Nestled close to the beach and local shops, Costa d'Este Beach Resort & Spa is often lauded for its pristine ocean views and sophisticated charm. Although some guests have pointed out maintenance issues and discrepancies in room views, the overall cleanliness and stylish amenities contribute to the hotel's allure.
While the value proposition receives mixed reviews, many guests feel the attentive service and comprehensive amenities, including a praised pool, spa, and the convenience of beach chairs and umbrellas, justify the expense.

We have been coming to Costa D'Este for years to relax on the beach. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was perfect. The staff, from the valet at the front door to the housekeeping staff, the front desk people, the wait staff and the staff at the pool and beach, are all so friendly, courteous and welcoming. Love being able to lie on the beach and watch the waves, and cool off in the pool. The location is great! There are several nice places to go for dinner within walking distance and the shops across the street are great! We love shopping at the Beached Whale and having our daily coffee and ice cream fix at Cravings. We have never been disappointed here and we've come many many times. It is great for a "staycation" or for people who come from far away.

This was our second visit to Costa d'Este. We arrived on a Friday early evening and decided to upgrade last minute to an oceanfront suite. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and polite and did give us a break on the room rate. The room was on the 3rd floor south building end unit. These suites are basically the size of 2 rooms with one side converted to a nice little living area with furniture and another bathroom. Everything about the room was tired and worn. Not to the point of replacement but it's getting there. Things on the surface were mostly clean to the eye and touch but once again time has taken its toll. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable although our sheets needed to be replaced due to blood stains which were not ours. The front desk had the room recleaned and linens changed promptly and removed one night of resort fee. Shower worked properly with plenty of hot water and more than adequate pressure. The marble and glass doors could definitely use a good cleaning. Our AC was excellent and I like it extremely cold. Everything in the room functioned properly including the coffee machine. The balcony was narrow and long with 4 plastic chairs and 2 small tables with a nice view of the beach and ocean. It too needs some TLC. The pool area and beach were very clean and all of the staff were extremely pleasant. We love the location and fact this is more of a small boutique feel in a relaxed atmosphere. We tend to stay at adult only properties, but I must say even the children around the main pool were quiet and courteous having a great time. All in all we had a wonderful time but so wish that a remodel was in the plans as this truly could be a 5 star resort close to home.

Costa d'Este is a lovely hotel. The location in perfect, the pool and beach are dreamy, the staff is friendly and hospitable. I wish I could give a 5 star review, but a few issues prohibit me from doing so. First, my room was located on the third floor of the south tower. This in itself is not a problem unless you opted for a pool view and are toward the back of the hotel. The third floor is equal height to the palm trees, which completely block the otherwise lovely view. If I had known about this issue I would have requested I higher floor. Second, my room was directly opposite the elevator. This is the worst place for a room as there is constant noise from guests (can't be helped) and staff. Housekeeping woke me up several mornings from talking (can be helped) even though I had the do not disturb sign handing from the door. I asked to be moved, but unfortunately nothing was available. If you visit this lovely hotel, make sure to request a high floor away from the elevator or splurge for an oceanfront room, which is what I wish I did. Third, even though they give guests wristbands to wear to identify guests, there were many people at the resort who used the facilities that were not guests. I was still able to get a pool or beach chair when and where I wanted nor was the service impacted, but from a security stand point it made me a bit uncomfortable to see that anyone could gain access to its facilities. This is a lovely hotel, beautiful grounds, hospitable staff. If housekeeping gets more attention and you make sure you pick your room, and you don't mind sharing the facilities with nonguests, you will have a wonderful time!

Cutting to the chase, this is not a “4 star resort,” that the website claims to be.
Pro’s The location is great, it’s right on the beach and walking distance to restaurants. View from balcony: if you get an Ocean view room, it is a great spot to hang out. If you’re in the interior, the rooms looked cramped and loud from the noisy hotel A/C units.
Con’s We had a suite, probably the nicest room and it was dirty at check-in, visible grit on the floors, smudges on all glass, and dust bunnies on the TV cord, and elsewhere
Check in is a disaster. No one popped out to help with our bags. The lobby was crowded, disorganized, and you have to weave through a drunken bar crowd to enter the hotel (more on that later)
Check out is a disaster. Front desk/bell man didn’t answer. I went down and the front desk lady had her head in the desk. Picked it up and actually said after hearing my room number “oh sorry, I saw you were calling, there was just too much going on” She then went on to point at luggage cart. So it was so it yourself! No bell man in sight…
Training: staff are simply not adequately trained and it shows. Cleaning staff and beach staff copped attitudes with me. For example, I asked for 6 towels and the beach attendant said to me “oh, I grabbed 4, good enough, haha.” For the price you pay to stay here, no, not good enough and not funny.
The pool: it is a disaster zone. People coming off the beach with dogs, a not so elegant drunk zone, coolers rolling next to the pool. Oh yeah, and you won’t get a spot. Towels and crap will be placed on all seating by 10am. No one from the staff checked who was coming in, if they were staying, they didn’t promptly clean up leftover towels or check if people left.
I think Vero Beach is very nice. This is NOT the place to stay… I cut 3 nights off my reservation and we went back to Disney before heading home…

