What a great hotel and an awesome visit! Carrie and Eric, both front desk managers, were fantastic… professional and yet so welcoming - we were treated as VIPs from the moment we entered the front door.
As Diamond members we have questioned our loyalty to the Hilton brand due to lack of recognition and benefits at many properties.
The Wit exceeded our expectations in every way. The food, the view, the people, the room, the location… perfect.
We loved our stay and love this hotel. We will return.

What a great place! Even before getting to Chicago, I just so happened to be in a business meeting and mentioned that I was heading to Chicago and would stay at the theWita, he mentioned that he was from Chicago and that he and his family have stayed there and highly recommend it. We were given excellent service from Lydiya from the moment we got to the front desk until we left through the revolving door 4 days later. She was very pleasant and accommodating since we got in a little early after a flight from LA. Even on the last day, we asked for a late checkout and it was granted. As great as Lydiya is, the rest of the staff are also welcoming and very pleasant from the bell desk to the restaurant host and servers.
Having Hilton Diamond status got us a very nice upgrade and what a room! A direct view of Marina City! The exterior has a nice clean, yet very modern look. The interior decorations are clean and simple with nice touches of fresh flowers. The second-floor lounge lends itself to the name of the hotel, a great place to chill.
The restaurant has excellent food and nice fresh options, you don't really need to eat outside since there is a variety of options. The rooftop club seemed to have a lot of guests based on the amount of traffic trying to get into the hotel. Our room was a few floors directly below, and we enjoyed the vibes coming down. We got to eat there for the Saturday brunch, again with excellent food and drink options.
theWit is perfectly located with all the public transportation options just out the door as well as being in the middle of most of the wonderful Chicago attractions. The subway station is only 2 blocks away so it's an easy in and out to ORD. The Chicago River is a block away, the Magnificent Mile just past that, and in the other direction the Millennium and the other great Parks are all within walking distance. You really don't need a car by staying at theWit, just get a Venta card from at the airport and take the 45 minuet ride to theWit.
This was my 4th trip in about 20 years of going to Chicago, and I'm happy that I chose theWit based on its location and seeing some other reviews. I'll definitely stay there on my next trip to Chicago.
A big Thank You to Lydiya and the Staff of theWit!

We were greeted by the friendly bellman and check in was a breeze with Nick S. Through our whole visit he assisted us with where to go and waters every time we asked. We stayed in a two room suite with a kitchenette that was so helpful with having our two young children and us adults being on a more restricted diet. We had a place to keep and prepare our food when we didn't eat out. The mini fridge actually had pooped out and another one was quickly brought up to keep things cold. We loved theWit and would recommend to anyone staying in Chicago. Make sure to get with Nick S. for anything you need while there. He's your guy!

As a Diamond member, I chose TheWit Hotel for a relaxing stay in a spa suite to celebrate my birthday. After serving as caregiver to my late father, I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday with a healing & relaxing stay. It was cold that evening in Chicago and the experience during my birthday was disappointing due to being checked into a room with temperature controls that did not work at the time.
I had reservations, but I decided to give theWit another try. Upon entry, the staff greeted me with kind words and smiles. Carrie made me feel welcome during the check-in process. I checked into the room and was relieved to find the temperature controls fully functioning. The corner suite itself was clean with floor to ceiling windows presenting gorgeous views of the loop. The well-lit bathroom had a separate tub and shower, as well as a window for taking in the city during a relaxing bath. I appreciated the modern fixtures and furnishings and the bed was comfortable. I also took a few meetings from the room, so the WiFi was adequate. As far as location, the hotel is central to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Overall, I enjoyed my stay as it was peaceful and I will return. If you’re looking for a Hilton experience in Chicago, I recommend trying theWit.

Reservation was made through the front desk in November 2022 for June 2 and 3rd 2023. On the 2nd , check in was done per the app and received room assignment and virtual key at 1030 am. At 5:30 pm we arrived at the hotel and stopped at the front desk to obtain an actual key. We were informed our room had been given away. They stated they had overbooked and had a room for us at the Holiday Inn. They called us a cab ( but refused to pay for it) and said this was common practice for them. They downgraded us from a 4 star hotel to a 3 star and refused to compensate us. We contacted their customer service 3 times and were given a case number. They never returned our calls or responded to the “case. “. Spoke to the Manager at the Wit and sent him proof of our reservation. He stated he would get back to us within 3 days. He never returned our calls. The reservation was very expensive and the treatment we have received was atrocious. Obviously Hilton no longer cares to maintain a good reputation.

