One of America’s most iconic resorts, The Breakers is an Italian Renaissance-style hotel situated on 140 acres of oceanfront property on the island of Palm Beach, Florida. For an intimate, exceptionally customized experience, The Breakers’ elegant Flagler Club is an exclusive, 21-room boutique hotel nestled atop the resort. Nestled within The Breakers on two restricted floors, it’s inarguably our most luxurious and exclusive offering. Ten restaurants range from casual beachfront to stylishly sophisticated, while a world-class private beach club hosts four pools, six whirlpool spas, 25 poolside bungalows and a variety of on-site watersports. In addition, there are two 18-hole golf courses, 10 Har-Tru tennis courts, a world-class indoor/outdoor spa, an oceanfront fitness center and 13 boutiques. There is also never a resort fee.

Oceanfront suite with daily service including turndown. Fridge stocked with sparkling and flat water. Luxe linens. Toiletries way above par. So many trips here and it feels like home.

The fitness center is outstanding and overlooks the Atlantic. The only critique of the Breakers is that yoga is not offered and it used to be if memory serves? Breakfast is served in the Circle dining room or on the beach - which we choose after working out. Staff has been there for many years, and the food is consistent especially for buffet.

There are many spots around the property to find solitude - in the early mornings I find coffee in the small market and sit near the front lawn for reading and writing. Restaurants on property - all good. There is a shuttle every 5 minutes to off property shopping/restaurants, as well Tesla house cars that are generally available.

Finding a spot at the adult pool can be challenging but once found is above adequate. Palm trees shade areas - balancing between sun and shade throughout the day.

This stately property continues to thrive and excel - all through Covid even - and is only a short ride from PBI airport terminals.

We wrapped up a fantastic stay at The Breakers this weekend. Coming out of quarantine and amidst the pandemic we were hesitant about how comfortable we would feel staying in a hotel. The Breakers went above and beyond to follow new guidelines and make guests feel safe and welcome. From the moment we checked in we noticed the new sanitation and distancing process. Our rooms were perfectly clean with remotes in sealed bags and toilet paper and tissue unopened. We had a welcome bag filled with sanitizer and screen wipes. The tables at the seafood bar and beach club were distanced. While the pools were busy, the chairs were spaced apart, no bars had seats at them to avoid crowds and every single employee had a mask on the entire time. Bravo, Breakers. We can’t wait to see you again soon!

Our family of four stayed for 5 nights in two rooms, one double and one king room. Neither have a great ocean view, just peekaboo, but both our rooms are really big with great amenities. One thing to note is that they are CLEAN, remotes wrapped in plastic, new rolls of paper towels etc. It feels very safe staying here during the covid period. The beds are comfortable and linens are good quality. Several dining options and staff were all pleasant. I find the resort to be large and a bit confusing and with not a lot of elevators there is always a que. This was our first stay but we will return.

We were staying at the resort and walked through the open air patio of a restaurant (which was not open for service at the time just to check their hours of service and were accosted by the manager because my wife did not have a mask on at the time. There was no one within 15-20 feet of us and they were not even serving at the time. We felt we were singled out because my wife was hispanic and were were told that was not the case. Security then approached us and told us we would be forced to leave if they spoke to us again (We have never been asked to leave any premises every in our lives). We then sat by the pool and watched the staff seat person after person unmasked for their meals once they opened. We informed hotel managment of the perceived discrimination and even offered to show then evidence of it (photos and videos of them seating caucasions without masks); nevertheless, they were not interested. They hotel was more than happy to take our money for the $1100 a night room, multiple meals that were over $100 per person, etc . . .you may not be treated the same if your skin tone matches that of the cleaning staff.

Response from The Breakers, Owner at The Breakers Palm Beach
Responded Mar 4, 2021
Dear KC4642, For the health and safety of our team, guests and community, The Breakers has implemented and continues to maintain our comprehensive B SAFE Health & Safety Initiative. These policies include facial covering requirements per Palm Beach County Order 2020-12 - masks must be worn by all guests when entering, exiting and moving throughout indoor, public common areas, including the hotel lobby, Spa and any retail store. In restaurants, facial coverings are mandatory when entering and exiting any restaurant and while otherwise away from the table. This protocol applies to indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as during and outside hours of operation. The only time a mask may be removed at a restaurant is while seated and actively dining. Our team does its best to identify each instance of non-compliance and enforce our policies as the health & safety of all remain our top priority. To view our full health & safety standards, please visit: https://bit.ly/3kLTj3q. The Breakers prides itself on its culture of caring and respect for all people. As an international destination, the resort proudly welcomes and hosts an extremely diverse clientele. Our Vice President of Food & Beverage would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your recent experience. If you could please share your contact information via private message, it would be greatly appreciated.

