The Radisson Blu Aqua is located in the famous Aqua building on Columbus, close to Millenium Park, Michigan Avenue, etc.. I used to live in the neighborhood and always wanted to stay in the Aqua, so when a trip took me back to Chicago I was happy it worked out. I got a great rate through Trip Advisors Plus. My room was cool (it was hot outside) and the bed was comfortable. Most surprising, it was quiet, even though downtown Chicago can be noisy. I slept great! My room had a mini-fridge and a coffee pot, and was stocked with coffee and tea. I love the location, because it's walking distance to the many fun attractions in Chicago, as well as to the El (0.3 miles) or the Metro (1.2 miles). I used a parking app to find a reasonably priced parking spot close by. The only downside for me was how long it took to check in. I waited in line for probably 15 minutes. Two of the counters (of 3) seemed to be held up by complicated questions because only one desk was really moving people along.…
Chicago is an amazing city and this hotel is just the perfect place to stay when visiting the city. It is perfectly located, a short walk to multiple L lines. The views are amazing. The outside pool area was even better than advertised. Can't recommend this place enough, if possible try to get a corner room, the wrap around balcony is worth it. Only heads up, if you ask for something from housekeeping, towels, coffee cups, etc it will take a very long time to get those items so plan ahead.
We stay at the Radisson Blue often and love the location and views. The front desk staff are always efficient and helpful and especially so on our last visit. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but Dana at the front desk made sure we got our room in time for my wife's birthday dinner reservation and took the time to make sure it worked out.
We booked this hotel for 2 nights as we were running the Chicago marathon and it was one of the preferred hotels. There were 3 adults staying in a 2 Queen room. We took the train in and it was a fairly easy bus ride to the hotel. Right as you walk in, the vibe is very professional, chic, modern and lively. We loved it! The desk Staff was really friendly and helpful and we got right into our room. The room was super clean, modern, chic and felt brand new. It was spacious enough with plenty of stuff for our gear and luggage and had a great view with a small balcony. This sounds funny, but the foyer/bathroom floors were the best. They were like black quartz and very glittery/sparkly. It made our stay quite fun when the light would reflect off the floors (lol) The safe and fridge were great to have in the room. The free bottled waters and the coffee maker with a variety of teas and coffees was a nice touch. The desk area was nice and big with lots of plugs and tech. Wifi worked pretty well with all our devices. The beds were very comfy with plenty of pillows, several layers of linens with blankets. The lights above the headboard were nice for reading. The bathroom was immaculate with upgraded toiletries and plenty of towels. The counter had a lot of stuff on it to begin with, so there wasn't a ton of space, but it worked well. The stand up shower was pretty good sized with great water pressure and temperature. What really stands out is the concierge. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, but he literally became our buddy over the three days. Anything we needed: restaurant recommendations, directions, bus schedules, he was ON IT. He literally made our experience SO much easier because he was so eager to help and seemed to know everything! Loved him! On the morning of the marathon, we stored all our bags with no issues. It was a very secure closet and you had to have tags to get your bags. It was nice having that squared away, so we could have stress free morning. We didn't get to enjoy the rest the hotel offered, but I'd definitely come back!…
Overpriced, filthy, missing amenities. Pass this one by folks. Looked like a dog grooming service had been run in the bathroom, no iron, no coffee supplies, broken shower. All for $727 a night. I’d have rather slept in my car
Concierge desk In particular; a gentleman who was born in morocco I don’t remember his name was very pleasant and helpful and on the day we left in pouring rain Hassan went the extra mile ! The housekeeping supervisor on our floor was also very friendly and our room was tidy and all requests were met with a pleasantry.
Really Beautiful Hotel in the downtown area. SUPER LATE POST visited in July 2021 Nice restaurant (Filini) inside the lobby, regal looking decor in the lobby (sorry I didn’t get photos), and the most stunning views from the top floor/premier lounge (we had breakfast & snacks there). I attended a birthday event with my hubby in one of the ball rooms and the food was GREAT! I wish I would have posted right away because sometimes restaurants are epic and closed 2 months later 🙁 Trip was short but great accommodations at the Blu. If your staying in downtown Chicago, don’t forget to check out the bean, magnificent mile, museums, and the river walk. You won’t regret the recommendations. Dress appropriately if visiting in the Winter 🥶 Sorry again for the late post I’m like businesses…. It’s due to Covid 😜…
Attended a wedding event with family. 2 night stay 3 days. Great hotel great staff. Great location. Great bar. Great dine in options. Convenient secure parking. Wonderful rooms. Fast elevators. Plenty of elevators.
This is a perfect hotel for people who like things poorly cleaned and maybe have a Live Laugh Love wood cutout proudly in their home. The whole place lacked sophistication, including the reclaimed wood-look room numbers. General filth around the hotel; it’s obvious that the manager has the same tunnel vision the cleaning staff does. Reserved a king but sleeping apart in two queens from their room management services. Mattress is particularly cheap feeling. I am sure the filling was used to protect some packaged goods and then was repurposed. Lots of screaming kids. Bar area reminded me of a cafeteria. The comparison I made was that it would have been better to stay at like a Courtyard or maybe a Holiday Inn Express.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and every time it's excellent. It's quiet, clean, safe and their third floor outdoor pool and terrace is a lovely oasis in the summer. Their staff is always exceptional from even when I booked I believe I spoke with Nicoletta? She was lovely in asking if I had any special requests. The front desk was always efficient and very helpful. I was in town to attend a conference and chose this hotel over a neighboring hotel selected by the conference as it has always been a reliable choice. Highly recommended.
