Due to COVID insanity, we wanted to take a safer trip to the FL Keys during spring break. I came across the Mangrove Marina houseboats while researching accommodations & immediately realized this was an excellent alternative, even without COVID. I grew up sailing, so I’m well-versed in what living aboard a boat entails. My family isn’t quite as experienced in cruising but were up for the adventure. Staying aboard a boat with manatees swimming right up next to the boat and chilling on the back deck during sunset was far better than any hotel/condo could offer. These aren’t super luxurious boats or marina facilities, but they are more than sufficient for travelers looking for a unique experience. The boat was clean & the beds were comfortable. As many others have noted, Mike is a great marina host. The onsite restaurant was being renovated and looks like it will be awesome post-COVID. We would definitely come back!

This was a great place to get away and avoid the crowds. Boat was clean and kitchen was sufficiently stocked, beds were comfortable and sheets and linens were provided. We had a few issues with the boat but the staff was prompt and courteous in responding. Loved watching the Manatees off the deck while enjoying the sunset.

Stayed in the Calypso houseboat and had a great time. The boat had everything we needed and was clean and the A/C worked well. The pool and Tiki bar are nice amenities. .Lots of fish and wildlife in the area. Don't go walking around dock to the north. There's a miserable old guy who thinks he owns the marina. Get over yourself. Clean restrooms and great location..

We stayed in the Seahorse for 7 days and was one of the best vacations we have had in a long time. The boat itself was extremely comfortable and clean, views from the back deck were breathtaking, pool was warm and welcoming. The staff was very accommodating and couldn’t have asked for a better time. This is my new Happy Place.

We wanted something different to stay in and got it!! We stayed in the Yellowtail, it is spacious and comes with a main bedroom queen, a loft with 2 twin beds, and the sofa makes into a queen. The kitchen does have what you need for simple meals and does have simple kitchenware. The rear deck overlooks the marina, has a light for underwater seeing at night which a lot of fish congregate and are really fun to watch. This is a houseboat so it does move with the waves and during our stay we had a cold front that had 20+ mph winds which made it move some and created some noise that but nothing too bad and added to the uniqueness. We are very much on being able to relax and got it, however we did not have guests next door as the rear porches are open to the adjacent and are very close. Overall this is a great place, the staff is nice and really there to make sure your stay is comfortable.
