We stayed at this Hotel while in Dahlonega Georgia visiting our granddaughter that is a student at UNG. The hotel was extremely clean and check in and out was very easy. The hotel is just one block off the square and everything including shopping and restaurants are within a 2 minute walk. I have travelled the world but I must say this is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. It is charming! When you are in North Georgia I would highly recommend staying at Dahlonega Square Hotel. You won't regret it.

It's 2023 and the way people conduct business has changed. We are a nanosecond away from all retail stores disappearing and Amazon taking over the world. Customer service will be something our kids read about in history books. Yet contrary to all that a beacon of hope shines through at the Dahlonega Square hotel. The place is clean and updated, the owners/staff are friendly and helpful and the combo sitting room wine tasting is not only convenient but welcoming. The location is smack dab in the middle of the square, with onsite parking and the price is very reasonable. These owners "get it" they know how to do business and exceed expectations.

Bill, thank you so much for this review! We have printed it and it will sit in our office for our staff to read on the good days to remind us that we are doing something right and on the bad days when we remember that we can't be everyone's cup of tea. We thank you for your compliments and are so happy that we hit the mark for you. As a family-run and managed business, we truly try our best to make each guest feel the way you described. We hope you will come and visit us again soon!

Kudos to the Dahlonega Square Hotel. The staff is attentive and responsive, sweet and friendly. Thank you, Alex and Lily. Our double queen room was remodeled, clean and very spacious. Enjoying a glass of Kaya wine was an added treat. We will definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to our friends.

Thank you so very much for this lovely review. We adore our staff and we are so happy that you enjoyed your interactions with them as well. As a fun fact, our hotel rooms were actually constructed in 2013 (and this December marks our 10-year guest anniversary!) Our McGuire Suite is our only historic room on the property, as it sits above our lobby and that building was constructed in 1880. We are in the early stages of adding (because it has been 10 years and we think it's time!) some wonderful new things to our rooms in the upcoming year. We hope you will come back and see our upgrades and we look forward to visiting with you again! Happy travels!

We were in the area for a family wedding and had a great time in Dahlonega. We enjoyed our stay here in this cute boutique hotel! Check in was easy and they have great wine tasting on site. Our room was huge with a king bed that was super comfy. We met the owner on game day Saturday and she was even dressed up for college football day. The employees were super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for helping us make great memories in Georgia with our family :)

We enjoyed a very quiet two nights at the hotel. Other than the hostess who greeted us when we checked in, we neither saw or heard another soul! The queen room ( 301) was spacious and had a small fridge, which we needed. I’m sure the owners are aware of a shower/ water situation though in the bathroom. It’s apparent that shower spray is not contained and manages to get on the bath floor. Even the door to the bathroom has not fared well. Just poor design. Also, the toilet is not secured to the floor very well. These things did not effect our stay, so would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at The Dahlonega Square Hotel could not have been better. Our room was sharp and clean and was update with everything we needed. The staff member welcomed us and could not have been more pleasant and helpful, but yet did not hover around. Great staff member. The hotel is a very warm hotel with the entrance and wine room is set up to great their guests. The hotel is perfectly located a block and half from the Dahlonega Square to walk to and enjoy the restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the late evening on the 16th on the front porch enjoying several glasses of wine. Great place and we will certainly be back. Christmas lights in Dahlonega are a special we understand, so here we come. Enjoy your visit.

WARNING ! Bait and switch. They might switch you to their “VILLAS” duplex apartments which are NOT the same. Our room was in the basement and had a huge grey electrical panel in it. They need to separate these DUPLEX apartments from the HOTEL website. It is very misleading.

This guest has left this same review on every platform. He booked through a third party site. He picked the room on the third party site that he booked. If he had called us or booked through our website (which states very clearly that the hotel and villas are indeed different properties) he would have realized that these are separate properties, although all of our properties are within the historic district. We would never bait and switch a guest and suggest that this particular guest contacts the hotel directly to ensure he gets his preferred accommodation in the future.

The location of this hotel was perfect. It was within walking distance of everything (food, shopping, etc..). When we first arrived we noticed a decent sized public parking area right in front of the hotel and a parking area specifically for those staying at the hotel located beside it (it's small but we never had an issue with parking there). We were greeted fairly quickly upon walking into the lobby and the guy (unfortunately I can't remember his name) that greeted us was very kind and informative. I will say (and I'm not sure if it's due to the building being older or what) there was a very odd/bad smell in the lobby area (but it was only in the lobby area so not a huge deal). The hotel was clean and had everything we needed as far as amenities go. Sound does carry more through the walls, but most of those around us seemed to be courteous with noise levels and the hotel has a sign posted about that in the elevator so you're aware. The elevator inspection was expired (about 2 months expired) so they should definitely get that situated as soon as possible for the safety of the guests. Overall I do highly recommend staying here, as it's a beautiful building, had friendly staff, and is a perfect location for staying in Dahlonega.

Thank you for staying with us! We are delighted that our hotel helped make your trip to Dahlonega special. Our lobby was renovated from the original 1880 home that our hotel is based upon. The floors, among other things in our lobby, are over 140 years old, which may be the antiquey type smell you are referring to.. There is also no need to worry regarding the elevator. We put in an inspection request at the beginning of every year, but the state does sometimes fall behind as they have to inspect every elevator in the state. We also contract a private elevator company to maintain, inspect, and repair it as our guests' safety is our number one priority! Thanks again for staying with us and for your kind words! We hope to see you again

My wife and I have stayed here before and recently came back for a weekend of wine tasting and relaxing in Dahlonega and had another great experience. The hotel is small and quaint and the staff is friendly and helpful. It’s not a chain which we like and the location is perfect right near the town square and walking to everything downtown. The rooms are rather spartan but I like the technology (door codes no keys, Hulu and Netflix TV) as well as a coffee pot and fridge in the room. There is a local breakfast place that will deliver to your room in the morning for cash or Venmo (food was good but was fairly cold). In the lobby they also offer wine tastings from Kaya vineyards as well as glass and bottle service. We really liked having wine on the porch out front. Additional if you are part of the DSH wine tour (highly recommend it) they pick up right in front of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!
