I'm a Marriott Titanium, so I have more than a few nights at their properties under my belt. It's almost a hobby of mine to stay at as many Marriott brands as I can. This is only my second time at a Tribute Portfolio, but this is now one of my top 5 favorite Marriott properties. I can't wait to return!

This is a new hotel located just across from Wrigley Field. Traveling for vacation purposes, I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay this far outside of downtown. However, there was never one minute I regretted my decision to stay in this area. There is everything you can possibly need within steps of this hotel (bars, restaurants, running areas, public transportation). Other areas of Chicago are only a few minutes away by Uber.

The staff at this gorgeous hotel were so welcoming. At check-in, I was offered a goodie bag with extra masks and hand sanitizer. I really appreciated the hotel's attention to cleanliness during this pandemic. The hotel was spotless and sanitizer was readily available. Due to our current climate, housekeeping was not offered automatically on a daily basis, understandably. But I had no trouble getting towels or anything I needed quickly, and the hotel will accommodate whatever your housekeeping preferences are. Staff were always nice and friendly. There is even a little mascot dog that runs around!

The rooms are beautifully-appointed and a very good size. Everything was clean and comfortable and I felt right at home. I also appreciate that at this hotel, the bath products are provided in dispensers in the shower. I always hated those tiny bottles some hotels still use. The bath linens were fluffy and sheets and bed were comfy. The ONLY drawback I had was a little stain on my carpet.

I didn't get a chance to use the gym here, as I went running instead. I also didn't eat at the adjoining restaurant they are currently using for breakfast.

I can't suggest this hotel enough! It was really a wonderful experience and it's at the top of my favorite hotels list. Thank you to the staff and management of the Zachary!

This was my second time staying at the hotel named in honor of the architect and his contribution to the construction of Wrigley Field. The hotel is complimented with exquisite decor, fantastic food, and impeccable service. My first visit was in July of 2018, peak season, and then most recently this past weekend, low season. I absolutely love this hotel. Devante and Rachel at the front desk were extremely friendly and gracious. I cannot day enough about them. I hope management recognizes their hard work and commitment to customer service! They outdid themselves. I purchased a standard room. There were empty rooms available when we checked in and they upgraded us when they certainly did not have to. Yes, I agree with other posts....coffee in the room would be nice, and even living in DC, $80 for valet is kind of steep, but you cannot beat the location being in front of the infamous marquee and right next to the Cubbie Bear. The service is fantastic and the food and cocktails are great! Try the Love, Alma, named after Zachary’s wife (his forever love). Oh, and they have glamping tents you can rent out on the terrace-very cool! We were there for my sister’s birthday party and she had rented one for the afternoon before the big party but they were shut down due to weather. Reasonably priced. I can see these being a big hit during baseball season! Treat yourself and enjoy this boutique hotel in the heart of Wrigley!

We gifted my mom a weekend in the City for Christmas last year, which included a concert at the Metro (literally a 4 minute walk from the hotel). We decided to stay at Hotel Zachary for its central location and it 100% exceeded all expectations. The valet service was 10/10, we had driven a truck into the city and finding parking was going to be a real chore. It was $75 and completely worth it. The next morning they brought the vehicle around in about 5 minutes. The hotel itself is beautiful; very modern and comfortable. Not to mention the smell! It’s amazing, I would buy candles for my home if they sold it. We did not stay in a “room with a view” but knowing how nice it is now I would pay the extra money for the Wrigley side next time. The double room was very spacious; offering a desk, sitting chair, large bathroom and big tv you can view from bed. One thing that really stood out is the safety of the hotel. You must have a keycard to access the elevators, which really added an extra layer of safety. Food and entertainment were all within a safe walking distance. There was two plush robes provided also. The beds and pillows were comfortable, clean and fluffy. The bathroom was very clean, and had a large walk in, tiled shower. There was plenty of clean towels and wash cloths. The hotel had a coffee shop downstairs that was very good, they offered a free cup of coffee if you showed your room key. Another surprising feature is that canines are welcome! We saw a golden retriever on our visit; for being such a high class stay it was warming to see you could bring your dog if necessary. I never heard any barking during my stay. There is a brunch in house, we did not utilize this as it was $22/person which was too steep for the three of us who only wanted a small bite to eat. They also had little huts outside on a balcony, they looked very cozy and nice from the outside. All in all a 10/10 stay, I will be returning in the future!

The Metro is such a great local partner of ours and we love that our guests get to experience both of our offerings. I booked a room at the Hotel Zachary for a COVID friendly getaway weekend and it was more than I could have ever expected!

As a Marriott member I used my suite night credit and was unexpectedly upgraded to the Marquee Suite, which is probably the most fantastic hotel room I have ever stayed in. The view was absolutely amazing and the room was beautifully decorated. The HZ team even left a special welcome treat and note for us which made the stay feel so personal and special.

Everything was extremely clean throughout the entire hotel and we didn't see any other guests the duration of our stay. It was obvious that extra care had been taken to accommodate for COVID safety.

All of the staff members at the hotel were great, including Adam, who checked us in and out of our stay. The front desk team also provided a bunch of information on local restaurants where delivery drivers were specially COVID tested in order to deliver straight to your hotel room. I am local to the area and can confirm that all the recommended restaurants were great picks. I did not order from room service, but was shocked at the reasonable pricing when reading over the menu, especially considering most other hotels do not offer room service currently.

