After reading all the excellent reviews, I decided to spend a night at the Park Avenue Inn. I ended up being SO disappointed. The bathroom was not in my room, and the innkeepers were not on-site. On the web page, it says Innkeeper available 24/7 and private bathroom IN each unit. When I arrived, the front door was locked. After a few minutes, a woman appeared, she handed me an envelope with the keys, said she had to leave to go to work, pointed out the three designated parking spots on the street, told me my room was upstairs and left. I soon realized I was alone in the house. I had booked the May room, and I was shocked to discover the bathroom was across the hall. I did not bring a robe, and one was not provided. I called the phone number on the front door, and Kate answered, she offered to let me move to a different room, but first, I needed to look at the other rooms to see if they were clean. Unfortunately, all were dirty, so I was unable to switch. The other guests arrived, wondering where to park, questions, etc., I let them in, pointed out the street parking, handed them the keys from the mailbox, and indicated where their room was. They were quite surprised to find out I was not the Innkeeper, but another guest. All that transpired was uncomfortable and upsetting. Also, there is a surcharge of 2-3% when using your credit card.