Wonderful experience all around! I called several times before I booked because I just had a lot of questions since I have a 20 month old son. A real person answered the phone every time and was always helpful. I booked two days before coming in so I wasn’t able to get a connecting room which was fine, we were lucky enough to get two rooms near each other on the 4th floor. My sister also came with my 12-year-old niece. Upon arrival, the Bellmen were immediately ready to help, you have the option of using them and valeting or self Parking. It’s all included, but of course I always tip in cash. We stayed two nights and ate every meal at the resort. Every single meal, whether in the restaurant, beach, or pool, was delicious. Awesome wait staff all very polite and efficient. The beach and pool staff work really hard to make everyone comfortable and keep the towels and chairs perfect. I think they even rake the seaweed because there wasn’t any! Please take advantage of the free kayaks! It was so fun to go with my niece to the shipwreck. I was afraid initially so I asked Nick, a Beach staffer if he could please come with us. Although nobody will imply or ask for anything ever, just bring cash because it’s really worth tipping especially if you’re going to ask for extras like a kayak companion. We will definitely come back maybe for spring break and stay longer. My son loved playing on the beach and the pool. Room was beautiful, bed was comfortable. It’s a smaller hotel so everything feels more personal and hospitable.

We had the best week at Costa D'Este! We travel a lot and tend to be pretty relaxed but were happy that Costa exceeded our expectations! We have been to Vero Beach before and stayed at another high-end hotel. We far preferred our experience this year at Costa! The pool and cabana bar were lively, the beach and beach cabana options were perfect. Lots of shade options at both the pool and beach to help offset the hot sun if you need it. The rooms were well appointed and had plenty of storage for 3 of us (2 of whom brought far too many clothes). Great shower- you could turn on both shower heads without decreasing the water flow from either one, so the water pressure was awesome. Pillows were comfortable. Room temperature was easy to control and comfortable.
The best part about Costa D'Este is the staff. While everyone was wonderful- Anne, Geneva and Jojo were stood out as shining stars who took great care of every guest they came into contact with.
Lots of great restaurants within walking distance if you chose to eat elsewhere, and so many cute shops. I will be back for sure for a girls' weekend and hope to do another family vacation there as well.

My sister and I finally left husbands and children at home and escaped for a two night resort holiday. Costa d Este was the right choice! We were greeted with warmth and a champagne toast. Our room was well appointed with two queen beds, lots of storage, luxury robes, sublime toiletry products and a private outdoor patio with table and chairs. We enjoyed the pool our first evening and had a happy hour Paloma from the poolside lounge. Very reasonable! Next day we headed to the beach for a morning walk and then arranged lounge chairs and an umbrella - included in the resort fee. After a few hours of R&R we headed back to the pool lounge to share a breakfast sandwich. It was delicious! Midday found us in the C spa for a visit to the salt room followed by signature aromatherapy massages. We purchased the face mask enhancement for only $29 and came out glowing and completely relaxed. More time on the beach and poolside with margaritas delivered on the beach. Check out this morning was smooth with no surprises on our charges. Staff was courteous and responsive throughout our stay. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful resort directly on the beach. All staff we interacted with were pleasant. Amenities included such as beach chairs were great.
We had a modern king room with a balcony beach view. The room was standard. We did see many cobwebs on the balcony, the balcony light did not work which was disappointing consider this is a high end resort and the purpose of upgrading our room was to enjoy the beach view balcony. The room was missing a do not disturb sign and when we called front desk, we were told to come down to get it. Same when we called for a wine opener. Fine - just again surprising for this resort to have the guest go to front desk to grab these items.
We enjoyed the spa - Samantha and Jen were our massage therapists and they were great! Highly recommend both! Much needed spa treatment after a wedding weekend. They were both attentive to needs in asking about troubled areas and they delivered to those areas with extra care. The negative of the spa is it’s two levels so you must use the stairs and be outside to switch levels where you can see poolside guests. The spa staff found out we just got married and they offered us a glass each of champagne which we thought was a nice gesture. Upon checking out at the spa, we noticed the champagne was added to our bill.
Additionally, we had breakfast on the pool deck that morning and when choosing the fruit cup as a side, we asked about the fruit inclusions and requested all berries if possible. Server said yes of course. Then when we received the bill, there was an additional charge added for berries only. It’s unfortunate the surprise charges happened on multiple occasions. We are reasonable patrons and simply would have appreciated the staff being forthcoming about these items being an additional charge and allow it to be our choice rather than caught by surprise. Sharing for future hotel guests to be aware of any additional charges.
We laid by the pool during our stay for about an hour and was not once asked if we wanted a menu or any food/beverage. Again, that’s fine. We can find the bar but we did fine it surprising for this resort.

