Stayed overnight on our way home in Ocala from Miami airport. Staff very friendly and courteous especially Rose who checked us in. Went out of her way to welcome us. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet and everything worked the way it should. Highly recommend this hotel. Diamond Elite member.

A very disappointing experience. Checked in at 1 a.m., and was greeted by the representative but not recognized a Gold Member(Not a big deal). Was told breakfast was at 7 am, went down for breakfast at 7 am but lights were still off (Not a big deal) as I only wanted a coffee. Walked around the lobby and saw representative was sleeping at the front desk with eyes closed and then someone came to turn lights on. Found the coffee in the front lobby and poured myself a coffee but it was cold. Advised the kitchen attendant that coffee was cold so they offered to heat it up for me in the microwave. I said I would like a fresh coffee and she just shook her head and the attendant in the front woke up and said the same, Luckily there was a Dunkin Donut right there. I WILL never go back here again. Asked to speak to the manager and they said she will be there in an hour. As I was leaving right away asked them to give her a message to call me when she gets in, In the afternoon I had to call the hotel again, as she didn't return my call and when she answered she said she was too busy(Probably taking care of all the other issues the hotel might have) She offered me 3000 points because of the issue but that was not acceptable to me as I expect to have a proper experience in an IHG hotel and expect the hotel to take responsibility for their hotel. The manager could have paid for my breakfast at Dunkin Donuts (2 Large coffees) as a minimum but she didn't think this was anything unusual for the hotel.

Let me preface, I've worked the majority of my 73 years, in EVERY task within the restaurant and hotel trade, from dishwasher (@ 14) to Franchise Inspector for a big hotel chain = this Express is below their (IHG) standards. Here's my 4 night stay REVIEW. -- MAINTENANCE, Community areas -- Before even getting onto the Express property, signage on both building and street level were malfunctioning and not to standards. During my stay, the 3rd hallway never had any A/C (in Florida) and the hallway carpeting was NEVER vacuumed. More than 36 hours for the elevator floor to be mopped of coffee spills. NO Community coffee (desk clerk area) after 17:00 (5:00 pm) . GUEST ROOM -- My 1st room had a flood, from the poor maintained A/C** unit. Two days later, the management had their ?deskclerk? w/ a shop vac, to do the carpeting in the flooded room (2 days later = what?). My second replacement room was never vacuumed, dusted or the sheets changed. The only thing that was done, was towel replacement, bathroom wipe down, more coffee K-Cups and wastebasket renewed. -- BREAKFAST was always 'blah' leftovers from the day before, plus some new added. For dry cereal, there was a community One gallon of milk, instead of the normal individual containers. There was never a permanent person to prep and serve the breakfast (a desk clerk or housekeeping person). ** -- THE ONLY PLUS -- were the evening and night desk clerks. Five minutes, after I informed, about the 1st night A/C flood**, the 01:00am desk clerk was at my door with key cards for a different room on the same floor. And the evening clerk always had a smile and informative. IN A NUTSHELL = 1. Keep the two desk clerks. 2. Charge $2.50 more per room and hire a full time Maint. man for mechanical and to help housekeeping. 3. A new housekeeper, that will give an 'in service' on how to use a vacuum and how to change bed linen. 4. "IHG " should inspect their hotels more often, this is the second Holiday Inn Express that I've rated as being "POOR" within this 3 county area (WPB, Martin & SLC areas).

I am an IHG Diamond Elite/Ambassador member and was treated poorly here. I called to see if I could check in early and was barked at and hung up on. When I arrived thinking it was a misunderstanding I was checked in but told to leave the property and return at 3:30. So I sat in the parking lot in Florida in July for 40 minutes. I was also questioned about why I was staying there when I live in town. The hallways on the upper floors were sweltering hit and smelled, At exactly 11 am on check out time my room had a knock and I was being told to leave. I told her I was almost done and she had a manager come up. They definitely are not in the hospitality industry. There were only 2 cars in the parking lot when I left, and one when I checked in, so it wasn’t that they are overwhelmed. I’m glad I’m not the only reviewer that saw problems here. They really need to get their act together.

We have stayed at this property before without incident. I had my Crew (8 rooms) there for almost 3 weeks. The first couple of days there were multiple room changes because of air conditioning issues. The real issue here is the Owner/Manager. He will just kick you out of the hotel. He wanted him out now. After I scramble to find alternate accommodations he calls back and says he does not have to move right away. Later when I had another Crew member check out early he was advised that he would not check out the room (I called later that day and it was checked out). A few days before we were done he tried to throw out another Crew member but our Foreman intervened. This "It is my Hotel and I can do what I want" is not Hospitality. I have alerted my IHG Sales Rep to have IHG keep an eye on this property

My family of 4 including an infant and 5 yr old were left stranded in Orlando by American Airlines cancelled flight. In order to get home the next day we had to drive 3 hrs to FLL to catch an early flight out. We couldn’t make the whole trip as it was 1:00 am in the morning and we had to stay somewhere for a few hours so the kids could sleep. We were literally staying for less than 6 hrs and of course they wouldn’t help us out with any discounted rate. So ok that’s fine but when we asked for a crib they took forever at getting us one while we stood there waiting with our exhausted kids. Then after we paid $200 they didn’t even offer to take it up to the room for us. It was unbelievable. They just rolled it out at the front desk while we had all of our luggage, a baby in a stroller and the huge crib. It was pathetic! I don’t like writing bad reviews but I would tell anyone to stay away from this place. The room was not very nice either and the bedding provided for the babysitter crib was awful!

Stay away ran down dirty and the manger will cancel your reservation it she doesn't like the rate you booked it at. Especially if there was an unexpected event that she wasn't aware of you if they get close to selling out. Be smart pay a little more and get a decent hotel.

Spent a night here on the way back from Key Largo. Fast check in, clean room, typical HIE breakfast. Restful sleep. Shower pressure was a bit weak but that’s typical. I don’t recall a pool but if there was one I did not use it.

Front desk check in was so efficient. Building extremely clean. Parking close to where room is. Dunkin donuts & pizza place within walking distance. Bed was comfortable. First floor accommodations were very nice. free breakfast was perfect for what we needed. We were very pleased with the choice to stay here .
