This resort was beautiful and peaceful. The view is second to none and the staff are amazing. Our room was on the 4th floor with a water view. The bed was super comfy and it was so nice to come back to a clean room after our day out! The amenities are fantastic and Tides breakfast was always delicious! Highly recommend!

The hotel was very good. The location was ok. I thought it was on the beach but it was on a man made lagoon. We did not swim in the lagoon only the pools. Very nice pools and the food at the flip Flop bar was very good. I tipped the cooks.

This was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in!!! Do not be fooled by the pictures and advertisement for this hotel. The hotel lobby seemed nice, the pool bar was nice and the staff was welcoming and nice, that’s all the positivity I have for this place. The breakfast was way way over priced, we paid $90 for family of 4 for eggs and bacon! As far as the room, I can’t believe they are even renting these rooms out, how do they meet code??! It looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1980s. The room door looked like it had been forced open by a crowbar. It was completely broken and wouldn’t even shut property or lock! The tile on the threshold was completely rotten and broken. There were stains on the carpet, the floor, and the furniture. The bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in years. The carpets was ripped in several places. Everything was dusty, the bathroom doors and baseboards had gunk all over them. The bathroom was so small you could barely get the door opened without hitting the toilet. The windows were dirty and stained, you couldn’t even see out of them. We couldn’t use our balcony because it was completely encroached by a tree that was not manicured so there were limbs all over the balcony and fallen leaves piled everywhere. The balcony walls were rotten, it was disgusting. To top it off, we arrived late on our first night. When I pulled the sofa bed out for my son to sleep, the sheets from the previous guest were still on the bed!!! There was dirt and dog hair all over the sheets!!! The next morning I complained to the front desk and they said that they were completely booked and could only put us in another room in another building in the golf complex, which was the area we stayed. Well it appeared to me that all the rooms were in the same condition after peeking in a couple of rooms with the doors opened and looking through these reviews and seeing others had the same issue. I asked the lady at the desk if they could get the room cleaned again and mopped, which they did, but didn’t do much. They didn’t mop the floors or vacuum. I think all the guy did was empty the trash and clean the bathroom. We never received maid service while we were there at all. No one came to empty the trash, clean the bathroom or turn down the bed. And, no one ever followed up on my complaint either. Believe me, if we had another option, I would have left. But there were no available hotels in the area because of Hurricane Ida and Labor Day weekend. So we were stuck there. Thank God it wasn’t a far drive from the beach, at least we would escape from the conditions for a while. I’m so disappointed in Marriott that they allow such a disgrace to their name. This hotel should be shut down.

Unfortunately, I had to evacuate from Hurricane Ida and had limited time and choices as to where to book in. Had I done my research, I would have chosen a different location for the obscene amount of money that I paid. Let’s start with the positives. Pets are allowed and the resort waived the nonrefundable pet fee. Check in was easy and I never had to wait whenever I went to the front desk (which was a lot….more on that later). I actually had a first floor room with a view of the golf course which was nice. The bartenders in Tides were very nice even though it was clear that they were very overworked. Ok, here are the negatives. Despite being hurricane evacuees, we were charged a $30 a da “resort” fee. For what? We didn’t do a thing while we were checked in other than try to get an internet connection so I could find out how bad the damage was at home and when I could leave. Secondly, we were there for 8 days and did not get housekeeping the entire time. We had to ask at the front desk for towels, emptying trash cans, etc. Whether we got what we asked for was hit or miss. The towel bar in the bathroom just fell off the wall out of the blue. The carpet in the room was badly stained and so was the bedding. The place is literally falling apart. Lastly, this place is really off the beaten path. You have to drive anyplace to get food or shop away from the resort and it’s not 5 minutes. It’s a good 20-25 ride. It was fine the first few days but started to get old fast. I wished I had booked something cheaper and more centralized because this is not a $275 a night hotel by any stretch.