We decided to book midweek with the cover virus around. Glad we did. Place was relatively quiet with every one following the guidelines with masks on at all times and in all places in the hotel. Our room was very clean, but we still did a touch up with disinfectant wipes just for our protection. The staff in all parts of the hotel were extremely accommodating. We enjoyed all our meals and our time by the pool relaxing as we stayed on the property the entire delightful time we were there. By the pool and in the restaurants we observed the staff sanitizing chairs, tables, etc. as each guest left them in preparation for the next guests' arrivals.

Just spent 4 awesome days at The Breakers. The efforts the resort has undertaken to make the guests feel as safe as possible under these very difficult times is extremely impressive. All staff were wearing masks at all times, guests were wearing masks whenever they were in public areas, hand sanitizer dispensers were everywhere, and there was an abundance of outdoor dining options. Tables were well spaced. We felt very safe at all times on the resort property. Despite what you read about the Florida governor's lack of appropriate response to sensible safety measures, the staff at the Breakers went above and beyond. Outstanding job in every respect and the resort was in beautiful condition. On numerous occasions staff members went out of their way to thank guests for coming during this pandemic. This is the best property on Palm Beach Island, and one of the best resorts in the world.

There are wonderful things available but you have to ask. Coffee maker, cable TV appeared but had to be requested. Food a bit bare bones with no extras. No hot crusty bread on the table, my breakfast came with ONE piece of toast. It was as described, it’s just rarelyI walk away hungry. $35 a day for parking and usually a $5 tip but no water bottles left in the car? I was surprised. Came to the pool and despite employees walking around I had to get my own towel and no one looked my way to see if I way interested in food or drink. It’s a lot to pay for a lot of minimalism.

First off the pool club area is great. Lots of food and drink. Lots of pools and lots of staff to service the crowd. The valet parking is very well organized. Service in the restaurants is great. There is a lot to like here including the rooms. There are a few things not to like. I went to HMF for drinks before dinner. I got there around 5:45pm and found that it did not open till 6. There was a line of about 30 people. When your paying $2,000 a night for a room you should not be standing in a line. At minimum they should let hotel guest come in to the room to have a seat even if there not served for 15 minutes. I would suggest that they be ready to serve 15 minutes ahead of the official opening time. Also we went there for a night cap. Closing time was 1am and there still was a good size crowd in the place. Again when you are paying big money for a room you should not hear the words "last call". You would not hear that at Sandy Lane or other exclusive Island resorts. This place does so much right but at real 5 Dimond hotel the should be No No's.

My wife & I booked two nights at the Breakers as a Bucket List experience. We understood it’s prime season so the $1,000/night was understood. I can tell you the level of disappointment is significant. From staff, who are friendly, but indifferent to lack of basic courtesies. I could ramble about four silly issues that I’ve never had at any hotel over $200/night, but basic details matter is best summary. Worst was room service delivered uncovered food to room... I think the single wine, beer and appetizers for $140 finished us off.

If you have stupid money to blow. Enjoy. With lots of limitations... Chances are if you have money, you understand the value of it so you shouldn’t waste it here.

Very unfortunate as I had so expected a great experience.

We had a wonderful time. The property is lovely on approach and the staff at the entry and front desk were helpful and attentive. Our rooms were well appointed, however because they were west facing, the rooms became warm through the day while we were out, and a bit humid. The next morning I asked the maid service to keep the shutters and drapes closed all day, which they did, and this helped quite a bit.
The hotel is lovely in many ways- such fun history and the architecture was varied and interesting. The hotel breakfast buffet was excellent with an attentive staff. The beach club was busy and varied (pools, sand, etc.) and the shops in the hotel were plentiful and fun to browse. Palm Beach, itself is upscale and small - very dense with many locals and tourists, some traffic and tight parking, and some difficulty with reservations eating out. . the traffic on and off the island could also be frustrating. We are glad have been to see this icon...

I personally would go to the nearby Publix . It is a favorite go to supermarket for me anywhere I travel in Florida. The staff is always very cheery & helpful. Usually can cover any basic grocery, health & grooming needs that may not be available at the hotel.
