Do not let the mixed reviews discourage you from staying here. The hotel is older and may be dated to some guests but it is clean and has been sufficiently maintained. It is within walking distance to Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds/Anderson Music Hall. I would definitely recommend Lake Chatuge Lodge.

If you were born in the backseat of greyhound bus, this place would be the Taj Mahal to ya…p.s. careful with them towels, they are radioactive since I left them stripes on them. Befitting of the place n all. The shower mold might be a good yeast bread starter.

Response from , General Manager at Lake Chatuge Lodge
Responded 15 Dec 2022
We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We are confused about the towels as ours are solid with no stripes. The staff will be notified to check these issues but we have not had any complaints from other guests.

A simple review… beyond the realm of renovation, it needs a bulldozer. Worse than the reminiscence 1970’s cabins your parents rented…with dog fleas and fermented semen. If only the head board in the next room had went off like a jack hammer.

We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was nice, the rooms were good and clean, the lobby was wonderful and the view of the lake was great. Breakfast left a little to be desired, but overall we really enjoyed our two nights at the Lake Chatuge Lodge.

Got a last minute chance to go see 38 Special next door at the Georgia mountan fairgrounds and called to see if they had a last minute space........WINNER!!! so got to stay at one of my favorite places with nice cozy accomdiations, outside lake views and the great fireplace in the central room. Can walk to the concert and back and enjoy the great guests who are there also. Leaf peeping season was still on and the rooms and pillows are as comfortable as ever..... Never need an excuse to come stay here........Aways a great idea and fun!!! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREAT SERVICE!!!

Stayed in room 215. Very foul odor in room that was even in the pillows and sheets. Sheets were old and slightly discolored. Room was throw back to the 50-60’s. Caulk at tub old and dirty. Curtains old and cruppled. Poorly maintained. Due to coldness outside, we turned on the wall heater. It blew out dust, and gave off a bad foul smelling odor that caused the ceiling smoke detector to alarm at 12 midnight and made us cough and sneeze. We tried opening the balcony door but it was too cold to leave it open so we turned off the heater and closed the door and dealt with the smells for the night! This hotel is very overpriced for the condition of the old rooms. We were told that we could not have adjoining rooms with our relatives. The night manager was not helpful and blamed the hotel policy for not accommodating us. Our sheets were stained as well. Photos don’t lie.

We had a lovely room at the end of the second floor. We were away from the elevator and soda machine and noise coming up from the first level common area. I loved the balcony outside. The shower had lovely 3 settings with a pulsating massaging flow. The toilet had a low seat and a high water level which was very uncomfortable for him. The king-sized bed was very soft and comfy and we slept great. This hotel is next door to the concert venue called Anderson Music Hall at the GA Mtn Fairgrounds. It is near a couple of restaurants so you have more than 1 choice of where to eat. The Breakfast was ok with hot and cold choices. I tried the egg and cheese in the hot server and the French Toast sticks. He had the fresh fruit and granola bars.

This was our second stay at the Lake Chatuge Lodge. This is such a beautiful location and the views are amazing. It is so convenient to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds...you can easily walk...never have to move your car. We stayed in a king room facing the lake with a balcony on the 2nd floor. The view was breath taking. The hotel is old and could use a little bit of an upgrade but it was very clean, bed was comfortable, water pressure was great, the breakfast was good, pastries, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, coffee, juice, milk. Hotel is very quiet and peaceful. The lobby with the stone fireplace is beautiful And the staff were very professional and very friendly. I didn't get his name but the man who checked us in was nice and Sherry who checked us out was super friendly....a really positive person. And I am especially thankful to housekeeping for finding my glasses I left behind and for Katie for being so nice and mailing them to me. We will definitely be back.

We made this trip on the spur of a moment. Rooms were limited when we booked, and I mistakenly booked a room with a full size bed. It was very comfortable, except that we are used to sleeping on a queen size bed. We ended up not staying the second night. The bathroom was built to be handicap accessible - very nice. Looked new. Our main complaint was that we never saw the restaurant because every time we asked, it was closed. The Tavern was open, but not the restaurant. So, we ate our meals in Helen. Our main reason for going to Helen was to visit Anna Ruby Falls and the entrance to the falls is only a couple of miles from the lodge.
