip and we were surprised to find the extra large soaking tub in the bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant breakfast was top-notch. Service was attentive to our questions and needs. The only negative I can think of was the fitness center was under renovation so everything was downsized into a conference room. But I'm excited to see the new fitness center when it reopens. Kudos to the Pendry, we can't wait to come back again next December. …

The stay at the Pendry was great and exactly what my friends and I were looking for on our trip to Chicago! The check in process was easy and smooth and the room exceeded expectations.
