The Chicago Hotel Collection Magnificent Mile boasts a prime location that many guests appreciate for its convenience to local attractions and dining. However, the hotel has faced criticism for its cleanliness, with clean rooms overshadowed by extra housekeeping fees and a lack of toiletries. Service at the hotel frequently falls short of expectations, with unhelpful staff and poor communication often mentioned. In addition, reviewers note the rooms can appear outdated and may not be as clean as desired. Guests are also dismayed by the hidden fees, compulsory amenity charges for subpar services, and the overall sense of poor value for the money spent.

The first room smelled really bad so they moved us, however it smelled as well. I found that the HVAC filter was extremely dirty and had them replace it which helped a bit.

I paid extra for a suite which was large however the shower was tiny and difficult to use for a 6'1" tall man.

The sheets didn't fully cover the mattress. They were using multiple flat sheets instead of a fitted sheet and that meant your legs would end up on the bare mattress which is disgusting. They were not able to provide proper sheets, but we did get more flat sheets and added them ourselves.

Maid service isn't available even when you stay for 5 nights!

Great location.

When we arrived at the hotel we were told that we owed $400 additional US to check in ... we had no choice but to pay this fee ... the rooms are cleaned every 4 days and they do not give you enough toiletries to last the 4 days ( 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 small shampoo and conditioner and 1 small bar of soap, no body wash or body lotion). There is garbage in the hallways because rooms are not cleaned (everyone puts garbage in the hallway)... we stayed for 5 nights and our room was not cleaned.. They promise restaurant discounts etc and they were NOT provided even though we asked at the front desk 3 times during our stay and we're promised them each time. If you want your room cleaned before the 4 days there is an additional $50 US fee..Front desk staff is rude and all guests were complaining about added fees. Terrible experience...

Great location. Hotel was relatively quiet despite construction on weekday mornings.

However, this was the worst hotel service I’ve ever experienced. I feel like I paid for nothing more than a bed and toilet. They charged $120 for 3 nights of “amenities”: using the Keurig machines in the lobby and a basket of water bottles and sodas, which they never gave me. I also requested housekeeping service during my stay, but my room was not cleaned. I had to go down to the lobby to ask for new towels and throw out my own trash. When I needed to store my luggage upon check-out, I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to unlock the storage room and when I came to retrieve my luggage, I had to ask 5 different employees before I could get my items back. Clearly, the management at this hotel is extremely incompetent. Thankfully, I switched to a different hotel during my last night and had a much better experience.

Hotel Audrey became our home for 5 nights as we were in town for a our daughter's wedding that had to be postponed from 2020. We had many family and friends, from all over the country, many visiting Chicago for the first time, so we really wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and have fun. From the point of coordination/planning and through the entire ceremony weekend, Christa and her entire team didn't disappoint.

We needed many rooms plus a hospitality suite and Christa provided everything we asked for. Hotel Audrey is in a great location, right near Michigan Avenue, so shopping and dining is not a problem. Not to mention a Geno's Deep Dish right outside their door. For the location, the price was very fair. Garage parking is close by with reasonable prices. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a staff shortage due to covid, so rooms weren't able to be cleaned as normal but if you needed it cleaned, fresh towels, or trash picked up, all you had to do was ask and it was taken care of promptly. The Audrey staff was very helpful, pleasant and always accommodating to requests. We received only positive feedback from our family and friends on how much they enjoyed the Hotel Audrey. That says it all.

If you are planning an overnight stay in Chicago, I would highly recommend you consider Hotel Audrey. Thank you Christa and the entire team.

We stayed in a suite in the Hotel Audrey from July 31-August 3. We were very pleased with the room and the service. We arrived in Chicago early Saturday morning and thought we would have to leave our bag and wander until check in time. But the desk clerk was lovely and let us check in, as they had a suite available. We were told on check-in that there was not daily maid service, but to let them know if we need anything and they would see what could be done. Luckily, we keep ourselves pretty neat, so it wasn't a problem.
The suite was pretty spacious with a king size bedroom, office area and living area. These areas are not able to be closed off from each other, but that didn't bother us. We just liked having the space. The only room complaint is that the bathroom is pretty small. Also, being in the first room off the elevator, we thought there might be noise from that. There wasn't but you could hear anybody talking in the hallway. It was pretty annoying when the Lollapalooza attending girls down the hall wanted to discuss their day, standing in the hallway at midnight. Not the hotel's fault exactly, but some soundproofing would help.
The location of Hotel Audrey is great. It's only a block off Michigan Ave, and right next to Neiman Marcus and Geno's Pizza, but it sill manages to feel like a quiet spot. We were able to easily walk to tons of shopping and food and get an Uber / Lyft without too much wait.
The lobby has a really comfortable vibe, but I hope they get the lobby coffee shop back open soon. I know that running hotels in the time of COVID is leading to a lot of loss of services, so I'm willing to adjust, but I hope said service come back soon.

