Bikini Beach Resort was an ok place, nothing to brag about. The room was not very clean and the view of the ocean from or room was terrible because we were on the ground floor behind the pool and fencing. No soap or anything else in the room and the curtain on the front window was broken, it was just not a very good experience.
As a seasoned and experienced business and couple’s traveler I review my experiences on several platforms including Hotels.com; great experiences to poor. So, this review is about as unbiased as you can get. I admit that I was hoodooed, flimflammed, bamboozled, by the photos and information the hotel provided on Motels.com web site. I should know by now that H.com does not verify the information or stay in all their listings but is a clearing house and I take that responsibility. I also ignored one of my best tenants for a good hotel and that is to spend the extra $50 a night to get the best locations. With that said, there is no excuse for a hotel to provide such filthy rooms and unmaintained property as Bikini Beach Resort. If a picture paints a thousand words, I will provide the photographic evidence. If I had not prepaid for my stay and would not have lost so much money I would have evacuated. There was a lot of Lysol involved with the stay. The only saving grace was the balcony Gulf view. Why we were put in a second story room vs a higher room I do not know. There did not seem to be an option other than gulf view balcony. But it did overlook the pool area and the beach, but there was no way the property could mess up the beauty of blue water and white beaches, thank God. I highly recommend NOT staying at Bikini Beach. Simply put; dirty, out of date, and arrogant that they know people will stay if they offer the right price. No pride in their property.…
Hey last minute check and I got a room in the first floor should be a great location with step out access to the beach although I was led to believe I had a balcony. In either case the big problem is the mold smell in the room can't get rid of it, hey I'm from Florida so I know mold but this is too much, canceled my remaining 2 nights and moved on. Maybe the upper floors smell better, but sitting at the bar for a quick beer I didn't get a warm fuzzy that would be the case as odors were waffling through there as well.
I can't say enough about the entire staff's friendliness and professionalism. All the people at the front desk were first class; the bartender by the pool was terrific and even the guy renting the beach chairs was super nice. I think the owner could invest some money in the place for a cosmetic face lift, but it was clean. We had a great view, great time - all made possible by the wonderful staff.
The reviews on this place are all over the place, and I know why. I booked last minute for a few days, and the available room was on the street side, no view, nothing special. The next day I moved to a room on the back side, and it was awesome, with a little patio leading directly to the beach. Spend the extra dollars for a great room, and it's suddenly a great resort value on a beautiful room. The staff was wonderfully accommodating, especially Camille in getting me into an oceanfront room! The location was convenient with a really good restaurant right next door and places to souvenir shop within walking distance. I'd stay there again if I was in the area.