The bar is currently closed, but looked beautiful. I will definitely come back for a drink once it reopens because it is the perfect hidden spot to get a nice cocktail in the heart of Wrigley.

Another Marriott member perk was a free breakfast and coffee from Westtown Bakery which was the perfect ending to an exceptional stay.

Overall I had an amazing staycation at the Hotel Zachary and would definitely recommend anyone spend a night there to take a break from being stuck at home.

My first night at this hotel was great for my dog and me. I was happy there was finally a good hotel in Lakeview. Rooms and property are beautiful, staff is nice but young and inexperienced (read on).

However, the second night I asked the front desk attendant if he knew of any restaurants where I could take my dog, and he said that any of the restaurants along Clark Street could accommodate us. Well, about 2 hours later (after trying Clark and Halsted), we came back since not one place with a patio would allow us to dine there except if my pet was a service animal. Is there nothing worse than getting driving instructions from someone making it up? Just say you don't know! The guy then said that they were calling a place, but I left after a minute or two to order Chinese delivery.

Just now, I was taking a shower when all the lights in the hotel room went off. I came out of the shower, tripped over my dog's water bowl creating a mess, and had to make my way to the door where I re-engaged the power. The guy at the front desk apologized and said this sometimes occured when there isn't enough movement in the room. Really?

There is pot smell in the hallway now.

If you stay here, you might want to ask for an orientation for all the light switches in the room.

I will be cutting my stay here short.

Was excited to stay at this newer hotel right next to Wrigley Field and I finally got my chance. I got a room with a view of Wrigley and it was very cool. The room and hotel were very nice. I loved the Wrigley Field art throughout the hotel and in the room. The bathroom was large and very nice. The room wasn't cheap, so if you are looking for "value" you will have to judge if the value of location and view is worth the price or not. I can say cost aside, it will be one of the nicest hotels in the Wrigley area that you could stay at.

We checked into the hotel later in the evening on Easter. I had already received an upgrade to a Wrigley view from the booked standard view room. Being this was my brothers first time to Wrigley I was SO excited to just look out the window and see the field. Unfortunately, when I looked in the bathroom it was as if the housekeeper got distracted right as they were finishing the cleaning. There was half empty bottle of shampoo and water on the sink and the dirty towels were in a pile in the corner. I went to the front desk (we used the Marriott app for mobile check-in). When the presumed night manager realized what happened she was so apologetic. I was just hoping they could send someone to wipe everything down and replace the towels. She insisted this was not acceptable and they would move our room. I said how I was so happy with the upgrade they’d already given us and that I totally understand things happen. I explained how it really just seemed like they’d been distracted. She said “well, I’m moving you to a Junior Suite this time. You’ll have a little more space and I think you’ll like it!” She thanked me for my understanding and they got us new keys so we could get our stuff out of the first room. When we got to the room I was greeted by the most beautiful hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, complete with a balcony directly across from the Marquee. This was so above and beyond what I would have expected. They could have just placed us in a new room but this far exceeded expectations. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future! Our entire stay was perfect!

A 3 week stay and zero complaints! My husband and I kept having to extend our stay and everyone was very accommodating. Grace, the front desk manager, treated us like family and we started literally referring to the hotel at the end of our day as "let's go home!" Grace worked magic again and again to meet our every need. The rest of the front desk staff is also very helpful and welcoming.
There is even a well trained adorable little dog named Pita that greets guests. Our stay was the end of September into October and the lobby restaurant was closed but we could still enjoy relaxing there with an unobstructed view of Wrigley. Anthony at West End bakery on the street level made us excellent coffee (complementary) every morning and he is personable and efficient! The valet Tuisant is super helpful and friendly and looks great in his vintage converse low tops.
The hotel is very clean and we felt the proper health precautions were taken to keep guests and staff healthy. The beds are very comfortable and our room was large and attractively decorated in a low key baseball theme. Fantastic floor to ceiling windows offered an awesome view of Wrigley and Clark street was still bustling despite Covid. All the non hotel restaurants were open and offer outdoor heated seating.

Arrival check in was just before an afternoon Cubs game and the hotel was packed with guests but Anastasia took our bags and put them behind the desk until our room was ready. She saw in the notes that I wanted a view of the Cubs red marquee and gave me a high floor with that amazing view. Anastasia let me know that my Starbucks order was at the front desk and offered to reserve a taxi for my 5 am departure and included the confirmation number. Hotel Zachary was amazing as was all the staff but especially Anastasia for going that extra mile.

The hotel second floor lobby was light and spacious with enough seating for all guests.

In the hotel room the feather pillows are very fluffy and soft with 4 pillows per bed.

Otherwise the room lacked amenities I would consider standard for a hotel of this rating including a coffee maker, a drink refrigerator, no mirror above the work station, and no working light between the two queen beds. The lamp fixture in the room wasn’t functional.

We discovered the “clean” sheets had been cut by a previous hotel guest. This means the sheets we slept on the first night weren’t cleaned or changed from the previous guests and has to inform the front desk to get them changed.

The room electrical switches were tied to a master on off switch, and if you used the switch none of the wall plug or light fixtures would work including the TV. The functioning of the tv didn’t work for in room movie viewing only error messages. The TV was only configured for streaming services that you had to connect with your phone.