Stayed here over spring break. Beautiful curb appeal upon driving onto the property. A smaller resort so it did feel intimate, not crowded and especially on the beach, which we really appreciated. The staff was friendly, always said hello or good morning, etc. Checkin / checkout was efficient and pleasurable - again staff, valet, front desk very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of quality restaurant options within walking distance of the hotel and with ocean views. If you have a car you are 10 mins away from additionl restaurants and 15 mins from downtown Vero Beach for Publix, Starbucks, etc. Why we rated our experience average is that though we had these positive experiences we did encounter issues. A stained duvet on one of our beds and a light not working when we checked in. They did change out the duvet but due to a breakdown in communications between departments, which we experienced several times during our stay it took a day and us following up directly with the housekeeper on our floor to resolve this. Maintenance never did fix our light issue. The biggest issue had to do with people in the unit below us smoking cigars and cigarettes on their balcony and that smoke reaching our balcony which I'm allergic to. There is a no smoking policy in the rooms and on the balcony. I reported the issue to the gentleman working at front desk. He said the hotel takes it seriously and would contact the people in that unit. The next day, the people were still doing it. Again I reported it to the same gentleman at the front desk. He said that the day before he had not been able to get in contact with the individuals and had not followed up yet. That was disappointing to me. His lack of follow up action did not square with his earlier statement about seriousness of the policy. He said he would contact his manager and they would get in touch with the individuals. Good thing is that the smoking stopped, looked liked the people checked out the next day. The hotel never did follow up with us to put closure to the issue. Finally, if you stay here, make sure you get a printout of your bill and review it before you leave. The finance/accounting background in me always triggers me to review. They missed a $25 per day credit ($150 total) that was to be applied. Front desk didn't catch it. I did. In the end the did correct it. It was about $620 per night. For the intimate setting I would say it's good value, however, because of these issues (maybe it was an anomaly) we just did not have a "wow they went above and beyond" feeling when we left.

The hotel was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay here. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the service was mostly very good. The beach was smaller but still really nice and the pool area was great. Water was heated to a lovely temperature. We had a room with a nice view of the water but not exactly beach front - kind of like on the side of the hotel but it was a very good view. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony to watch the waves. There was a small table with two chair in the room which made it easy for me when I had to spend a couple of hours working one night. On the weekend there were wait staff on the beach to bring us drinks and/or food. We did eat at the pool bar and my burger was delicious. The app made checking out super easy and we could have left housekeeping a tip right on the app but chose to leave it in cash. There were plenty of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance from the hotel. We found a couple of different ice cream places right across the street. The hotel next door had live music on Sunday afternoon which you could hear on the beach. It was a really good band and we enjoyed sitting on our very comfortable beach chairs and listening.
Two small issues impacted our stay but neither was huge. Once we ran out of toilet paper and it took them several hours to bring us a new roll. The roll was clearly empty before house keeping came so it should have been replaced at that time but wasn't. Once they did bring new toilet paper they brought an extra roll so we had plenty and were very apologetic that they didn't bring it sooner.
The second issue was some kind of disturbance in the room next to us very early on the first morning (like 4 am). The couple in the room were clearly drunk and fighting and screaming at each other. Security was called and pounded on the door for several minutes. It was loud and caused quite a disturbance. Not the hotels fault and their security team did address the problem. But it would have been a nice gesture to offer us a free drink or something to apologize for the disturbance that went on for at least an hour if not more during what should have been a time when we were enjoying a rare morning to sleep in.

Poolside rooms have reasonably good ocean views. During the day the pool area activities were not noisy, however, when we stayed there they had live music a couple of the nights and that did get loud but ended before 11pm.
There are more places to choose from in the Vero Beach area.
