I stayed 7 days for a business trip. Overall, there were no such issues with my stay. I would strongly recommend staying in this hotel. Pro: 1) Equipped with a small kitchen (including a big fridge, induction oven, kitchenware, micro oven) 2) Great breakfast with variations 3) Great view from my 16th-floor room 4) Spacious and clean room 5) Good wifi speed Cons: 1) The only con is the housekeeping is done once in three days. Despite of request, they refused to clean the room before their schedule. 2) Toiletries may not be sufficient for three days---but despite request at the reception they reused to provide before housekeeping schedule on every 3rd day
We loved our corner suite with a view - 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Free hot breakfast and an indoor pool. Walkable to the aquarium and lakefront trail. Roosevelt station to multiple lines just a few minutes walk away. Trader Joe’s on the corner. We were thrilled that our room was ready early. All of the kids said the hotel was their favorite part of the trip (eye roll). Thank you!
My wife liked it that is all that matters. Everything was close and accessible I would stay there again. There was no complaints from my wife or me. The view from the room was great we were able to see the city in full view.
We only stayed for one night, but I was able to experience a lot in that short stay. We were able to check in an hour early. We happened to be running a little early and they accommodated us. Directions were not clear as to how parking worked, we did manage to figure it out. The pool was a little too chilly. Valet parking was fast and did a fantastic job! The room was spacious. We stayed in a studio suite. It took a minuet to figure out the master switch controlled all the lights through out the room. The fitted sheets on the king size bed were too small. I kept having to get up and pull the corner back over. I was not a fan of the air vent blowing right on to the bed. I woke up with extremely dry lips. The closet door was a little hard to open up. The shower head is what I aspire to have. Top notch water pressure!…
This hotel is fantastic! It’s walking distance to the museum campus and train stations. Rooms have phenomenal view of the lake and downtown and the staff are wonderful! Special shout out to Edgar at their front desk! He was incredibly helpful and made sure I had the best view of the lake! It was my first time visiting Chicago and he helped make sure I knew how to get around and provided me with complementary water bottles. Definitely stay here if you are wanting to check out Shedd Aquarium or the field Museum! Can’t wait to come back!
Had a fantastic experience during my stay here. I came to attend a one week business conference and brought along my wife and daughter . We found our room clean, spacious, and with a gorgeous view of the city. They offer free breakfast in the mornings. There are negative reviews here regarding the food but from my experience it was good. There wasn’t any seats available on our first breakfast. A team member noticed we had our daughter on a stroller. she took the time to accommodate a seat for us. She must have been a coordinator, we were very thankful for this act of kindness. Only valet parking is available but we later found out that all the other hotels only offered valet parking as well . It’s about the same price as public parking so I believe it was a great deal specially because you don’t have the headache of not finding parking . The valet staff have been trained well as they were always welcoming . The front desk team were courteous to our questions . The front desk manager Maya went out of her way to write a letter for my employer explaining why they only offered valet parking. This of course was for reimbursement purposes . Overall the whole team were professionals who made our experience great .…
The property was nice but it was frustrating that I paid for an extra night that I planned on relaxing before a five hour drive in the morning. The relaxation was in light of the reception hour advertised on the Hilton app starting it was every Monday through Thursday night. While I was there the staff said it was only Wednesday nights. I wouldn’t have spent my time or money for the night if Hilton had the correct information. They got me on this one. The hotel was nice and the parking fees were ridiculous, but I guess that’s normal for downtown Chicago. Its close to Soldier Field. It’s too bad I have to give them a bad ranking to get Hilton’s attention and all the bad rankings are based in this fact.
Trader Joe’s 1 block away; bike, bus or walk to Museum Center. Sparkling pool. Only drawback is breakfast isn’t great, tolerated 2 days max; coffee poor quality. There are cold water bottle filler stations on every floor. I really enjoyed my stay here. Absolutely fantastic!
We just returned from a weeklong trip (Monday-Friday) getting our daughter settled in for her first year at Columbia College Chicago. This hotel was a great option for us. It is right on the southern edge of the CCC campus. The one-bedroom suite provided plenty of room to spread out and collect all of the items that we had shopped for in advance. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - even helping us to pack everything into an UberXL on move-in day. We made use of both the hotel gym and pool. Both were clean and well-maintained with good views. The only thing that was disappointing was the free breakfast. We weren't expecting anything gourmet, but have had much better at other Hilton properties. The polystyrene plates and bowls certainly didn't help the experience - or the planet. Also the coffee was horrible and there was only non-dairy creamer available. Fortunately there are several excellent breakfast places nearby and the option to make your own breakfast in the suite kitchen. We will definitely be visiting Chicago periodically over the next 4 years and will be happy to stay at the South Loop Homewood Suites in the future.…
Nothing super fancy, but a good hotel for a stay in Chicago with the family. We’ll stay here again. Clean rooms, easy walk to museums and aquarium. The room was equipped with a kitchen which would be nice for visitors staying a few days. Free breakfast included.
