After deciding to stay here to save a couple hundred dollars, we regret our decision and will spend the extra money in the future. This place was incredibly disappointing from a service and security perspective. The nice thing about this hotel is the location. If you want to stay in the loop near the river, then consider that box checked. Here’s what went wrong: 1. We arrived at our room at about 8:00pm on our second night to find the door propped open with a cleaning magnet that said “In room”. It seemed strange that they would be cleaning that late ESPECIALLY since we were told they wouldn’t clean until after the 2nd night. Turns out they had forgotten to close our door. We called the front desk agent who seemed to recognize that this was unacceptable. She told us the issue would be escalated and the manager would call back the next day. However, that never happened. Later the next day we talked to the front desk, and she said she would talk to the housekeeping staff, but didn’t seem concerned by this blatant security and safety failure. We never did hear back from the manager. 2. This hotel has a unique bedding style in that they don’t have the proper fitted sheets for your bed or a duvet cover and instead drape a regular sheet on the bed and wrap the duvet using two sheets so you wake up in basically 4 individual sheets flopping around. Seems like they could invest in more comfortable bedding. All of this to say, we were very disappointed in our stay and wouldn’t recommend it or visit again.…
Had a wonderful experience in our stay. Hotel was as advertised. Amber especially was very accommodating and did an amazing job checking us in. She was really nice and made the stay very enjoyable. Two thumbs up!!!
This is a wonderful hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago. The staff are attentive and helpful. I especially want to call out Tori snd the front desk staff who are friendly and approachable on top of being extremely professional. Thank you very much!
What a welcome surprise as I made my way to the front desk … greeted with a big smile and hello from Kia … and her coworkers Tori and Dana joined in on the greetings … they started the stay off perfectly! The hotel is clean and the room is wonderful. Not a big room but the accommodations and the touches like a small fridge, an espresso machine and an amazing bed! We will be back Hotel Julian!
We booked a last minute stay for a wedding at the Cultural Center which was a half a block away. The location was terrific not only for the wedding but also for a nice walk around Millenium Park the next morning. The staff was very friendly and the room and facilities were very clean and secure. We ate an appetizer before the wedding in the restaurant/bar and had breakfast there the next morning. The food was terrific!
Perfect welcome Kia. Takes no long to get information for our stay and our rooms. Kia enjoy her job and it's easy to see it. I recommend this accomodation. Thanks a lot for the service. Will coms to Julian again! Thanks
My dad and I came to Chicago for a family trip & Hotel Julian was perfect! Kia was so nice & helped us with an early check in, the staff was always so kind and welcoming, & the rooms were very comfortable. Highly recommend!
Cindy at the front desk was very friendly & helpful. We were having trouble with checking in, but she was able to accommodate us quickly without any issues. Clean rooms. Professional & friendly staff. Highly recommend!
The team at the Julian Where simply amazing! My profound compliments to TRUVS! The customer service by this team was outstanding! And I look forward to my next visit. The fact that this makes me have to write some thing for 200 characters is really stupid. That is probably the reason why most people don’t fill this out.
Arrived early, after a long cab ride from airport. Was feeling a bit stressed, but Kia and the others at check in were absolutely wonderful!!! The rooms are wonderful but the staff are fabulous! Thank you, Kia!