Stayed two nights at the end of June for business team building.
Location: it’s a short walk from the airport transit system. This comes handy to avoid traffic jams from road constructions to from airport. Nice and clean and for $5 a ride. I was happy with my first train ride experience in Chicago. It will be my preferred ride from now on. It’s also a short walk to the hustling Chicago businesses.
Restaurants: we had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant, buffet style. The open spacious dining areas offered great opportunity to mingle and get to know coworkers I haven’t met in person before. Food is very fresh.
Conference rooms: the dividers make it so easy to host planetary and breakout sessions. Great multiple large screens to easily host hundreds of people.
Rooms: They offer both hotel room and studio. Hilton diamond members can request complimentary upgrades to spacious studios. River views are great 👍
Amenities; the Keurig coffee maker comes handy for coffee ☕️ or hot tea.
Overall, I am happy with my business stay and conference experiences.

Last Weekend was my first time in Chicago and we thought this place was a good place to stay, everything was okay, gray location until we checked out and forgot to take our cash out the lock box. I called to see if there was anything they could do to help me get my money back they said there was nothing in it and trying to say that housekeeping don’t have access to does boxes when we didn’t even put a code in the box so anybody could’ve opened it. They called me back and say they checked the cameras and the only ones that went in there after we checked out was the cleaning lady and security so they pretty much try to say I was lying when I knew I put my money in there. It was only 120 dollars so I didn’t argue anymore because I knew I was not going to get them back.

This was the first time I've stayed at the Wit since it ditched the Doubletree association and was renovated. My friend and I wanted to be close to the downtown Christkindlemarket which is only a few blocks away. I miss the darker, sexier vibe that the Wit had before the renovations. The hallways and rooms are much brighter now, and the lamps, and décor don't really flow together. All staff we encountered were great and we enjoyed being downstairs from Roof, which is still a modern and fun late night spot. The food & bev credit for HHonors is better than at most Hiltons - $36 per day. Plenty of plusses at the Wit, definitely give it a try when visiting the Loop area of Chicago.

The hotel was beautiful rooms was very spacious we had a room up on the 14th floor that had an absolutely beautiful view. We arrived on a Sunday and there was a private party going on called Sunday funday up on the rooftop. It was super crowded, a lot of people in the lobby area and then towards the end of the party people hanging out in front of the hotel in the lobby and outside. They had there cars parked out front blasting music and arguing with each other. This situation caused our Lyft driver to park on the side of the hotel, we had to walk a distance to get to the driver. I don't think paying customers should be inconvenienced by patrons of a private event they're having at the hotel. Staff was very pleasant and helpful with information. Reem checked is in and noticed my birthday was the next day and sent up a slice of chocolate cake and a card. Another staff member showed us how to catch the subway to Chinatown and the airport. Overall a great experience.

Good Day, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We're delighted that you found our hotel beautiful and enjoyed the spacious room with its stunning view from the 14th floor. It’s also wonderful to hear that our staff, especially Reem, made your stay special by celebrating your birthday with a thoughtful gesture. However, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced due to the private event on the rooftop. I understand how frustrating it must have been to navigate the crowded lobby and deal with the noise outside, especially when it affected your Lyft pickup. Your comfort and convenience are very important to us, and I’m sorry this situation detracted from what should have been a seamless experience. We appreciate your kind words about our staff’s helpfulness and the overall positive experience you had during your stay. We will certainly take your feedback to heart and work to ensure that future events do not impact the comfort of our guests. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to welcome you back for an even better experience in the future. Jason Mudgett Director of Operations

Prior to my stay, I wrote to the hotel GM as I was concerned about street and train noise. My concerns were well noted and I was put up at an appropriate corner unit of the building. To my pleasant surprise, this was an upgrade! The king spa room came with a separate living and dining space. The tub was a godsent to counteract the chilly weather. Amenities were always available upon request, not something I encounter with most hotels in USA. The best part? Service with a smile, any time of the day, from front desk to housekeeping. Housekeeping was immaculate in understanding my needs and just got better each day. To me, this high level of hospitality simply reflects the capability of the leadership team. I am definitely coming back again!