This hotel is centrally located in Magnificant Mile and is close to shopping, restaurants, and museums. We stayed here during the 4th of July weekend to celebrate my daughter's birthday and they upgraded our room. The room was very large and we loved the trendy decorated bathroom and living area. The staff was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. Due to covid, they do not clean the rooms but I was able to get fresh towels right away. They also encouraged us to call them if we needed anything. The only small negative is that there are no mini-fridges in the rooms. I would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic hotel located at the uppermost north end of the Magnificent Mile, and conveniently located right next door to a Gino’s East pizzeria. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. My room was comfy and quiet.

Like every hotel at the height of the pandemic, Hotel Audrey still offers limited services as of June, 2021. No maid service unless requested. No bar. No coffee or breakfast buffet. Even the vending machines were missing, as they’re tied to a union contract that includes the bar service. I don’t know if it’s hotel policy, city policy, or state policy that keeps these outdated and unnecessary measures in place, but it’s long past time to “return to normal.”

The fact that you’re paying full price for half a hotel is part of the “normal” that we’ve been forced to tolerate since the pandemic began. Sadly, this hotel is only following the same rules as every other hotel in the city.

I recently booked a room for 8 nights for my sister, her boyfriend & my niece at Hotel Audrey. My sister stated the hotel was in the perfect location; especially since Lurie’s Children’s Hospital was very close by & within walking distance (which was exactly what they wanted since their daughter needed to be at the hospital for 5-10 days). My sister was very happy with the beautiful/spacious suite they stayed for a few nights. My niece’s surgery ended up being cancelled & rescheduled and the hotel worked with me to ensure I wouldn’t be charged for the remainder of the 5 nights. The Hotel’s Manager Crysta Rome was truly incredible. She was there for us from the start; she addressed all questions/concerns and she went above and beyond to ensure that my sister & her family were taken care of/happy with their stay. She was also the one who helped with the cancellation for the remainder days and made it a smooth/easy/worry-free process. Words cannot express our gratitude for Crysta’s professionalism, promptness and most importantly her kindness. Crysta really made a big difference in my sister’s stay; we will be rebooking my sister & her family’s stay next month without a doubt because of the amazing customer service Crysta provided. Thanks so much Crysta (you are such a blessing) & Hotel Audrey!!! ❤️

Booked directly through the hotel not a third party so I was aware of all the extra fees I see people complaining about in the reviews. Fees suck but they’ve become an excepted norm.

The location has easily accessible options for the red line (train), food, shopping, and tourist attractions. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful, there was no fridge in my room and the lady at the front desk radioed to have it sent ASAP.

The crew that handles things like that came to check the room to verify no fridge was in the room, and would take care of it. Another trip to the front desk when nothing showed up by the next day. Another radio call for a fridge.Nadda.

The room next door had checked out and I asked the room attendant if it had a fridge and if it could be moved, she called someone about it 45 minutes later it was taken care of, and an hour later she came back to my room not to clean but to make sure I got the fridge. I will be reaching to the hotel about the thoroughness and effort of the room attendant.

This was the second time I’ve stayed here in a four month timeframe and didn’t think twice about booking a second time.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights with a deal we got on Travel Zoo. We had a queen or king room on the 25th floor with a view down to other buildings. We were within walking distance to many things and set out each day going in different directions. The room was clean and the hotel felt safe, even though the front desk people never even lifted their heads to look at who was coming through. They had a great Keurig coffee station set up in the lobby with coffee all day for free. They also gave us these weird plastic bags containing six drinks for each day we were there. It was VERY odd. There were all sorts of "resort fees", etc that added up to WAY more than any of those sodas were worth. Honestly, hotels either need to get rid of those fees or just raise the price of their rooms. For the deal we got, it was definitely worth staying here1
