Our rooms were clean and beautiful we had a great view of the river. The staff were kind and very helpful. All in all with myself being handicapped the rooms were very handicapped accessible with plenty of room to move around without being a handicapped room.
My sister and I just returned from a grandparents trip with her grandson (age 12) and my granddaughter (age 9) and we decided to stay at the Hampton, primarily due to its strong brand and emphasis on quality. Even though the hotel was an older building, it was well maintained, clean and had plenty of parking. The free breakfast buffet was good and they had the best coffee! The hotel is conveniently located a street back from Main Street, but within a short walking distance to the village grocery and downtown area. It is also in the Chattahoochee River so be sure to request a river view room. We had adjoining rooms which were great for us. The bathrooms were bigger than expected and rooms were a nice size too. Beds were also comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
The hotel is located a block off of the main street where the restaurants are. Rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is located also on the river which gives a nice view. Room was pricey for the Saturday night we stayed when compared to the other nights.
We had a positive experience at this property. I had an issue with Expedia but the general manager, Susan , and another staff member, Adrienne, were fantastic and went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me in dealing with Expedia regarding my booking. Helen, Georgia is an excellent family location for entry into the smoky mountains and the surrounding sites. We stayed here prior to venturing out on the Appalachian Trail for a few days. This property is right on a small creek that runs through Helen. Centrally located. Lots of shops and dining around.
Not a bad hotel, just needs a little updating. It's pretty basic, with no extra bells and whistles, regarding the rooms. Just a place to lay your head, pretty much. The swings and seating along the river make up for the basic rooms, in my opinion. Reasonably clean. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Just a short walk to all of the shops. I'd definitely recommend springing for a room with a balcony!!
This is a very nice hotel with clean rooms, great location, nice view from the balcony and a wonderful breakfast. The beds were clean and everyone was very polite and helpful at check in. We would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Clean. Friendly staff. Off of the main drag, but close enough. Back fireplace on the river was nice. You must go to Betty's store. Absolutely love that place. Didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were there.
Room 134, one of their premier King suites with a whirlpool tub has mold on the walls posing a health hazard and the hotel staff did nothing to address the concern after we brought it to their attention. We booked nearly a month in advance and their response was “We don’t have any other rooms available” and there was no follow up, I sent a follow up request through Hilton.com and all they did was forward it to the hotel which again went with no response. This place just isn’t up to Hilton standards, save yourself some frustration and stay at another property.
The hotel is located in a beautiful spot along the river. We had a river-view room that gave us an excellent view. We sat in a swing along the river for quite a while. It was so relaxing. The room was clean and the bed s were very comfortable. The hotel could use and update.
I am sorry to say this about Hampton Inn, because I love the chain, but something in this hotel makes me physically sick. I have been to this one twice and both times I had severe allergic reaction to something. It happened the first time around 2010 me and my ex-husband stayed in this hotel during the fall. I was in bed sick with what seemed like the flu for 4 days and don't even remember the 6 hour ride home. This time I went with my best friend last week and I was sick the whole 2 days we were in Helen, would have stayed longer but my friend was afraid I would end up in the hospital. An hour after we left the hotel, I was feeling much better and had even gotten my voice back. I am really sad about this because Hampton Inn is my go-to hotel. It has happened to me before at 2 other hotels in 2 totally different states. I think it may possibly be cleaning products that are being used because I normally don't have allergies. The room was clean, the breakfast was great and the front desk was helpful. I am totally happy with my stay other than being too sick to enjoy it.…
